(light upbeat acoustic guitar music)
- To be able to read, to be educated, to drive a car:
These are basic functions.
They're so critical in our community.
We have thousands of families that are left behind.
They don't have access to basic healthcare or vision care.
- We are looking for glaucoma, cataracts.
We are looking for high blood pressure and diabetes,
which we can see inside the eye.
And we had lots of people who just couldn't see
'cause they didn't have any glasses.
- When you don't have the insurance to get the glasses,
you're on a fixed income and you can't get 'em,
then it's real hard.
When I got the glasses and I could see,
that was the most exciting for me.
- And so, that's why I'm grateful
for the important work of the volunteer doctors
who participate in efforts like this one
to ensure that more members of our communities
can get access to basic vision care.
- I love making people see.
