Descended from the Dark Jedi who founded the Sith Empire, Naga Sadow was born on the capital
world of Ziost, growing into a powerful force user who specialized in alchemy and sorcery.
An ambitious man, always looking to expand the limits of his knowledge and abilities,
he studied ancient and forbidden arts, learning to extend his life and create mass illusions
in his hidden Citadel on the moon of Khar Shian.
Guiding him in the ways of the Dark Side was the Sith Lord Simus, a man so powerful he
was struck down in a duel for leadership of the Empire, but survived as a disembodied
head.
Going on to serve as a wise and respected member of the Sith Council, Simus trained
Naga Sadow, and supported his ambitions, becoming a friend and ally.
After growing his reputation and raising his own armies, Sadow grew so influential he was
allowed to join the Sith Council, serving during the golden age of the First Empire,
under the legendary Dark Lord Marka Ragnos.
Yet while the Dark Lord brought about an age of unmatched prosperity and riches, Ragnos
chose not to expand the borders of the Empire much further, as he did not want to risk being
discovered by the Republic.
And while Naga Sadow accepted the decision of the Dark Lord and respected his authority,
he did not agree with his policy, believing that it would eventually lead to stagnation
and the weakening of the Empire.
As a result of his expansionist views, he became a bitter enemy of Ludo Kressh, a more
conservative Sith Lord who agreed with Marka Ragnos and did not want to risk destroying
what they'd created.
After the Dark Lord died of old age, he was entombed in the valley of the dark lords on
Korriban, where Naga Sadow duelled Ludo Kressh to determine the next leader of the Empire.
Yet as they fought, the spirit of Marka Ragnos appeared and revealed how they were once jedi
who were defeated in battle and exiled from the republic.
Although he did not endorse a specific candidate, he warned them that the fate of the empire
was at stake, and that the wrong decision would lead to ruin.
When the spirit departed Ludo attempted to make peace with Naga Sadow, only for the Sith
Lord to refuse.
Yet as they argued, a ship of unknown origin suddenly descended and landed nearby, with
two humanoids emerging who greeted them and started talking about establishing trade relations
with the Galactic Republic.
The force sensitive siblings Gav and Jori Daragon, were born in the core worlds of the
republic, and trained as jedi when they were young, but abandoned the order seeking riches.
Over the years they fell on hard times, and lost their ship after accruing debts they
could not pay.
Refusing to let that stop them, they stole back their ship and jumped away into unknown
space to escape their pursuers.
Still hoping to open a new trade route that would bring them wealth, they landed on the
first populated world they found, which unfortunately was Korriban, during the funeral of Marka
Ragnos.
Immediately arrested, a meeting of the Sith council was called to discuss the fate of
these trespassers, with Ludo Kressh wanting to execute them at once, while Naga Sadow
wanted to interrogate them, and use their knowledge to plan an invasion of the republic,
in order to expand the empire as he so long desired.
Yet even with Lord Simus in his corner his words did not persuade the council, who sided
with Ludo Kressh.
Refusing to accept their decision, Naga Sadow chose to act alone, gathering his warriors
and breaking out the prisoners, all the while staging it to look like an attack from the
Republic, even killing his former master Simus in order to leave no witnesses.
At the next meeting of the Sith Council, naga Sadow feigned surprise when he learned of
the attack, and insisted that they must now unite under his leadership to destroy the
republic before they could strike again.
Although Kressh continued to oppose him and refused to commit his faction to their war,
most of the council hailed Naga Sadow as the New Dark Lord of the Empire, and prepared
their forces for the invasion of the Republic.
In order to deal with Ludo Kressh and his followers, he tricked them into attacking
a decoy target, only for Sadow's fleet to descend upon them crush their forces.
Although Ludo survived, his forces were vastly depleted and so he went into hiding, leaving
Sadow as the undisputed Dark Lord of the Sith.
Back on Khar Shian with the humans Gav and Jori, Naga Sadow was uncharacteristically
kind, treating them respectfully and pretending to care about their well being.
Through his schemes he kept them separated, taking Gav as a sith apprentice and teaching
him the dark side, while Jori was allowed to return to the republic, escaping on her
ship during the battle with Ludo Kressh, and thereby leaving a trail for the sith to follow.
With his enemies crushed and the might of their people behind him, Naga Sadow was so
confident in his victory that he left the empire practically undefended, bringing the
entirety of their strength against the republic.
In addition, Sadow stationed himself in a meditation sphere in the Primus Goluud system,
where he used his powerful sith sorcery to project large scale illusions that made their
forces seem ten times larger than reality.
The Sith then attacked against the Republic in the Great Hyperspace war of 5000 BBY, and
while Jori Daragon had told Empress Teta of the Koros System about the impending invasion,
they did not have sufficient time to adequately warn the republic and prepare their defenses.
When the attack came, it was brutal and unrelenting, with the Sith slaughtering their enemies and
the republic struggling to organize and deploy their forces.
Striking at the heart of enemy territory, the invaders went after core worlds like Kirrec,
Cinnagar and Coruscant.
Having taken them largely by surprise, the Sith seemed unstoppable until Gav Daragon,
the apprentice of Naga Sadow, had a confrontation with his sister and saw the error of his ways.
Abandoning the dark side, Gav flew a ship to Sadow's meditation sphere and opened
fire, thereby distracting him and allowing the republic to discover they were being tricked
with illusions.
With fresh reinforcements from the republic arriving, the Sith lost their momentum and
started to lose ground.
Defeated and furious, Sadow locked Gav in the sphere and left him to die, before he
was forced to lead the remnants his mighty sith fleet back to the safety of the empire.
Yet the catastrophe of the Dark Lord's campaign had not yet run its course, as Ludo Kressh
awaited them in Sith space with a new army at his back, declaring himself the new Dark
Lord as Sadow failed and brought them to ruin.
After another brutal battle in which Sadow lost much of his forces, he was finally able
to kill his old enemy, only for Republic forces to then arrive, as Empress Teta ordered her
fleet to follow the Sith and wipe them out once and for all.
With all lost, Naga Sadow fled with a single ship, eventually finding the moon of Yavin
4, where he established a secret base, determined to begin his efforts anew.
During his years on forested moon, Sadow continued to study sith sorcery and alchemy, experimenting
on Massassi slaves, and creating new lifeforms like Sith Wyrms.
Though some of the Massassi warriors rebelled against the Dark Lord, he massacred them and
went on with his experiments.
Eventually, after extending his own life for centuries, he placed himself into suspended
animation, awaiting the day he might bestow his knowledge upon a worthy apprentice and
help form a new Sith Empire.
In 4400 BBY, such a student appeared, when Freedon Naad discovered Sadow and trained
as his apprentice.
When Naad had learned all that he required, he killed his Sith master, and moved on to
follow his own ambitions, yet Sadow was so powerful that his spirit lived on, and even
inhabited the body of Jedi apprentice Eison Gynt, centuries later, until he was killed
by his master Barel Ovair.
Although defeated once more, Sadow's spirit continued to haunt the planet of Yavin 4.
