USA news on Youtube Dec 10 2018

The Holderness Family has a simple solution to the debate over what to do with holiday classic "Baby, It's Cold Outside" in the age of #MeToo: tweak the lyrics

The viral video stars, known for their parodies, such as "All About That Baste" and "Baby Got Class," are back with "Baby, Just GO Outside," which features dad Penn Holderness, wearing a festive blazer and singing in front of a retro microphone and a Christmas tree, singing with a woman who's off-camera

Some of the lyrics: "I really can't stay…" "OK, you're free to go." "I've got to go away

" "Understood. No means no." "This evening has been…" "Super appropriate." At one point, Holderness even encourages the woman to text her mom

He tells her, "You are in control of this thing." In the seven hours after it was posted Monday morning, the clip generated 13 million views on Facebook

Viewers raved about the updated version of the tune, with one fan noting that it was a version that could be shared with daughters

Another commenter hailed the video as "THE INTERNET WINNER FOR 2018… and 2019!" "Nailed it

But only consensually," one commenter cracked. When another fan pointed out that the singer probably shouldn't have used the word baby at all — "His line should have been 'Maybe, just go outside,' she noted — Holderness agreed

"YES! You are so right, I'm having one of those George constanta realizing-the-joke-on-the-way-home moments

" The original version of the song, written in 1944, is being scrutinized for its lyrics and, in some cases yanked from radio stations, because of the scene it depicts and the questions it raises about consent

In it, the woman sings lines such as, "The answer is no" and "Say what's in this drink?" But not everyone's against the song

A San Francisco radio station is reconsidering whether to shelve  it after receiving backlash for its decision

CBS This Morning host Gayle King defended the tune on the air Thursday. "I want to say to people — it was a Christmas song that was written years ago

I think you have to look at the intent of the song and when you look at the intent, to me, it's a very flirtatious back-and-forth between the two of them," said King, adding that she thinks today's audiences are reading something that wasn't intended into the lyrics

" Susan Loesser, the daughter of the song's author, Frank Loesser, told NBC News on Thursday that she blames Bill Cosby for changing attitudes about her dad's holiday classic

"Bill Cosby ruined it for everybody," Loesser said, alluding to the actor's April conviction for sexually assaulting Andrea Constand after slipping a drug into her drink and the accusations from dozens more women that he did the same to them

"Way before #MeToo, I would hear from time to time people call it a date rape song

I would get annoyed because it's a song my father wrote for him and my mother to sing at parties

But ever since Cosby was accused of drugging women, I hear the date rape thing all the time

NO ESCAPE FOR MUELLER THIS TIME ,MUELLER'S WORST NIGHTMARE CAME TRUE - Duration: 11:57.

NO ESCAPE FOR MUELLER THIS TIME ,MUELLER'S WORST NIGHTMARE CAME TRUE

The Supreme Court 'Gamble' case is putting all the power in Kavanaugh's hands, and

Mueller's in trouble.

Looks like it's possible—though unlikely—that Trump's new Supreme Court pick can decide

the fate of Muller's probe.

It's possible that the people under the gun by Mueller—and pardoned by Trump—might

be hit again with state charges.

That is, if Kavanaugh makes the deciding vote on a new Supreme Court case.

From Fox News:

At issue in the case heard Thursday is whether and when being tried in state and federal

courts for the same crimes is permissible.

Under a current constitutional exception, it has been allowed for years…

The intriguing relevance to Mueller's investigation would be if one of the defendants charged

or convicted in the broad investigation — such as Trump's former campaign chairman Paul

Manafort — were to be pardoned by the president for various federal offenses.

Would a state then be allowed to pursue its own separate charges, including tax evasion

or corporate fraud?

In certain cases, a person can be tried twice for the same crime, despite the fact double

jeopardy is illegal under our Constitution.

The exception comes if someone is tried once by a federal court and again by a state court.

It's an ugly loophole, but one that's been upheld for over 170 years.

A current case, being decided by the Supreme Court, might overturn this precedent.

If that's the case, then a pardon by Trump—for say Paul Manafort—would mean he's free

from future convictions.

SHARE if you think the Mueller investigation is corrupt!

As it stands now, Manafort might avoid a federal charge, but be in danger of a state trial.

People are looking to Brett Kavanaugh, whose vote might sway the court's decision.

In the past, he's voiced concern that changing this exception would make it harder to prosecute

certain crimes, such as sexual and domestic violence cases.

It also might invalidate the sovereignty of states.

But he's also expressed concern that keeping the current conditions violates a citizen's

Constitutional rights.

As it stands now, Trump is in favor of keeping the loophole, as it would overturn years of

how our government's operated.

But, as you can see, it's a complicated issue.

One that we can't avoid.

TREY GOWDY WIPES THE FLOOR WITH HILLARY CLINTON ,THIS IS THE END - Duration: 14:57.

TREY GOWDY WIPES THE FLOOR WITH HILLARY CLINTON

,THIS IS THE END

FBI Director James Comey's announcement he was reopening the investigation into Hillary

Clinton's email server was the ultimate October surprise.

Hillary Clinton and her team reacted by lashing out at the FBI Director.

But Congressman Trey Gowdy had an amazing response to the Democrats whining.

When Director Comey sent a letter to members of Congress informing them the Bureau had

uncovered new emails pertaining to Hillary Clinton's server while investigating top

Clinton aide Huma Abedin's husband for sending illicit messages to a 15 year old-girl, the

trajectory of Hillary's campaign changed.

The media could no longer push the narrative that Hillary was coasting to an easy victory.

And in the face of falling poll numbers, Clinton and her team responded by attacking the integrity

of the FBI Director.

The New York Times reported Hillary Clinton had lumped Director Comey in with Republicans

as the partisan opponents she must overcome in her campaign's final days:

"Campaigning in Florida, Mrs. Clinton appeared to group Mr. Comey's surprise role in the

presidential race with the flurry of partisan attacks that often mark the last days of political

campaigns.

Without mentioning Mr. Comey by name, Mrs. Clinton struck a defiant note; at a nightclub

in Wilton Manors, she invoked her mother's admonition to "never, ever quit."

"We won't be distracted, no matter what our opponents throw at us," Mrs. Clinton

said.

"We're not going to be knocked off course.

We know how much this election matters, and we know how many people are counting on us."

She also blasted the decision at a campaign stop in Florida.

Clinton, in Daytona Beach, calls Comey's letter "unprecedented" and "deeply troubling"

— Phil Mattingly (@Phil_Mattingly) October 29, 2016

Harry Reid claimed Director Comey violated the law by showing political favoritism to

Republicans by not releasing supposed "evidence" that the Russians were interfering in the

election.

And Clinton surrogates – all the way from campaign manager, Robby Mook, up to Vice Presidential

nominee, Tim Kaine – took to the Sunday shows to declare they were "puzzled" by

Director Comey's decision.

But Trey Gowdy was having none of it.

The only reason this is a story is because Hillary Clinton broke the law by setting up

a private email server.

Fox News reports:

"Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) believes Hillary Clinton has no one to blame but herself for

the FBI's newly reopened investigation into her private email server.

On "The Kelly File" tonight, Gowdy said the whole situation is "extraordinary,"

but that's because Clinton had an "extraordinary email arrangement" while she was secretary

of state.

"She is the author of her own destiny," Gowdy said.

"Everything that has happened since then is the natural, probable consequence of deciding

you're going to have a rogue email system."

"I understand she's upset, and I understand she doesn't like the timing, but she need

look no further than herself."

He also released a statement applauding Director Comey for informing Congress about the discovery

of the new emails.
