USA news on Youtube Dec 21 2018

Hello fellow travelers, Herman here from Vojagante!

Today I take you with me to the most famous prison in the world, Alcatraz in San Francisco!

After a short boat ride we arrive on the isle, were a ranger welcomes us.

We're now inside the prison. Here are some cell blocks.

Here the D Block... The section for severely punished prisoners.

Those who broke the rules must go here.

There are claims this part should be very haunted, especially cell 14.

So let's have a look...

So, let's see if we encounter a ghost in this cell...

WHOHOOOO!

I don't see a ghost :)

Maybe the ghost went to the other cell next door. Let's have a look here...

The prisoners here were totaly isolated.

They were 24/7 (for the time of their punishment) in the dark...

...an ideal situation for ghosts, but I don't see them!

And there was also a prison library in Alcatraz.

And here we're in one of the other cell blocks.

Gun Gallery...

Here the guns were stored, because the guards were not allowed to go armed to the prisoners.

Because a prisoner could take the weapon and take the jailer into hostage.

Here a jailer that died during an escape attempt.

Here some cells that were inhabited by illustrious people like Al Capone.

Here a look in the freedom... A great view at San Francisco!

So the prisoners could see what they missed.

Sometimes the prisoners were visited. Then they were allowed to talk to them through these shutters.

The office of the prison staff.

And this is a uniform of a prison guard.

A look outside...

There is also a ruin of the old director's residence on Alcatraz.

We're now outside. It was very windy, as you can see on the flag (and here on the noise).

The upper galeries were closed for public.

Here they tried to break out.

As far as known, nobody escaped from Alcatraz.

However, there are some prisoners that escaped from their cells. There has never been heard anything from them...

Probably they drowned in the bay.

They came through the hole in the wall in this space between the cell blocks...

Then they will have climbed the roof.

Here another stair to the top galleries, which is also closed for public.

A metal detector.

Let's have a look in the dining room.

It was said that they could let this dining room run full of gas in the event of an uprising.

What's on the menu today?

Here's the kitchen where the food was prepared.

We're now in the hospital section of Alcatraz.

This section is restricted to the public.

This is the operating room.

This part of Alcatraz is very neglected. Looks like urban exploring :)

Another great view over the bay.

A look into freedom!

We walk down to the boat that will bring us back to freedom...

But first we will have a look on the old director's residence.

Well, it seems the director is not at home ;)

Here ends my video from a visit to Alcatraz, the most famous prison in the USA...

Probably the most famous prison in the world.

I see you next time, on another interesting location.

Bye!

10 Vitamix Recipes for DIY Jar Gifts - Duration: 3:07.

Do you need a last-minute gift idea because you're a super procrastinator like I am?

Do you have a tiny jar like I do?

Here's 10 things you can put in a tiny jar last-minute for holiday gifts this season.

Ready. Maple pecan nut butter. It's like the most delectable, salty, sweet combo.

Chimichurri. Delicious. Not everyone's had it.

It's just a bunch of green things mixed in with olive oil. Delicious.

Vegan Carmel. It's dates pretty much. Carmel sauce.

Put it in a jar and then put it on ice cream.

Our peanut sauce. We use this on our spring rolls.

My brother would take a bath in it if he could, so he would be very happy recipient of our peanut sauce.

Speaking of my brother, his salsa recipe. Absolutely delicious. Really different than other salsas. Smoky.

That is a really really fun holiday gift. And it's red, so.

A nut butter that I call Monkey Butter.

It has those like freeze-dried bananas in it. Amazing.

Pesto! Kind of easy. Everyone's had it.

But it's really appreciated when it's in the fridge. Especially when you put it on a sandwich.

Chickpea cookie dough. It doesn't really taste like cookie dough, but it is really tasty.

Instead of using flour you use chickpeas, so it's kind of a healthier version.

And this is about as much as you would want to eat of it.

Giardiniera! I don't know if this is a Chicago-specific thing but it's pickled vegetables chopped up into

little pieces, cauliflower, hot peppers, other things that I can't remember now.

We gave it to everyone in an even tinier jar for our wedding favor. So if it's good enough for our wedding,

it's good enough for your friends over the holidays.

The last one which we think is the best one by far is our world famous queso.

It's cashew queso, so it's plant-based. Even your non-vegan friends will appreciate it.

It's best if warmed-up. So a glass jar is perfect to put it in.

Or you could get really creative and make bath salts and stuff in one of these, too.

I don't have a recipe for you for that.
