Congratulations on your decision to use Korona POS to help manage your retail business.
I am going to help get you started with this series of short videos.
First off, you're probably watching this video because you signed up for the free trial
of our point of sale software.
If you haven't already, head over to koronapos.com and click on the Try Korona button, fill out
the form and you will be well on your way to using the easiest and most reliable POS
solution available.
You should have received an email from noreply@koronacloud.com asking you to verify that you signed up for
the trial.
If you didn't, check in your spam folder, it could be in there.
Click the link and you will then be logged into Korona for the first time.
You will be asked for a few details, such as the size of your store and contact information.
Your store name, address, and phone number will automatically be added to the header
of your receipt.
During this process, you will receive another email with a temporary password.
I recommend you copying and pasting this password as it is case sensitive.
Follow the link in the email, enter your email and password and click login.
To change your password, hover your mouse over the Welcome button on the top right of
the window, then click on my user account.
Enter your old password, then a new password twice.
Your password must have at least 9 digits, one capital and one lowercase letter and one
number.
After the initial configuration, you will be directed to your dashboard.
There are several widgets here, but let's look at the getting started widget.
Here, you can download your POS software.
Choose the POS that you'd like to setup, then click Configure POS.
You have various options to edit here, such as your header and footer information, button
configurations and others.
Let's leave these all as default for now and click on the big orange button, download
terminal software.
You will be prompted to choose your operating system, then click download.
If you are using windows you will download a file named client.exe, if you are using
OSX or Linux, you will download client.zip.
Windows users, simply execute the setup on the computer you would like to use as your
point of sale terminal and follow the setup.
You may get some warnings from Windows asking if you are sure that you want to install the
software, click yes, or allow.
After the setup is complete the POS application will start automatically.
Non-windows users, extract all files from the archive and make sure you have a version
Java 8 or higher installed on your computer.
Then navigate to the bin folder and execute korona-client.jar.
After starting the software for the first time you will likely get to a login screen
which is used to pair your POS to a KORONA.pos Cloud account.
The setup might be able to figure out the appropriate account automatically.
Don't be alarmed if the POS skips this step.
After the login, you will be able to select the individual POS you are setting up.
If you only have one available POS the system will pick that one automatically for you.
Again, don't worry of the system skips this step.
After these first steps, the POS will remember its configuration and restart.
The first start after these steps will usually take several minutes.
Future POS starts will be significantly faster.
The default login for your POS is one.
Press one and enter to start using your software.
I will teach you how to change this in a later video.
If you'd like to configure more points of sale, simply navigate to the welcome button,
then to My KORONA.pos cloud packages and then expand.
Here you can add more terminals and additional packages.
Now that you have the software installed and configured, we can move on to creating your
commodity groups.
