John Elway can't help himself when it comes to acquiring bad big-name quarterbacks

The Broncos GM and president has spent the years since Peyton Manning's retirement looking for an answer at quarterback and failing terribly to do so

There's been Brock Osweiler (twice!), Trevor Siemian, Case Keenum and first-round bust Paxton Lynch

On Wednesday, the Broncos repeated their pattern of laughable quarterback decisions and traded for Joe Flacco

The former Ravens quarterback is 34 years old and coming off a season that saw him lose his job to Lamar Jackson

Trump slams Beto rally as 'less than 1,000 people' in blatant under play of rival's event size - Duration: 6:28.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday slammed the crowd size at Beto O'Rourke's counter rally, falsely stating there were 'less than 1,000 people' after photos show many more at the event

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said O'Rourke, who's considering a 2020 bid against him, 'failed very badly' on Monday night with his counter protest

'From what I hear he had less than 1,000 people,' Trump said.'We had a massive crowd and my competitor had very few people

' He also said he had many thousands more outside: 'We probably had 25,000 people outside the arena

' Crowd size for O'Rourke's rally, which took place across the street from Trump's event, varied from between 7,000 to up to 15,000 but all the estimates are well above the 1,000 people the president claimed were there

MSNBC reported that an estimated 7,000 people attended O'Rourke's event, while Bloomberg News reported that El Paso police estimated a crowd of between 10,000 and 15,000

Trump's slam of his possible 2020 rival comes after the El Paso Fire Department late Monday denied the president's claim that officials gave him special permission to pack more people in to his rally than the El Paso County Coliseum allowed

'If you would say, as an example, that tonight 69,000 people signed up to be here,' Trump said in El Paso Monday night

'Now the arena holds 8,000.And thank you, Fire Department. They got in about 10,000

Thank you, Fire Department.Appreciate it.' Fire Department spokesman Enrique Aguilar told the El Paso Times that no such permission was given and the coliseum only had the 6,500 capacity that it holds

Aguilar noted there were thousands outside the coliseum who could not get inside.Aguilar said attendance 'might be 10,000 with the people outside' total, but the Fire Department did not track the number of people out doors

During his remarks Monday night, Trump also said he had 35,000 people while O'Rourke had a few hundred

'A young man who's got very little going for himself except he's got a great first name

He challenged us.We have, say, 35,000 people tonight, and he has, say, 200 people, 300 people,' Trump said

'Not too good.In fact what I would do, that may be the end of his presidential bid

' The president has repeatedly compared the size of his crowds to those that attended O'Rourke's event, vastly over inflating his numbers while under playing the turnout at the rival event

The two men held dueling events 200 yards from each other in El Paso Monday night on the U

S.-Mexico border.Trump was arguing for the completion of his border barrier while O'Rourke argued walls don't keep the country safer

O'Rourke, whose unexpectedly close but ultimately unsuccessful campaign for U.S.Senate generated buzz about a 2020 presidential bid, said last week he will decide by the end of the month whether to run

In a taped interview with Oprah Winfrey in New York, O'Rourke, 46, appeared to be leaning toward a 2020 campaign for the White House but said he would make his decision after consulting his wife and three children

'I have been thinking about running for president,' he said, prompting wild applause

'I'm so excited at the prospect of being able to play that role.' He did not mention presidential politics in his rally Monday night but Trump did

'A young man who's got very little going for himself except a great first name,' the president said of O'Rourke

He then poked fun of O'Rourke for losing his Senate bid against Republican Ted Cruz in the 2018 midterm contest that turned the young congressman from Texas into a social media star and got his name mentioned in presidential circles
