hey guys welcome back so since my last video on the shadow gaming service lots
of you were leaving comments asking for more gameplay footage or just to see the
shadow in action now here we can just see me on my ultra laptop which has an
integrated graphics card and I'm trying to play the latest version of doom I'm
just doublechecking here to see all of the settings are set to ultra which is
the maximum settings for this game which will give us the best possible graphics
when playing this now as my laptop has an integrated graphics card it means a
comm plate the latest generation games and as now I can play any of these games
on high or very high or epic honor settings because I just don't have the
graphical the GPU power to drive these games however as we can see here because
I'm using shadow on my laptop I'm actually making a connection to a gaming
PC in their cloud now what is the shadow service so shadow is a gaming PC held in
the cloud which you can access from pretty much any device anywhere anytime
as long as you have an internet connection you can access your gaming PC
and play the latest games on maximum settings and let's just be clear that
shadow is not just a games library streaming service because there are
other services out there like this where you can pay a monthly subscription and
you get access to a bunch of predefined games that you can play now shadow on
the other hand gives you access to a fully functional Windows 10 computer in
their cloud so not only can you install and play whichever games you want to
play you can also use it for productivity for example if you don't
have any kind of video editing go in a content creation if you honor here
browse the web if you want to do live streaming basically because it's your
computer you're pretty much free to do what you want on there there's nothing
like any of the game streaming services out there right now and the key thing to
mention here guys unlike general cloud computing your resources your CPU your
RAM your disk none of these components are shared with
anybody else they're dedicated just for you so when you log in to your computer
that's your computer with those resources just for you including the
main part which is the GPU so all of those components are dedicated just for
you and that does make a massive massive difference so in terms of specification
you get an Intel Xeon CPU which has eight dedicated
threads just for you you get 12 gigabytes of RAM you obviously get the
gtx 1080 or equivalent graphics card and in my case i did get the full of gtx 980
you get 256 gig of dedicated storage and you get Windows 10 home and just talking
about the specifications of your shadow machine another good thing about the
shadow is is that you get free hardware upgrades for life that means your shadow
machine that you connect to is always kept up to date now if we just compare
that to let's say for example somebody purchases their own gaming computer so
you buy it and it's great but then in a couple of months time a latest video
card comes out or you know a new processor comes out and you're now
running slightly older hardware but with shadow your hardware is always kept up
today and I know for example in the UK the shadow are doing hardware upgrades
to the CPU so the CPUs are being upgraded to the Intel Xeon to 667 so it
just means that you can have that peace of mind that the hardware that you're
connecting to is always been kept up today for you automatically now in terms
of how do she connected shadow to access your gaming PC well here we can see I'm
using my Windows 10 computer to access the shadow service but you can also do
this from a Macintosh from an Android device and Android tablet or an Android
phone they also have clients for iOS and also learn it's in terms of support
ability and connectivity pretty much all of the major platforms are supported and
it should be able to access a shadow service using any of them but of course
you do need to have internet so if you turn accesses from a place where there's
no Wi-Fi no phone signal this is definitely gonna work for you now in
terms of minimum requirements they say 15 megabit Internet is the minimum
although in the shadow clone you can't select low off like five or ten but but
the video stream does become very compressed and you will see love color
burning so I really would not recommend that but at the same time on your mobile
phone if you do have a strong enough 4G signal you can access shadow wherever
you are and carry on gaming yeah so this is a cool bit in the game so you just
get into a lift you're checking out your glove you're clenching your fists here
let me just do that as well there you go and then you see a message
from this doctor he's basically telling you the coolest stuff that's happened on
the planet it was justified because of some crazy reason and that just makes
you really angry as you can see in playing crazy now
and then you see this it's got some cool music so as mentioned right now I'm
gaming on my Windows laptop but if I wanted to occur basically for up my
Android phone connect to the shadow service and carry on exactly where I
left off because in both cases we're connecting to the same virtual machine
in the cloud so I should just be able to connect to that and carry on let me just
demonstrate that now and there we have it guys I've literally just started the
shadow app on my android phone plugged in my Bluetooth Xbox controller and I
can now carry on gaming wherever I want so I'm not tied into my laptop I'm not
writing to my Wi-Fi my phone is providing the signal and I can just
carry on gaming like I never stopped so this would be a good time to mention
that the shadow service does support the mark soft xbox controllers natively and
you can also use the PlayStation 4 controllers but you need to install some
drivers first but both of them do work flawlessly once you have them up and
running and I know some people do prefer to play with the controller compared to
a keyboard and mouse but not me now one of the biggest concerns with any kind of
cloud gaming is input lag now how does import like effect the fact that we're
using a PC in the cloud now of course this is not a scientific experiment but
we can see here we can see pretty much as soon as I press the mouse click we
can see my gun is actually being fired now input lag basically means I wanna do
press the button on the mouse that signal has to go from the mouse onto my
laptop then from the laptop over the Internet
onto the shadow PC where the shadow PC understands our Pravda button and then
it fires a gun so so you can imagine if there was a long latency or you can
imagine maybe if the shutter piece he was slow to process these commands it
would cause a delay but as we saw guys pretty much as soon as I press the
button my gun was being fired so but once again I'm not saying this is a
scientific experiment but more or less what you can see with the naked eye it
does seem to be pretty instantaneous so I guess the real question is do I think
that everybody should go and get the shadow service I personally think that
this can be broken down into three different types of people now if for the
first kind of is a serious game you know he or she
loves tinkering they love customization they always build their own pcs they
never buy anything off the shelf they just love that customization or quite
simply if you have a very unreliable internet or maybe you're in a part of
the world where you are too far away from the officially supported data
centers which you can see in a screen now if this is you then shadows not
gonna be for you right now now the second person he does enjoy gaming he's
a somewhat serious gamer but he doesn't necessarily want to spend 1500 or 2000
dollars on a new gaming setup on top of that even if he did buy that he doesn't
want to then have the headache of constantly upgrading constantly
repairing if that something goes wrong that kind of upkeep and maintenance he
doesn't want to do that he does have good internet and he wants to play the
latest games from any device shadow is definitely worth checking out if you're
that kind of person I would definitely recommend checking
yourself especially because there's no long term contract so you can try this
out for a month see if it works for you and if you don't like here you can
cancel no problems but if it does work well for you then this is something you
could keep for a very long time so the last person is a casual gamer so he or
she does like playing games maybe not every day but you know they would like
the flexibility of being able to play a new game if it was out there they would
like the flexibility of you know having access to a powerful computer so maybe
if they do video editing or they need you know certain processing power that
they may not have in the current computer so again in this scenario I
would recommend trying this out because you could see does this shadow box have
the power that I need because I have the bandwidth and accessibility to do the
things I want to do and if it does great and if it doesn't cancel the contract
least you know you're not tied in for anything long term if it doesn't work
for you you can just cancel the contract on top of that yes you have a ten dollar
discount code so if you do sign up using the link in the description both of us
will get $10 off our next billing cycle so instead of paying $30 to try this out
you could try out for 20 and see if it works for you well that's all for this
video guys appreciate you watching till the end do leave a like we found a
useful if you do have any questions about this service or if you have any
comments you want to leave do leave them below and I'll hopefully catch up with
you guys real soon
