this is my anet e10 it's in my print farm it prints one print really really
well that's why it's still around otherwise I wouldn't recommend it but
I've been using peopoly sheets or buildtak sheets on it and eventually
they wear out so I recently replaced it with an ultrabase anycubic glass plate
I'll show you how I did this and why I love it on today's filament Friday
filament Friday is brought to you every week by my awesome patreon supporters
thank you so much! This is the print that I do most of the time on my Anet E10
it's just a little plug I do it for a customer and they're happy with the
results but when I'm short I have to get other printers involved like to CR-10
and when I do I love it because I love printing on glass with just a
little bit of glue when I stick I can't pull them off with my fingers so I use a
pliers to pop them off but all it is is just Avery permanent glue stick I rub
a little bit on and it holds the prints beautifully and then I just pop them off
with the plyers so I've been really happy with this method so I wanted to switch
the anet e10 to a glass base one drawback to using glue is they end up
with a glue residue on the bottom so the easiest way to get rid of that just drop
them into water let them soak a little bit the glue is water soluble so the
water just rinses it right off so other thing left to do is to dry them off now
I sometimes get an order for thousands of these and I don't want to have to do
this over and over again I do it for some of the prints that are on the
CR-10 and that but the Anet E10 prints these like 24/7 so I'm I try to
stay ahead of orders the Anet E10 doesn't have a glass base it's just an
aluminum base so I've been using peopoly or buildtak sheets and they just
wear out over time and so I wanted what I have on a Anycubic I3 mega it's
got this ultrabase that is like a flocked glass and rarely do I have to
use glue on it then I found out I could buy that separately as they stick on you
can add it to just about any base you want so I decided to try that on the
Anet E10. I remove the peopoly sheet and then I brought in the anycubic ultrabase
now it's smaller than the bed of the Anet E10 so I'm getting a little bit
lose a little bit of bed space here but it's okay I do a single print on this
guy so it's got this sticky back all I had to do is peel back the blue
protective layer and then it's just sticky so all I have to do is position
it and push it down so I lined it up and it's got notches in the corner so I can
still get at the screws this thing really like fit perfectly it's perfect
for these I3 designs for a standard size bed really and it stuck
really well I pushed it down and it didn't seem to want to move. This of
course made the bed much taller so I needed to either adjust the Z stop
switch which isn't easy on the Anet E10 or just lower the bed and I did that by
replacing the four springs because even fully compressed those Springs were
still too tall so these smaller ones worked great so at each corner I
replaced the tall spring with the shorter spring and then adjust put the
adjustment nuts on and then the bed sheet comes with a white paper sheet for
clearance and all I did was adjust the bed at all four corners in the center
until I was close and then from there I'll adjust it once I start printing
that first layer that's the best way I found to adjust your bed so I let it
start printing and then I just slowly tweaked the knobs and I can tell just by
looking at the width of the print whether it's good or bad so sometimes I
had to reach around and just tweak the knobs but it works good after I get that
first layer done then it's pretty much set so I let it do a few of these parts
and then I went back and I checked it once it was done
you know completed all of all sixteen parts and once that was done it was
starting on a second later I stopped the print pulled the bed forward and I could
see that I had it pretty much perfectly level the only one that looks brighter
there is a one that started a second layer now let me show you how useful
this is because there's no glue even though there's a glue stick back in a
picture there there's no glue on this bed yet they're holding very very nicely
and look at how easy they come off I can slide a razor blade on this thing and
they pop right off there's no glue residue so the bed was
good so I continued to print and here they are look how easy they pop off and
they're nice and smooth and they just pop right off and no players no having
to wash them so I'm very very happy with the results the ultra base is working
great on the Anet E10. They come packaged really really well in a nice foam so you don't have to
worry about it breaking and I found them on Amazon for a decent price I'll put a
link in the description below so if you buy through that link it actually helps
the channel out and I get a few pennies I also bought a second one because I
remember the the mini the CR 10 mini with the acrylic base I decided I want to
try and rebuild this into kind of my own CR 10 with a few minor modifications and
this is one of them I want to put an ultrabass on it so I hope they come out
with bigger versions of this because I wouldn't mind putting this on my CR10
We did cross 20,000 subscribers and I just want to talk briefly about
that it's been a real honor to be part of the 3d print community when I started
this channel there really was only a couple channels Barnacules was doing
some stuff now and then Tom sandalerer was pretty big at that time he had I
almost 10 or 15 thousand subscribers and I started in like August of 2014 it turns
out the same time that Angus at Makers Muse started but I started it because
all I saw was a bunch of channels of people who built their own or maybe
doing time-lapse of their first prints nobody was really teaching how to do 3d
design how to just get started with 3d printing
how'd it take something Tinkercad and modify it how to show that a 3d printer
was not just a toy it was a useful tool and you could make useful things around
your shop and around your house that's what the channel was about when I
launched it and that's what I did well now you look on YouTube there's hundreds
of channels doing all that there's channels doing design work with fusion
360 and Tinkercad and beyond and blender it's awesome there's all kinds
of channels doing useful prints around their house and shop and
just fantastic and there's printers of all shapes and sizes being reviewed and
and I you know I focused on a sub $500 printer which was really hard to get
back then and now they're everywhere in fact they're really really good so I
feel like the little bit that I did and started over three years ago has spread
and that's really what I wanted yeah my channel hasn't grown to a hundred
thousand or two hundred thousand views like maybe you would expect after three
years certainly Angus and Joel and and Tom have grown but I'm happy with what
I was able to do I brought my message to YouTube and I think I helped a lot of
people get started in 3d printing and that's really what it's all about
so please keep watching I appreciate your subscribing and also especially
thank you most of all to my patreon supporters you have kept this channel
going on those days when I just didn't feel like doing it so I really
appreciate it so that's it for this week if you like
what I'm doing here maybe check out some of the other videos popping up if you
like what I'm doing and you want to help support it a dollar a month to patreon
goes a long way if nothing else if you're not a subscriber click on that
CHEP logo and subscribe I'll see you next time
on Filament Friday
