DIY CHRISTMAS TREE ADVENT CALENDAR - Duration: 7:24.
Hi everyone and welcome another week!
Today we will see how to transform an old pallet intro a Christmas tree advent calendar easily
Before continuing I recommend that you see the previous video of the Christmas series

With this advent calendar you can decorate your tree every day with a special adornment
and your Christmas tree will look prettier than ever, since you have done it with your own hands

Christmas tree advent calendar
The first step is to draw the shape of the tree.
We will help ourselves with the painter's tape to do it easily.
After this, we will wear protective gloves so as not to cut ourselves
and we will begin to cut it with the help of the electric saw
In the description below I will leave you the one I use and also the rest of the materials and tools you can use.
Cut the pallet respecting the last table, which will serve as a base and cut it into a square shape.
Once we have a side of the cut tree, we will turn it around and cut the back part.
Remove the leftover parts and go!
The third step is to sand our whole tree very well to restore the wood and cut the damaged parts.
You must insist on the edges and sides to remove any splinters.
We will also sand the boards
in my case, the pallet was painted white so I did not need to paint it but when sanding it has left a very cool aged effect
so I recommend you paint it before sanding it if you like this effect
The fourth step is to burn the veins of the wood to get a burnt wood effect
that will be very consistent with our Christmas decoration.
Use a kitchen torch to do it
You can get them very cheap on the internet, below I'll leave the link where I got mine
The wood of my pallet is made of pine so when burning the veins, some parts burn more than others and the effect is very beautiful.
The fifth step is to apply wax.
I used a dark wax to give it an aged effect and mark the veins of the wood while protecting it.
Use an old cloth to do it.
As you can see, some parts of the wood absorb more wax than others, it is also due to the paint.
This effect will be beautiful once we put the lights on the tree.
The sixth step is to apply a metallic paint, it can be silver, gold, bronze ... depending on how you like your Christmas decoration.
I have used a silver-gray color and I really like how it has been
The next step is to varnish all parts of our tree to close the pores of the wood and protect our tree.
This way you can also clean it easily.
You can use a matt colorless varnish like me or one with a satin or shiny effect.
Once applied you should let it dry a couple of hours
To prepare our advent calendar we will need Christmas decorations, tokens and paper envelopes.
Put a token in each envelope until you reach number 25, which is Christmas day.
Then, put your ornaments inside the bags.
The next step is to attach a pair of tweezers to our tree with the help of the silicone gun.
In this way we can hang our envelopes.
Taking into account that the tree has 6 rows, we will place the tweezers distributed by the tree so that in total it totals 25.
Place the numbered envelopes to be opened each Christmas day.
Now we have our christmas tree advent calendar ready!
We will open each day a new envelope and we will place the corresponding adornment until Christmas day the tree looks beautiful!
