USA news on Youtube Oct 16 2017

Okay, and the thanks it is Monday October 16th and a Fox News Alert oil rig explosion breaking overnight a massive fireball

Erupting on a Louisiana Lake the search happening right now for the missing plus ten stocks that for today

President Trump and Mitch McConnell coming face-to-face today for the first time since the August

Obamacare failure what to expect ahead of that big meeting

And a Hail Mary play here Colin Kaepernick now accusing the NFL owners of all

Colluding against him the action. He is now taking Fox and Friends first continues right now

Good morning to you you were watching Fox and Friends first. I'm Jillian mealy it may take more than that to giving you

Thanks so much for starting your day with us today. It's one minute our top story this morning

President Trump will meet with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell here in just a few hours

It will be their first face-to-face meeting since Republicans failed to repeal and replace Obamacare

Chris Jenkins joins us live from DC with a preview of the big meeting good morning Griffin

Good morning, Gillian and Rob welcome to Mitch McConnell Monday

they're calling it a working lunch the majority leader spokesman saying that the

President and vice president will sit down Mitch McConnell to discuss the fall of Jenna, which includes completing the budget resolution

paxing tax reform and confirming judicial nominees

But the main course here may be more about the two leaders trying to repair a broken relationship

That became public this summer as the two took shots at each other over the failure to pass health care

Our new president head of course not been in this line of work, and I think had

Excessive expectations, I'm very disappointed in Mitch

But if he gets these bills passed I'll be very happy with them. I'll be the first to admit it

complicating matters former White House chief strategist Steve

Bannon is taking on the establishment in particular Mitch McConnell issuing a litmus test for Republican incumbents in the midterms

Disavowal McConnell or face the wrath of a primary challenge

This is other conservative groups like the Senate conservatives fund are also calling for McConnell's removal

But Maine's moderate senator

Susan Collins who is a holdout during the healthcare vote says bandhans rhetoric is what the American people are tired of

They don't want this hyper partisanship. They want us to work together, and they want us to get things done

Collins is also criticizing the president's executive order on health care a move Majority Leader McConnell has praised last week as a step moving forward

Finally no word guys on what's being served today is the White House chef. I suppose figures out. What kind of comfort food?

He might come up with

Awkward, hopefully something Mitch McConnel likes I wouldn't hate to be in that meeting alright. Thanks so much Grif

Republican Senator Bill Cassidy who co-authored

one version of the healthcare replacement bill says the biggest thing that Congress needs to accomplish right now is lowering those premiums

He says the real threat to the GOP establishment are the voters who are upset with Congress for getting nothing done

The president's not gutting the Affordable Care Act. Let's just take the cautionary reduction payments is one example

They're unconstitutional a court has said so and with the president's focus on

Focusing on our middle class families who are paying thirty to forty thousand dollars a year

For premiums plus deductibles on top of this the payments are unconstitutional

According to a court and his first first responsibility is uphold that but we absolutely have to think about that family around the kitchen table

Republicans have been trying to do so but coupled with flexibility so that premiums can come down

Keep in mind with those payments that families paying 30 to

$40,000 a year. We've got to do something to lower their premiums

I think what is a real threat to the Republican establishment is not addressing the needs of that family around the kitchen table

All right now one of the big talkers of the day disgrace and unemployed still unemployed colin kaepernick filing a grievance against the NFL

That's right the former quarterback now claiming that owners are teaming up to keep him off the field because of his unpatriotic

Protests Kelly Wright joins us live now with details on that it Kelly Robert chilly and good morning to you

Are you ready for some football?

The end of last season Colin Kaepernick was not ready he opted out of his contract

With his team the San Francisco 49ers and as a free agent

He was hoping to sign on with another team in the NFL, but there were no takers

You'll recall that

Kaepernick ignited a firestorm of controversy last year when he began kneeling during the national anthem and protest against racism and police

brutality and now Capra Dick's attorney Mark Geragos has filed a grievance against the NFL claiming NFL team owners

colluded against admitting Kaepernick to their team and a statement posted on Twitter Geragos tweeted

Athletes should not be denied employment based on partisan political provocation the executive branch of our government

the NFL Players Union

supports the grievance NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in a recent interview with ESPN denies NFL owners are colluding against competent

Speaking of Goodell it seems some NFL players

disregarded his memo or didn't get the memo that all players should stand during the national anthem and

in Jacksonville one person

demonstrated

Against the NFL players from the air of former Jags fan hired a pilot to fly a plane with a banner over the stadium

for two hours reading the American

Boycott the Jags and NFL and then in Oakland

California American Idol runner-up singer Jessica Sanchez sang the national anthem and then she took a knee

Meanwhile NFL owners will be meeting here in New York on Tuesday

They are concerned about these protests

Eroding fan support some of them want all players to stand during the national anthem but some players say they will continue to fight

Against racism and use this as their way of doing that back to you all right. Thanks

Kelly yeah, and this meeting was previously scheduled

This is an NFL owners meeting that happens all the time

So they're just gonna be talking about this because this has become the forefront

This is one of those things that just won't go away and a lot of people say you know Colin Kaepernick gives it good enough

Football player to be on a team right now. Yes, that's true

But the owners also have the right to say I don't want you on my team. Well. That's what's so funny about the argument

He's making is that I don't think this takes collusion to get done because who wants to touch somebody that's this controversial

It's not like they all got together and said even if you want them don't take them

We're all gonna get together and pull this on him. I mean. I just don't think there's much of a case there

Thing is and I'm curious myself people are asking what is that evidence that they supposedly have to think that they even have a case

Yeah

It might just be a shot in the dark who knows but if you ask people on the left some people

Say that all of this controversy really has nothing to do with patriotism for this country. Let's listen to that I

Think that they should be

Listened to I think that the issues they're raising should be discussed in a serious

Sustained way and not just be put aside because the president is trying to make this about patriotism

And it's not these players have said we are patriotic. We love this country, but there are serious issues

We have to talk about and we're not as a nation having that conversation

I want that to be the conversation not these divisive cultural wars that the president's trying to rely on

Because he's got nothing else done like health care or tax reform or infrastructure

So you have the argument as you heard there from Marie harf saying, you know this isn't about patriotism

And you have the argument from from guys who used to be NFL players themselves like Burgess Owens in our last hour

And he says the NFL just isn't what it used to be

This is what Marxist do they they they destroy everything they touch with me the black family

whether it be the school system whether the education whether the

Entertainment and now the NFL we now have a brand that was built through decades we can all come together

Enjoy ourselves and see men grow men compete and now here

We're fighting

We're trying to debate on whether the flag is something we should respect tonight

So I understand we are getting in a war and then it's ignite against each other

It's against ideologies socialism Marxism is what we're seeing now coming out of this black community

Yeah, and they could say it's not about patriotism all they want

But I mean it the fact is you're kneeling for the national anthem if you want to have a discussion about this

That's completely fine, and you can do that in a number of different venues kneeling during national anthem with the flag

I mean, there's no other way to take that

ISM. There are a lot of players around the NFL excuse me who do things in their community who have ride-alongs with police officers who?

Go to Congress to try and talk about social issues yet, they're not out there taking a knee necessarily exactly

And then the ones that you see taking a knee oftentimes aren't doing much other than that

To make a difference in that department, so that's that's where you get a lot of the opinions conversations not over here

That's for sure, but we do want to get to a Fox News Alert right now

Buying it search for a missing man after an oil rig explodes on a lake just

Outside New Orleans eight people were on board, but only seven made it to the shore and were taken to the hospital

Five of them are in critical condition witnesses reported hearing loud explosions seeing a large fireball than a cloud of smoke

One person describing the blast as a sonic boom officials now warning oil may be leaking into Lake Pontchartrain

They're looking into reports of cleaning chemicals triggering the blast

right two inmates considered armed and dangerous

Who were set to appear in court today are now on the run the manhunt has been launched in Missouri after William Carter and Joseph?

La demanda are busted out of the pema scott county jail early Sunday morning both facing serious charges including murder and kidnapping

police say they escaped through

Escape their cell through an air duct and are headed towards the Mississippi River

Expected to make its case today in the corruption trial of Senator Bob Menendez the New Jersey Democratic

used of taking bribes in exchange for favors in Washington

Prosecutors fear if the case is dismissed. It could pave the way to eventually legalize pay to play politics

After the hour he deserted his unit and endangered fellow soldiers rescuing him from the Taliban and today, Bo Bergdahl is back in the headlines

And it could have been too soon now late-night host James Corden is responding to a lot of backlash

Today Bo Bergdahl is expected to admit. He's a deserter brought home with a hero's welcome by the Obama administration

Bergdahl is said to plead guilty to charges tied to his capture by the Taliban in 2009. That's right five

Terrorists were exchanged for his return and six US soldiers were killed searching for him in Afghanistan

Joining us now to react his Fox and Friends weekend co-anchor and Army veteran Pete hagseth. Hey Pete good morning so today

I guess the question is and we don't know this at this point did he strike a deal

Or is he pleading guilty in hopes of leniency from the judge?

We don't know it looks like

He's pleading guilty either way the question is whether it's a plea deal whether he got some sort of a deal from prosecutors

Ultimately though it goes before a judge the judge will make a call him in

What he's faces the lesser of the two is what he will face. Whether its life in prison for

misbehavior before the enemy or did the desertion charge for five years and whether his time in captivity

Will be encountered toward that as well

We don't know if he cut a deal we will find out today his trial was supposed to start a week from now

It'll likely likely become a sentencing instead because he's likely to plead guilty here this

I mean This is a story that enrages

A lot of members of the military and a lot of Americans in general because you see I mean that image of the five

Terrorists that we had to get yeah, yeah, and it was just it was it's a very dangerous precedent

misbehavior before the enemy is the big charge here that carries the potential of life in prison that was about that so it's different than

Treason they initially were there were thoughts of charging him with treason intentionally going to join the enemy

Misbehavior before the enemy means you shamefully abandoned surrender or deliver up command property or information that you have a duty to defend

Which he clearly did abandoning his post and walking off base. What the

Prosecutors knew they could do is

They could likely get this charge to stick which comes with life in prison and anybody who's looked at this case understands

What happened the precedent that it's sense you don't want a Bowe Bergdahl ever walking free in light of what he's done

But if you tried for treason and don't get it then you have complications

so they went with Miss Pam look at the value that he puts on American soldiers being captured now is so much higher because they

Know what they can get for there's a president. It's it's five of the worst for a dirtbag

Yeah, that's what that's what happened the worst guy in your unit that stacks is gear up and walks off base

So people like new tenant Colonel Michael waltz have to spend their time as special operators looking for him

distracted from the mission

And then we take five of the worst out of Guantanamo Bay who other

Americans had to capture at one point put their lives at risk it is it is a price that Bowe Bergdahl charged our entire country

The least you can do is serve behind bars for the record business

That's what you would like to see could you ever in any

Situation make an argument against that against life in prison you've been over there

No III wouldn't I mean most of us would look at that. He should be put to death for it

I mean ultimately this is a treasonous act a lot of people thought he was searching for the Taliban

What happened once he was captured as a whole nother story?

There's evidence that needs to be but there were much harsher

Sentences that have happened for there's many ways to raise your right hand in a venire country you go into a dangerous place you have

To trust that those you're serving with will have your back when you do something like that you put all of that at risk

That's why a lot of people will be paying attention here

And the judge is unlikely to be lenient in this case and the soldiers who died searching for him that tell us a little bit

About that of course you've got and that'll be part of the testimony in the sentencing as well

They say it won't happen today

But in a week from now when the sentencing happens if he pleads guilty you're gonna hear from members who were injured

Those that were killed can't free speak for themselves

But those who were injured in searching will speak up and talk about I was on this patrol because of Bowe Bergdahl

I was diverted to this mission because of Bowe Bergdahl

That's really powerful and and the voices and the faces of those who are no longer here

You know he'll be he'll be likely sitting in prison thinking of those faces for a long long time

Appreciate it

okay, 19 minutes after the hour now remember the mysterious tarmac meeting between Bill Clinton and

Loretta Lynch the AG for President Obama just before the 2016 election will the brand new evidence that has just been uncovered

Good morning welcome back James Corden in defining the term too soon with a poorly received joke about Harvey Weinstein

Harvey Weinstein is already Austin. I opted a stone salad together than the songs

You should probably leave now

Sadly for the late night comedian his joke fell flat on the crowd here with a lot of the outrage online

Which is what she does best?

He was trying to be funny, but as you could tell the audience did not laugh nor did people on social media now

He made that joke at a gala on Friday, and it was hit with immediate criticism from some of Harvey Weinstein's accusers

So much, so that he has already issued an apology on Twitter

He says to be clear sexual assault is no laughing matter

I was not trying to make light of Harvey's inexcusable behavior, but to shame him the abuser not his victims

I am truly sorry for anyone offended that was never my intention

But I gotta say he is

Still getting hammered on social media Shiva and Twitter says I'm of the opinion that if you need to explain your joke it wasn't funny

In this case it wasn't just unfunny it was inappropriate Susan chimed in saying it wasn't that you caused offense

But that you exploited the misfortune of others to try to be funny

But then you were not at all funny Rebecca chimed in saying really poor taste really bad timing

Really, not funny at all Saturday Night Live also addressed the situation

but they kind of took a different approach by making fun of how common a

Sexual harassment is in Hollywood so that appears to have gone over better than what James Corden did on Friday. What is the difference?

People are saying he's the comedian. He should be able to make jokes, but it's such a sensitive subject

Yeah, the Colin Kaepernick saga continues Carly

Yeah

This is the one that everyone is talking about stay the man that started the national anthem protest Colin Kaepernick has lawyered up

And he has filed a grievance

against the NFL accusing them of

Colluding to keep him out of the league now his lawyers issued this statement

Saying that the league has deprived mr.. Kaepernick of employment rights in retaliation for mr.

Kaepernick's leadership and advocacy for equality and social justice

But a lot of other people on social media saying yeah

We don't agree with that Jay says so I guess you're allowed to sue a company if they don't hire

You this is getting ridiculous grow up people JC tweeted should tim tebow join the collusion

lawsuit - and

Grace says you know people are not obligated

To hire a player, you know it's funny brought Tim Tebow. I was literally sitting at my desk this morning

I covered the Eagles when Tim Tebow was camping yes and listen

He didn't make the team going into the season right and I had that same exact yeah

You bring up Tim Tebow when you talk about Colin Kaepernick also should be pointed out that?

Colin Kaepernick opted out of his own contract so

yeah, I

Don't think that holds any water right now. This is

Look at this picture a very special celebration for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Marcus Johnson before Thursday's game

Johnson was baptized in the away game

hotel pool

Everybody joined in and watched him get baptized. I think this is very nice

He posted that picture to Twitter saying first time being baptized corporate worship is a beautiful thing cleansed and reborn in

Jesus's name, so it seems like this is a very spiritual team. Yeah, you know what it's a fun team

I will say if you if you're not an Eagles fan, and you're not familiar with the team

It's been a long time since we've had a good season okay, and they're five and one right now

So they're just they're enjoying every moment there, so they want Thursday's game, so maybe God was on their side. Maybe there you go

All right 27 minutes after the hour Nancy Pelosi pretty high opinion of herself and now she's doubling down on it

I think I'm a great legislator stuff promotions a terrible thing, but clearly somebody has to do it

But is it finally time for president Trump to cut off Congress our panel weighs it next

I think that the biggest evidence for lack of experience in a job is the President of the United States

I think I'm a great legislator

Self-promotion is a terrible thing but clearly somebody has to do it

All right

Nancy Pelosi there defending herself touting herself as a great legislator going on to say that President Trump

Went rogue with the Iran deal and with his decision on health care

With the president set to meet with Mitch McConnell today

Is it finally time that he started thinking about ways to cut off Congress and get this job done himself?

he's not having a lot of luck thus far here to debate that Chuck roca Democratic strategist and

Alexandra Smith executive director of America rising the pack political action in the committee guys

Thank so much for coming on this morning Chuck. We're gonna start with you

You know I it's below. She kind of sounded like Donald Trump. They're taking some of that self-promotion to heart

Rob

BREAKING NEWS TRUMP 10/16/17, TAX , HEALTHCARE ,Trey Gowdy , Jason Chaffetz - Duration: 18:42.

Congress former congressman jason Chaffetz, yes great glad to be here

yeah, I also have to note my grievance was filed from the weekend because they played life as a highway Rascal Flatts edition and I

Said no you need the original from Tom Cochran, and we got it today wait. Okay? We like rascal

What was fine, but he followed on Tom car?

I just had to note that thing all right meanwhile. Let's talk a little bit about what is happening today congressman

It looks like the president's gonna sit down with Mitch McConnell. They're gonna try to figure out how they can get the budget done

They're gonna try to figure out if they can do anything with taxes

Explain their relationship

Big group hug kiss you kiss each other on the cheek and say hey come on. Let's have a hot dog

I just don't look

when the team isn't

Performing well in putting wins up on the board a lot of people on that team want to see a change in the coach

And Donald Trump. Yeah, all he wants are bills to sign. He just wants to when it's left to him just one

Yeah, when it was left to just the president

We got Neal Gorsuch, so he was able to perform, but I think people are looking at Congress, and they just fundamentally don't understand

Why we don't have repeal and replace for

Obamacare and where is the tax reform bill?

We talked about all these principles

Introduce the bill so we can build the momentum to actually win the vote that's that's not a miss Mitch need to go

Again I I don't know what the case is to keep them if with all due respect he's a very nice gentleman is very accomplished

and

But you've got to actually produce things, and they haven't been able to do that

I do think the pressure should be put also on Senator McCain and

You know Rand Paul and those that actually voted no. I'm there

We're going to vote no on these things

but it is the Majority Leader's job to bring up the bill and

Actually push to get the votes if people vote no, then they know who to blame

But when you don't even vote then you gotta kind of blame

Problem with the health care thing we heard Nancy Pelosi and also this weekend Chris Murphy Senator

Chris Murphy the Democrat from Connecticut was on some of the sunday shows talking about it

you know Nancy Pelosi said

That if the president doesn't do what they want him to and listen him then they're gonna shut down the government

But she says if the government shuts down

It's the Republicans fault listen to us and Chris Murphy as well what he's doing is hurting the American people isn't about

Policy we have a path in the Senate

Pass at least I wonder if he even knows

What that path is?

Because from what he says it doesn't sound like he has knowledge

Knows the facts basis his decision on evidence. They have the majority in the House and the Senate and the president's signature

They have the power to keep government open. This is the equivalent of health care arson

He is literally setting the entire healthcare system on fire

Just because the president is upset that the United States Congress won't pass a repeal bill

That is supported by 17 percent of the American public

First of all I love that Nancy Pelosi actually said out loud on a Sunday morning show it's not about policy

It's sort of like what she said originally, which is we have to pass this bill in order to find out

What's in it the bill originally was passed on a bed of lies? It's

$2,500 savings you're gonna be able to keep your doctor

Remember it was a federal judge

Who ruled that you can't do this and so President Trump is following the law by pushing this back

And then he's doing something really good

Which we've all wanted which was to be able to sell insurance products across state lines the president is actually doing the right

Well a lot of just briefly on this as well a lot of this will come down to the 2018 midterm steve mann and has

come out and said it's time to go to war with the

establishment steve had a great debate between two republicans earlier in the show is it a good idea to challenge these republican incumbents in the

Senate well look I challenged a 12-year incumbent

Republican I argued that look if you want different results you're gonna have to look different people and they're gonna have to stand on their

own individual records

but firing on each other will

Surely push us into the minority if you hand up spending to have all your millions of dollars of resources so

You'd be careful on what battles that you pick and write and remember

It's a democrats

Who are ultimately battling against?

But it's hard to look into the camera or go to before voters and say

Look if republicans will just vote republican we can actually pass these things when you were the head of the Oversight Committee

I know you were trying to get into

What exactly went on on that tarmac yeah meeting between the former President Bill Clinton whose wife was being investigated by the FBI and?

the Attorney General of the United States

They set apparently in a plane and had a chat for a half an hour. We were told nothing happened

Judicial Watch has sued repeatedly and now it looks as if they are winding up with through

FOIA requests at least 30 more pages of documents regarding that why is it Judicial Watch is so much better at getting documents

From the government than the Congress it oh, I'm actually writing a book about this, and how the deep state works

But look they have been able to get to the courts and force the issue the untold story the people when people have not been

Focusing on is there is an Inspector General report going on Michael Horowitz is the Inspector General of the Department of Justice he has?

450 employees they have started this investigation you haven't heard a single leak know like what Muller is doing okay?

You haven't had a single leak and in some time in 2018 probably in the first half

He'll go probably before the Oversight and Government Reform, Committee and look at this report

It'll start with that tarmac meeting and go all the way through the firing of Comey and it'll be but probably the most

definitive report and

That is going to be an explosive time

But I guess and this is purely a guess they uncovered these documents Department of Justice realized oh

The Inspector General has them now we're gonna have to release them to Judicial Watch, and there are probably more

I think there's only 30 if there's one there's a lot more than 30 so we can screw with Congress

But we can't screw with the judicial yeah

because

Congress does not have a way to get to the courts in order to if I when I issued a subpoena on the Department of

Justice guess who I needed to get to enforce that subpoena the Department of Justice good luck, yeah

And so you you're just at a stalemate you've got to be able to have Congress be able to get directly to the courts

That's what Judicial Watch is able to do and tom Fitton take more power to you

He's been very effective congressman Hillary Clinton was on last week

And she was talking about the money that she got from Harvey Weinstein turns out she got

250,000 dollars she said she's going to give that to charity find a way to to use that money for good turns out now

She's saying this morning that they've already spent that money the foundation spinet, so she can't pay it back

I don't know how you look anybody in the eye and be able to say this was an appropriate use of this

I mean, oh well. I'd give 10%. I'm just gonna give it to chair well

I've already spent the money

And I just she's just demonstrating every single day why she is not the president event

She has that in her bank account give it to charity

Manoah Cuse for this I mean every single day we hear stories about mr.

Weinstein and and then you have somebody who isn't

She she's arguing that she wants to lead with women and women's issues and then this issue comes up

And she's like no. I'm gonna go ahead and keep that money another issue came up

Just recently across the pond Hillary Clinton on her book tour. Just just moments ago said these comments about the NFL kneelers take a listen

So you have to resist what are very clear what we call dog whistles to that base?

That's what the black athletes kneeling was about that was not

Against our anthem or our flag that was actually kneeling as a reverent position. It was to

demonstrate in a peaceful way

against racism and injustice in our criminal system

I think it would be a grave error for Democrats to

Recede from those fights and so therefore we have to stand up fight back

Resist so President Trump says stand up a president Hillary Clinton would have said take a knee

And she's overseas and saying in London

It's interesting that you draw that parallel

They were taking and eat only

During the national anthem right and so it's pretty hard to make an argument that it's not against the flag in that it's not against

The United States of America and if the Democrats are gonna continue to fight this fight

They will lose every single time something that President Trump has tweeted out about was regarding the NFL

Maybe it's time that they lose their tax benefits right I know they gave up a certain tax exemptions

But they still get a lot of tax subsidies, and you in fact introduced some legislation

Yeah, actually had a bill that said to the NFL. I did this a number of years ago

That said what the NFL was structured as a not-for-profit? Are you kidding me?

Actually, I give some credit to Roger Goodell because I worked with him

They pulled back some of that

But they do get subsidies sure and they remember they were getting money from the National Guard from the military

stadiums of build stadiums

I don't think the NFL wants

Anybody to look under the hood on how they financed these publicly financed these stadiums because I think you'd be appalled on

What the taxpayers are paying in order to build an NFL stadium only to have people go and disrespect the floor so if the backlash?

Continues they're going to do everything they can to stop the kneeling

Well look I don't think the American public

I think they are winning this fight their understanding that the flag and the country comes first above and beyond to publicly

Financing of these stadiums, but they should pass this legislation to take away their tax-exempt status

There's no reason to do that to do that what happens Thomasson. Thanks a lot. Thank you she

Right behind you is Jillian. She has mournin what I'm sure

We'll hear more after the NFL owners meetings this week by the way, so we'll keep you posted there

but for now

Let's get right to this Fox News Alert happening now a desperate search for a missing person after a massive explosion at an offshore

oil rig in Louisiana at least seven people hurt in the blast in Lake Pontchartrain

That's just outside New Orleans people who live nearby describing the scary moments this all went down

We were just sitting in my house and the whole entire house shook things fell off tables sounded like a bomb dropping

Officials think cleaning chemicals somehow triggered the blast they're concerned oil may be leaking into the lake

This graced Army sergeant Bowe Bergdahl expected to plead guilty in court today the 31 year old is charged with desertion and misbehavior

before the enemy

Bergdahl was captured by the Taliban five years later the Obama

Administration treated five terrorists to get him back. He's facing up to life in prison

Early a retired US Green Beret commander Lieutenant Colonel Michael waltz explained what he wants to see happen to Bergdahl

And I hope he has given a dishonorable discharge

Reduced to private deprived of all back pay hundreds of thousands, that's been accumulating for him

He doesn't even deserve the honor of being called a Pio w in my mind. He needs to be called a deserter

Colonel watts led the Special Forces search for Bergdahl in Afghanistan back in 2009

Thank You Hillary Clinton not done with her blame game yet her newest scapegoat

You had

You-know-whats Faraj campaigning for Trump and the like you know the big lie is a very

Potent tool a big lie with nitro Faraj well Nigel says Hillary is just in denial and he joins us coming up

Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick now filing a grievance

Against his National Football League, that's right

He claims the owners are colluding to keep him off the field as a punishment

For his national anthem protest Rob Schmidt joins us now with the details Rob

Yeah, hey guys good morning to you and Colin Kaepernick now seeming desperate lawyering up and filing a grievance alleging that every single NFL owner

Conspired to keep him out of the league Kaepernick's attorney

Sent this statement out to the media it reads in part if the NFL is to remain a meritocracy

then principled and peaceful political protest

Which the owners themselves made great political theater immitating weeks ago?

Should not be punished and athletes should not be denied employment based on partisan political provocation by the executive branch of our government

the NFL Players Association offering a statement of support that makes this job almost seem like a burden that they have to do our

Union has a duty to assist mr.. Kaepernick as we do all players and we will support him

Kaepernick of course started the trend of kneeling during the anthem as a way of protesting police brutality against the black community

But many Americans saw it as a clear sign of his disdain for the country that he lives in

The president jumped into this

Conversation a couple of weeks ago as we all remember and inspired a lot more kneeling before NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell

Faced with declining ratings told players. They should stand for the anthem

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones took him one step further and threatened to bench players who kneel so basically he's trying to say that everybody was

In on this said everybody said we can't have this guy in the NFL anymore

And I mean that's a that's a really big claim

And how do you prove that and of course why would any owner even if it wasn't collusion?

Why would anybody want him on the team when he's so divisive in that way yeah?

I don't think you need to collude to get people

Out of his contract, and if you were a really good player, right?

I think you could she still belongs in the NFL for talent reasons

But I just think that who wants to touch him. I think you have to get together to decide it's no

Grievance though so because he's no longer part of a team

What does he want does he want money or does he want his job? I think he wants his job back

I think that's exactly what he wants, and he's probably running out of money. I mean you know how the

I spend a lot of money. I mean it's it's expensive life

Isn't there still Canadian Football League you live there Neil for there a problem there you go alright alright?

I mean while a critical day in court today for

New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez could a judge actually dismiss part of the corruption case against him

We're going to talk about that and Hillary Clinton's latest scapegoat for her election loss

Nigel Faraj

If you had you know what Faraj campaigning for Trump and the like you know the big lie is a very

potent tool

Well Faraj says that's ridiculous, and he's gonna join us now. I could ask what the big liar

We have some quick political headlines for you today a judge might rule to dismiss some charges against

New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez the New Jersey Democrat accused of taking bribes for working a legislation that would benefit a friend

He said it was a friendship his defense says the alleged bribes haven't been linked to any specific actions

Prosecutors are worried that a dismissal could legalize pay to play politics the oldest member of the US Senate now facing a primary

challenger from within her own party

Seeking her fifth term 84 year old Democrat Dianne Feinstein will run against 50-year old state Senate President Pro Tem

Kevin de Leon

He has promised to take the fight to Trump after Feinstein angered progressives for saying that she hoped Trump could be a quote good

president

So it's on meanwhile Hillary Clinton continues to play the blame game over her loss last year some of our newest excuses well

brexit and a guy by the name of nigel Faraj

the amount of

fabricated false information that your voters were given by the

Campaign well I'm not as familiar with but I'm very familiar with

What the leave side said because they transported a lot of that on behalf of

Trump you had you know what's Faraj campaigning for Trump and the like you know the big lie is a very

potent tool

Here to react former UK Independence Party leader and Fox News contributor Nigel Faraj the big lie Nigel

It was all you it was all a lie no all a conspiracy to defeat her. Oh absolutely

I mean I'm a terrible person

I'm an acceptable human being as she said I was very sorry she didn't call me deplorable. I would have enjoyed that

Is it interesting I mean she's going around the UK selling her book at 20 pounds of copy?

Clearly the Clintons haven't made enough money yet

And it's all about why she lost the election and it would appear that

Brexit the phenomenon of brexit

Which spilled across to the USA is the reason she is the reason that she lost and?

She's basically saying that I lied to the British electorate and what she's doing here

It's not just defending her own position, but acting as the High Priestess of the globalist movement

she wants to reverse brexit I

Tell you what it's a she's making a sad. Sorry spectacle of herself well when she says

The amount of fabricated false information, you know she wants to say hashtag fake news, but that belongs to the other guy

Well, that's right

He does and the honest truth is that if you look at her record and her husband's record

Via on NAFTA beard on China beer are many other trade deals

they consistently told the American people these deals would be good for America and they turned out not to be and

remember that had Hillary become president she wanted America to join as she described it a

Hemispheric common market Hillary sees the European Union as a prototype

For a bigger form of global government, so she hates brexit

She hates me

And she thinks it gave Trump the edge

How much relevance does she have now?

She's traveling the world blaming a lot of people say she's blaming everyone else that she lost the election how much rel

Relevance does she have oh? Yeah? I mean none of this is her fault

I mean she can't recognize the fact that her own sense of entitlement is what put off so many American voters

I I don't think she's hugely relevant unless

Unless she's deciding perhaps to have another tilt at the presidency now

She denies she denies that in public, but if she's not doing it

Why is she going around the world making these big political arguments that she wants everything that happened in 2016 to be reversed?

She also famously said that she wanted a borderless world

I mean isn't she the one that sort of in front of you know which audiences will speak their language of globalism

But then try to go to the voters and hide it that strikes me as a lie

well

BREAKING NEWS TRUMP 10/16/17 ,HOT CASES , NORTH KOREA NEWS , Hillary Clinton , Obama - Duration: 18:14.

It's Mitch McConnell Monday a majority leader will sit down with the president in vice president today

For what they're calling a working lunch if we're successful Mitch McConnell's fine if we're not we're all in trouble

There's a time and season for everything and right now

It's a season of war against a GOP establishment the sergeant bowe bergdahl is expected to plead guilty to charges of desertion

misbehaving before the enemy and

Endangering his fellow soldiers to me justice is life in prison President Trump is ending Obama care subsidies to insurance companies

This is the equivalent of a health care arson

he is

Literally setting the entire healthcare system on fire the president's not gutting the Affordable Care Act what the president's focus on middle class families

Who are paying thirty to forty thousand dollars a year for premiums?

He's calling it. The know fairly Colin Kapernick filing a grievance accusing NFL owners of colluding to keep them off the league respect our country

Respect our flag I gave him the great legislator stuff promotions a terrible thing, but clearly somebody has to do it

We're glad you're happy to be here

Okay, yeah, maybe sick we wish you all the best Brian will be check in on you later. That's right

Thank you very much for joining us here on this Monday morning

As we just heard in the cold open Grif depicted today as Mitch McConnell Monday because the president United States and Mitch McConnell

They've got a crazy relationship

Well, they're gonna have lunch today, and they got lots to talk about although

They did apparently talk together on the phone on Saturday. We talked about taxes

They talked about the budget, and they talked about it looks like health care

I was surprised this meeting didn't happen earlier when the health care when they didn't get repeal and replace after three tries

I'm surprised that the president say get your tail in my office now

I think there was a cooling down period effort maybe they needed that the president's saying you couldn't get anything done for me

so instead he took two you might say his pen and his phone took some executive actions on the Iranian deal decertification this week as

well as

Selling health care across state lines if you can't repeal and replace Obamacare

He said we're gonna create associations so that individual Americans can get cheaper plans because Obamacare is crushing them

I read a number of articles online over the weekend that talked about how this president is trying to

Erase all traces of Barack Obama's legacy

You know regarding those things Iran and also health care look the Democrats are all

Invested in the health care and Nancy Pelosi was on this week over the weekend where she made it very clear

They would like to do something - particularly extend those

insurance company bailouts, which the president calls them or subsidies as the Democrats call them because they

The Democrats feel that's the only way to have affordable health care going forward. Yes, Senator Chris Murphy

Also was speaking out about it over the weekend here of both of them Nancy Pelosi and Senator Murphy both obviously Democrats listen to this

What he's doing is hurting the American people isn't about policy. We have a path in the Senate

Democrat at least I wonder if he even knows

What that path is?

Because from what he says it doesn't sound like he has knowledge knows the facts basis his decision on evidence

They have the majority in the House and the Senate and the president's signature

They have the power to keep government open. This is the equivalent of a health care arson

He is literally setting the entire health care system on fire

Just because the president is upset that the United States Congress won't pass a repeal bill

That is supported by seventeen percent of the American public

Okay, newsflash. I don't remember anybody saying in the last couple of years. You know Obamacare is working great. Yeah obviously

they've had to do something and now the president has just

gotten frustrated with Mitch McConnell and company not being able to do anything in the Senate side of the

Congress, and so what's he gonna? Do he's gonna cut off those subsidies. He's just pushing for a hard bargain

This is what he does he negotiates me

He forces their hand that's right

And you you talked about the Obama legacy right President Obama set out to fundamentally transform

America which a lot of voters and Americans didn't want because they love America president Trump's trying to restore it in health care the markets

Are so distorted premiums have gone up so bad choices are so limited you have to take dramatic actions if you want to restore market-based

solutions that bring costs down

So President Trump because Mitch McConnell couldn't get it done in the Senate took to his pan and said we're gonna allow people to form

These associations, but the Democrats are so it's so predictable

They impute the motives, and they say no you're hurting the American people you hate people right here

Literally Chris Murphy needs to check the name the the definition of the word literally not literally setting anything on fire

He's giving people real and new choices well conservative

Groups are now asking for Mitch McConnell to step down so going back to that working legend

They're gonna have today Steve Bannon was giving a speech on Saturday over the weekend to a group of

Conservative religious type people and he said he needs to step down we need a new leadership

Listen to us. It's a season of war against a GOP establishment

We need to move with urgency

the president United States deserves respect and deserves their support

And you can come to a stick a microphone and you can say I am NOT gonna vote for Mitch McConnell for Majority Leader

See now what he's talking about right there as we do talk about the war on the Republican establishment

And we've put that picture of Mitch McConnell because clearly he is in Steve bannon's

Crosshairs because there are there are seven

Incumbent Republican senators up for reelection he is targeting six of the seven the only one he likes is Ted Cruz

but the two conditions for the

Requirements for the Senators is they've got to end this filibuster vote to end the filibuster and the other one is they've got to disavow

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, they got to say you know what he's not doing a good job. He's got to go well

I knew Stevie Annan had a lot of power obviously working in the White House

I didn't know he had this much power we winning went to Alabama to

Talk about Jeff Sessions Senate seat that was available

He won that election or his guy did and now he's going on this on this

I guess across America tour to try to get rid of the leadership in the government and it might work because it's not just the

Power of Steve Banta it's the power of the grassroots you go to any grassroots event these days

And I speak at a good number of them there. There's no constituency for Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan right now

there's constituency for president Trump and

Overturning the system that isn't working right now

This will be a midterm election

referendum on Mitch McConnell Steve Bannon

Understands that they also know there's 10 vulnerable Democratic states in the Senate

So they've got an opportunity to pick up seats if they run the right I liked what Lindsey Graham said over the weekend

He said you know McConnell's not the only problem. We all are the problem

He said we have failed we promised to repeal

Obamacare repeal and replace we failed we promised to cut taxes yet to do it

We are in trouble, and we might lose the majority sure that's true McConnell is just the face of failure

Responsibility, which just flies in the face of the hand they've got I mean they've got the majority in the Senate and in the house

And they own the White House, and they can't get anything done. Maybe they just don't want this president to succeed

I mean that there's also this abiding sense that maybe didn't play their game their way

So why should he get the wins Jimmy Jimmy Kimmel was on?

One of the shows this weekend, and they were yes, and the reporter was asking him if he regrets what he said listen to this

It's a bit of a risk that you're taking talking about that stuff. You might lose the audience like three years ago. I was

equally liked by Republicans and Democrats in the Republican went

Down like 30% or whatever and you know as a talk-show host that's not ideal

But I did I would do it again in a heartbeat, so you don't mind if Republicans turn off your show

I don't say don't mind. I mean I love for everyone

I want everyone with the television to watch the show, but if they're so turned off by my

opinion on

health care and gun violence then I

Don't know I probably won't want to have a conversation with them. Anyway. Good riddance. Well not good riddance but riddance

Being funny to the very end so there he is he's doubling down. He's saying

I do not regret the fact that I have gotten political on my show keep in mind

What was it 20 years ago when Johnny Carson was maybe it was 30 years ago when Johnny Carson was there at the?

Tonight Show

You know you couldn't really tell his politics because he just was an equal opportunity to change Joker

About all that stuff and now you turn on the late nights, and it does late night does certainly tilt to the left. Yeah well

Thank you so much money right now. He probably is at a point in his life where he says

I don't care if I lose the audience

I have enough in the bank

And he sees this as a platform for his son and to speak out for people who other kids who don't have the luxury of

It's not bold or courageous to speak the group think

What everyone else thinks just to dispute Democratic talking points

They want to preach at

America because they look down at America so you can't watch Jimmy Kimmel and have different views on the Second Amendment or how healthcare should

Be delivered even if you have empathy for his child and what he's going through

The real boldness would be a community that stands up and makes fun of Nancy Pelosi saying I'm a great leader

I'm a master legislator like that's hilarious

Make fun of that just has to make sure he understands the health care bill because if he's listening to Chuck Schumer

And that's what the reports are saying that they're good friends, and he's just saying his talking points

But Chuck Schumer was the one whom we aired that soundbite last week who said with a tax reform deal

But taxes are going to go up for

The poorest people and down for the richest people if you read the tax the tax plan that's not at all what it says

So he just got he has to be careful if he's gonna trust Chuck Schumer sure with health care

Yeah, so let us know have you started watching less late-night television now that it has become more political

Or do you love it?

Just let us know friends at foxnews.com

You could tweet us, or you could Facebook Goodwin late-night - laughs right Jillian, and we wanted to watch football without

What's happen do any of that so now we're here on the Monday and hopefully we can be your escape

we do though guys begin with a fox news alerts and serious news happening right now a

Desperate search for a missing person after a massive explosion at an offshore

oil rig in Louisiana at least seven people hurt in the blast on Lake Pontchartrain

That's just outside New Orleans people who live nearby describing the scary moments as it all went down

We were just sitting in my house and the whole entire house shook things fell off tables

Sounded like a bomb dropping

Officials think cleaning chemicals somehow triggers a blast

Firefighters say they finally turned a corner in the deadliest blazes in California history

Calmer winds helping to contain the wine-country wildfires 15 though still burning throughout the state

Thousands of homes have already been destroyed and at least 40 people are dead

But a sign of hope among the destruction firefighters finding this untouched American flag

Surrounded by burned-out homes and ash in just hours President Trump will be back on the campaign trail the commander-in-chief

hoping to help Republicans, South Carolina

Governor Henry McMaster pick up steam to keep his seat the president will headline a campaign fundraiser from McMaster in Greenville today in

November all but 15 of South Carolina's 46 counties went to president Trump

Says she's gonna donate to Harvey Weinstein's campaign donations, but what about all the cash? He gave to the Clinton Foundation?

oh and remember when Nancy Pelosi said this I

Think I'm a great legislator

Self-promotion is a terrible thing but clearly somebody has to do it

Clearly well this morning. She's doubling down. We are not kidding. I'm so glad she did it

I think that the biggest evidence for lack of experience in a job is the President of the United States

I think I'm a great legislator

Self-promotion is a terrible thing but clearly somebody has to do it

Nancy Pelosi taking a hit at President Trump while bragging about herself right first. She was a master legislator now

She's great, but if she's such a great legislator

Why is?

Obamacare such a failure isn't it time for the president to cut off?

Congress as well here to discuss is assistant editorial page editor for The Wall Street Journal and Fox News contributor

James Freeman so James we haven't seen a whole lot of good come out of

What Obamacare is done to the health care market yet? She declares herself a great legislator. Yeah, I'm not so great for

taxpayers for patients for consumers who see the premiums going up

but in terms of achievement she did manage to get this thing through the house in 2010 and

ended up

63 of her colleagues as a result were no longer in Congress again after that fall's election

But I think for the Republicans you have to say she

Did manage to get it done

Then now their job is to try and roll it back

When the president made the decision to end the subsidies for insurers many of Democrats had comments some were act of pure malice

Spiteful the worst thing this administration has done on the own health care yet. What are your thoughts?

Yeah

This rhetoric is so over-the-top these payments were flat-out illegal a not Donald Trump

A federal judge said these are never appropriated by Congress the Obama

administration decided on its own to make these payments

unconstitutional gotta stop, so he's following the law he's

Which I would think ought to be he ought to be lauded for but

the the truth is the subsidies will continue through other parts of Obamacare so

This isn't really saving as much money

But I think it's a signal that he is

Determined to change this law James you say there's another way to make Congress really feel it

And it's the illegal subsidies for members of Congress

I mean they get their own subsidies through Obamacare could that be changed yeah

So the when they were about working on Obamacare Senator Chuck Grassley said

Well, let's let's eat our own cooking here

Let's force members of Congress and their staffs to actually go into these Changez and get health care

And I don't think it anyone probably wanted that in Congress

But they couldn't really say no once he put it on the table. Well, then after it was passed the President President Obama had his

Administration ruled that they could subsidize these plants

Which the law said they couldn't so this is really one that would hurt Congress

I think would motivate them, and I think the president ought to move forward with it. We'll see if he dies all right

Thank you James Freeman assistant editor editorial page Wall Street

Journal and Fox News contributor makes a ton of sense almost a cuvette sex you had two

Members of Congress had used the VA the VA have been fixed a long time ago

Yeah, yeah, thank you very much

James appreciate all right well former White House chief of staff Steve Bannon declaring open season on the Republican establishment

There's a time and season for everything

And right now. It's a season of war against a GOP establishment

So it's draining the swamp really the only way for the President to get anything done. We're gonna debate that next

Quick headlines for you and a Fox News Alert more than

300 people are dead following the deadliest attack in Somalia's history the government

blaming the Al qaeda-linked group Al Shabab for the truck bomb that exploded into a crowded street in the city of

Mogadishu the capital that happened on Saturday the u.s.

Is calling the attack cowardly and what could have been another major attack?

foiled police stopped a would-be suicide truck bomber in Afghanistan's capital

finding two bombs hidden under boxes of

Tomatoes the truck also carrying nearly three tons of explosives in 30 containers the driver tried to get away

But was shot and injured by police Steve. Thanks

Seriously today President Trump is said to have lunch with Senate Majority Leader

Mitch McConnell to figure a path forward as Steve Bannon warns the establishment and calls for Mitch McConnell's removal

It's a season of war against a GOP establishment

We need to move with urgency

the president United States deserves respect and deserves their support

And you can come to a stick a microphone and you can say I am NOT gonna vote for Mitch McConnell for Majority Leader

but is that the only way to get anything done in Washington here for a

Conversation this morning, we've got Katrina Pierson

She is a spokesperson for America first policies in Alex Co net the former communications director for Senator Marco Rubio

Good morning, both of you. Good morning Steve. All right Katrina. Let's start with you. What do you think of Steve Ben's?

Solution to get people on board with the Trump agenda in Washington

blow up the Republican Party establishment

Well, I think Steve it's not the only thing that needs to be done as far as draining the swamp, but it's definitely the beginning

You know we've had a leadership in this country for a very long time that has failed to lead

On these particular topics, and this is a movement that's been going on for the last 10 years

This is not brand new

Mitch mcconnell's someone who's been in office for three decades and can't seem to get the job done

And you have to ask yourself after november when you had a candidate who ran on repealing and replacing Obamacare

And flipped blue states to red right

Why can't we get this done considering the legislation had already passed under President Obama by Republicans all right Alex

She makes a good point

Why can't the Republicans get anything done in Washington?

Forget you say that they got the house to get the White House look. I couldn't I completely share

Katrina's frustration with the current process

I mean It's inexcusable that Republicans haven't passed anything yet

The reason they haven't passed anything yet is because they have such a slim majority in the Senate

We only have a two seat majority, so if we lose two or three senators

Then we're gonna lose on any given boat and that's exactly what happened on health care reform

Where you had three senators vote against it. This is not Mitch McConnell's fault Mitch McConnell is

100% supportive of the President's agenda and has done everything he can to try to get a pass in fact the one singular issue that

President Trump has delivered on so far the support

What's Up with PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION in Germany?! - Duration: 10:11.

Beep, beep! Time to go, so hop on the bus.

Hey everyone! I'm Dana and you're watching Wanted Adventure Living Abroad.

Today we're talking public transportation.

More specifically, public transportation in Munich with a side of some of the little observations

that I've made about the public transportation in other cities, such as Berlin and Hamburg.

And also comparing that with what Mr. German Man has experienced as far as the public transportation

goes in the little village outside of Cologne, where he's from.

Like I said, time to hop on the bus, because the bus is actually the most common transportation

system that I have seen around Germany.

And that goes for bigger cities like Munich, Hamburg, and Berlin, as well as smaller towns.

In fact, the bus is the only mode of public transportation in the village of about 6000

people that Mr. German Man comes from.

But, as would be expected, while Munich is home to over 50 bus lines, Mr. German Man's

village has just four, and those buses don't come every 5 to 20 minutes like the buses

in the city do, but rather more like once per hour.

After the bus, the Underground or U-bahn is the next most abundant mode of

public transportation in German cities.

The U-bahn lines snake through cities like Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, and Frankfurt.

And most of the time, as the name implies, these trains run underground, but sometimes

they do run above ground as well.

And speaking of above ground trains, Germany also has S-bahns, which stands for suburban

trains in English and Stadtschnellbahn in German, which literally means

"city quick train."

Now for this one, I can really only speak to the S-bahn lines in Munich, because I don't

have experience using the S-bahn in other cities, but basically here in Munich, the

S-bahn extends further out of the city than the U-bahn does, and, therefore, it covers

more distance.

In Munich, for example, the airport is pretty far out from the city center, and there are

two S-bahn lines that connect the city with the airport.

But watch out when taking the S1 to the airport, because that train actually ends up splitting

and only the compartment that says on the computer screens on the outside Airport/Flughafen

will bring you to the airport.

It's usually the last compartment, but it could sometimes not be that one, so it's just

best to check on the screens.

To make sure you're in the right part of the train.

And then there is the tram.

Trams are trains that often go on the same road as the cars.

So they're kind of like buses, but on rails.

And ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, bonus time!

As a bonus there are also bikes to rent all over the city of Munich.

At first the bikes were only available with the Deutsche Bahn, which is also the company

that runs the S-bahn, but since 2016 the MVG, which is the company that runs the buses,

trams and the U-bahn in Munich, has also installed bike rental stations all over the city.

As I interpret it, the Munich public transportation network is centered around the S-bahn and

the U-bahn, which are kind of in a star formation radiating out from the city center.

Then the tram and bus lines connect the different U-bahn and S-bahn stops throughout the city.

But due to this set up, sometimes it can be a little bit inconvenient to get from one

point outside of the city center to another point outside of the city center.

Unfortunately, this is the case for Mr. German Man going to work, when he doesn't ride a bike.

Perhaps if there were a direct connection between these two points, it would only take,

like, ten minutes or so to get from one to the other, but

what could be, like, a ten minute journey, ends up taking 30 to 40 minutes because he has to go into

the city center, and then take another line back out

in order to get there with public transportation.

The public transportation ticket system in German cities confuses the heck out of me.

There are day tickets, week tickets, month tickets...which okay, that's not so confusing,

but then there are also tickets for short journeys and long journeys.

And you have to know where the journey starts and begins, and what's a short journey and

what's a long journey.

And then there are these so-called "Streifenkarte," strip tickets, which you can use part of or

all of for longer or shorter journeys.

And you can mix and match.

And yeah, it just confuses me, and I'm really grateful that now more and more German cities have

an app where you can get the ticket on your phone, and you can just put in there where

you're leaving from and where you're going to and it gets you the correct ticket that you

need. It's so much easier because also these ticket rules vary in Germany from city to city.

So I'm really grateful to have that.

That did not exist when I first moved to Germany.

And it was really confusing for me to figure out which ticket I needed and how long it

was valid for.

So instead of me spending time trying to explain it all, I will put a link down in the description

box below to the English website on how the tickets work here in Munich, and instead I

will use this video to give some other tips that would have been helpful for me to know

when I first visited Germany.

First of all, the public transportation in Munich is divided into rings and sections.

The rings spread out from the city center, and rings one through four make up the so-called

"Innenraum" section -- the inner district -- and as a tourist I spent most of my time

in that inner district.

But something good to know: not when going to and from the airport.

Like I said before, the Munich Airport is actually way outside of the city center and so when

going from the city center to the airport, you actually cross through a lot of rings.

So you're going to have to buy a ticket that covers more rings if you

want to go from the city center to the airport.

And another thing that totally, totally tripped me up when I visited Munich from Prague is

that in Prague the public transportation tickets were by time.

So a "day ticket" in Prague, was literally 24 hours.

Not the case in Munich.

In Munich, you buy a day ticket and it counts for that day, and then until 6 a.m. the next day.

So it doesn't matter in Munich if you stamp your day ticket at 9 a.m. or 8 p.m., in Munich

your day ticket is valid for that day and until 6 a.m. the next morning.

Also don't forget to stamp your ticket.

Usually.

Sometimes when you buy, for example, a day ticket, depending on where and how you buy

it, sometimes it will print out with the date already there, and you can only use it for

that day, but for most tickets you need to stamp them in the little machine in order

to validate them.

And if you don't do that you are riding illegally. And what could happen?

Well from time to time people dressed in normal clothes will suddenly whip out their badges

and start checking for tickets on the public transportation, and I believe that nowadays

the fee in Munich is 60 euros.

So, yeah, don't forget to stamp your ticket.

And buy a ticket.

Don't forget to buy a ticket and don't forget to stamp it.

And then there are also tourist tickets that are available.

They're valid for a certain number of days, and they are available as inner district tickets

or whole network tickets, and then with these tickets you also get a discount at some of

the tourist attractions around the city too.

So my question for you is: Does the city where you live have public transportation?

And if so how complicated is it to buy the right ticket?

And for people living in a place without public transportation, do you wish you had it?

Miss USA And Her Special Guest Take On The Flying Lantern Experiment - Duration: 1:27.

Hi there i'm Kára Mccullough, Miss USA, and I'm here with my guest scientist

Lia!

For this next project we're going to do a Flying Lantern

Remember, always have adult supervision

and goggles

The materials you will need are: one, a lighter

and a tea bag

Three, a tray.

Our ending will look like this

So we're actually going to light this up

Don't Play With Fire

We're gonna take our tea bag, gently open It and pour out all the contents

And then we end up with this

How's it gonna fly?

Wait and see

Adult supervision, we're going to take our lighter and light the tea bag

To get our flying lantern

Wow

Oh my gosh

It's lighting up

So you may be curious how that worked.

It's just like a hot air balloon

The tea bag is cylindrical

What was your favorite part of that experiment?

When it flew

Until next time, Kára McCullough, Miss USA signing off and...

Lia!!

4 English Sayings I REALLY HATE - Duration: 9:29.

Time is money. Actually, you know what? I don't think it is.

Hey everyone, Dana here! Let's talk idioms that drive me up the wall.

Eh, eh, you see what I did there?

Idioms that drive me up the wall, drive me up the wall is also an idiom, uh-huh…I know.

I'm corny.

But anyway, really, there are some common English sayings, at least commonly used where

I'm from in the U.S., that I just can't stand.

I really hate these sayings.

I hate the sayings and I hate what they mean and I hate how they are used in our society today.

Maybe at some point in time these sayings made sense, and served an important purpose,

but in my opinion, how they're used today is simply not good.

I don't like the ideas that these sayings represent or I don't like how I've often

experienced these sayings being used.

And let's start with the saying that I mentioned in the intro, time is money.

As with many sayings, this one just kind of gets tossed around so much - time is money - that

I've found it really easy to internalize it and without really even realizing it, just accept the

idiom as some kind of fact of the world or inevitable certainty, but that's not the case.

It's just a saying, not a fact.

But hearing it over and over and over again, time is money, time is money, time is money

kind of brainwashed me.

Like I found myself just kind of buying into this idea that time is money.

That we shouldn't waste time because we need to be using that time to earn precious money.

I hate that this idea has wormed its way into my brain.

First of all, don't even get me started on the phrase "wasted time," I don't

like that one either, but anyway; how ridiculous is the saying "time is money," getting

at that basically any time not spent toward earning money is wasted time.

Um, excuse me, no, what kind of crap is that?

There are countless, endless beautiful and wonderful and important things to do in life

that have nothing at all to do with making money.

So if I never, ever hear this saying again I will be very happy, but I know that's

probably not going to happen because as I said before, it's a pretty common saying

and one that I think people just often toss out without, I would say, really thinking

about the implications of what it actually means.

I know that I have certainly done that before.

I've used this saying so much without really thinking about it.

And that's exactly the problem.

People keep repeating over and over again, time is money so often that the world, I feel

like, actually starts to believe it.

But so I'm going to do my little tiny part in striking this saying from my vocabulary.

I'm going to try really hard not to say time is money.

Time is time and money is money, but no, time is not money.

And while we're on the subject of money, another saying that I really don't like

is "money can't buy happiness."

Now, okay, I do feel like this saying has good intentions, trying to remind people that

happiness doesn't come from money alone...although we do need a certain amount of money in this

world in order to live.

But okay, the saying is there to try to remind us that we need to look inward for our happiness

rather than just expecting money to simply poof, solve everything and make us happy.

But it really irritates me and I think is potentially dangerous that this saying is

so commonplace and so often tossed out in a world where the previous saying, that I

just finished pulling apart - time is money - is also so ubiquitous.

It's like, come on society, you can't have it both ways.

One moment you're standing there telling me time is money, don't waste your time

on anything else.

You gotta go earn that cold hard cash.

And then in the next breath I feel like society is looking down at me, shaking its head in

disappointment, like, silly Dana, everyone knows money can't buy happiness.

Then why did you just tell me time is money? It just feels to me like the world is

tugging me in two completely conflicting directions

with both of these sayings existing in the same world and both of them being used so often.

What do you want from me?

Another saying that drives me crazy is "it's now or never."

Nope. Wrong. Wrong. Just...wrong.

In my life more than anything else this saying and the idea behind this saying has been used

by myself as well as by others to try to pressure me into doing things that I simply have not

been ready to do at that point in time.

And while, yes sometimes it really is truly a now or never situation, a lot of the time,

in my experience, when this saying has been used by me on myself or by others on me as

a way to try to pressure me into doing something, it wasn't actually, truly a case of

now or never.

It was really usually more of a case of now or at some other point in time in the future,

which would probably end up being a little bit more inconvenient to myself or the other

person trying to pressure me into doing the thing.

And the last hated English saying for this video, because there are more, there are more

of them, and maybe I'll make another video about some of those other ones in the future,

but lastly for this video, we have "don't cry over spilled milk."

So this saying is supposed to mean that the person shouldn't worry about events that

have already happened and which they cannot do anything about, like, for example, if you

spill milk, no point sitting around crying about it because, well, it's already been

spilled...there's nothing you can do about it, might as well just move on with your life.

And while I do think that it's important to try to focus on the things that we can

do something about in life, and try not to dwell on the things that we can't do anything

about, I know that in my life both internally from myself and externally from others, this

saying has been used to try to discourage me from allowing myself even a single second

to be disappointed or frustrated or sad about something, just because that something is

something that I can't change, it's something I can't do anything about, so I'm not allowed

to feel disappointed about it.

Which I am learning is also not so healthy for me.

Okay, right, it might not be so healthy for me to dwell on it, but I've also learned

that it is important for me to allow myself to feel the feeling of disappointment of sadness

of frustration or whatever it is I'm feeling.

Even if that feeling comes from something that I can't change.

I still need to give myself some time to feel that feeling.

And then after that, make the decision to move on with my day.

So my question for you is: What is your take on these sayings, and what sayings in English

or any language do you dislike?

Please let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, auf Wiedersehen!

I'm like jumping an invisible jump rope. I don't think that's how jump ropes work.

When this saying has by...yeah.

Eee!

As with many sayings, feels...yeah.

Pretty clever I think. I know I'm corny. But I like it.
