Just in case: it was not the only cookie in the packet :-)

At an altitude of 11 kilometers the thunderstorm looks like this

huuuge "anvils" (it is border of troposphere)...

How to understand whether there will be a thunderstorm? If you see fast growing cloud and it continues its growth after it reaches the troposphere border then it is thunderstorm cloud.

After ~2 hours of flight we had a good lunch

There were two options of lunch: regular and vegetarian

SkyMax Star feedback - Duration: 3:14.

Hey guys! Fast forward about a week after I got

the SkyMax. It's all assembled. I've actually had several flights on it but

they've been short and it's just been mostly a matter of trying to dial things

in with the weight shift arms and torque offset that they use. So far I've been

pretty impressed, surprisingly so. It's taken partial power forwards with no

problem and one, probably, I don't know, 3/4 power forward pretty well. I was

worried about this nylon taping they use for the netting, maybe, hanging up on

the lines. Didn't seem to be an issue though. I could see it,

you know, after time maybe wearing on the line sheeting of the paraglider but, you

know, the flip side of that is I do like this external netting attachment way

more than rivets. I hate rivets. I hate haven't replaced

netting with rivets. Super light. Comes in at about 50 to 53 pounds with the

Moster plus and a Dudek harness dry. It did take a butt landing. My second flight

on it I came in on some super wet grass and burned in, you know, to do my flare. I

usually flare real low and just my feet were just like wooo!.. gone and came down

on my butt and it did pretty well. I was... I was really impressed. I'm gonna do just

a quick sort of summary on this SkyMax Star frame. All my wing is maybe

trying to dry out the sun from soppy wet grass. Overall I liked it. I liked the Sky

Max Star frame. Probably, a little bit of an apology to..believe, his name is Kevin.. who I

said, you know, this frame would be a terrible beginner frame,

and never hold up... You know, I look at that thing and it's just so

spindly looking and it's not gonna hold up to power forwards and butt

landings and all the abuse that a beginner could give it, but yeah... Jump on

that thing I think it would be a great unit. Overall I think this is a pretty decent

frame and I think it's definitely worth it's money. I mean a little crow on this

just because I was so skeptical beforehand and jaw shaking really. kind

of told me to put my money where my mouth was and that's okay, you know... You

know I'm.. I'm glad that there's another frame that's worthy out there, because

there's something out there that just your kind of junkie. You know, you guys

decide for yourselves, I'll probably keep flying this thing for a while. I

like it.

Human Trafficking Growing At A Rapid Rate In America - Duration: 11:02.

Human trafficking is a problem that's getting worse all around the globe.

In the United States, the number of people being forced into modern day slavery is growing

at an alarming rate, and so far, lawmakers and law enforcement officials have barely

made a dent in the number of people being bought and sold.

Today, trial lawyers are trying to change the landscape and hold the businesses that

are aiding human traffickers, hold them accountable for their actions.

Here's how bad the problem has become.

In the US, cases of human trafficking have increased in all 50 states.

A similar trend is happening all around the globe, and while there are certain groups

that are more at risk than others, the sad reality is it can happen to anyone, anytime,

anywhere.

Reports show that illegal human trafficking has now surpassed the illegal sale of transport

of firearms across the globe, and it's turned into a $32 billion industry.

Joining me to talk about that is Rebecca Timmons.

Rebecca, look, you're at the front of this right now.

You can't say it's new litigation coming out of the civil end of this, but it is relatively

new where you have civil lawyers trying to step in and fill the gap for what's been left

out there by government or law enforcement.

As you're looking at it, give me your idea of how you would quantify human trafficking.

What is human trafficking?

Give us an idea what the problem is and how bad it is today.

Human trafficking is the use of fraud force or coercion to force somebody into some form

of forced labor, whether that's commercial sex, forced labor in other sectors of agriculture

or a restaurant business or hospitality business.

In other words, there's no one definition.

You can have purely sex trafficking.

You can have sex trafficking/labor trafficking.

You can have labor trafficking.

There's a specialty in each area, isn't there?

There are people that … It's almost like a corporate structure, isn't it?

A human trafficking victim, they can be picking vegetables.

They can be cleaning hotel rooms.

They can be forced into prostitution.

It takes all kinds.

It comes around in all kinds of different forms and fashions.

Who are the victims?

We have this notion.

We see the movie, Taken, and you've got Liam Neeson playing out this part where his

daughter has been trafficked and we think, well, this is the unique way this happens.

People are just pulled off the street, and they are, by the way.

They are.

That story is actually based on some real life cases of women who have been trafficked,

but it also falls into other kinds of victims, doesn't it?

Who are the people that we expect to be targeted?

Human traffickers, they're predators.

They don't care about how young a victim is, their socioeconomic status, their ethnicity.

Anybody can become a human trafficking victim.

When it comes to the most disturbing form of human trafficking that's going on in the

United States, which is the sale of children for sex, overwhelmingly those victims are

homeless children, and these are kids, they're victims before they're even trafficked.

They've come from homes with physical abuse, sexual abuse and verbal abuse, all before

they get put up on a corner to work.

In other words, as you've analyzed this case, and you're obviously handling these cases

and will be for a while because this is a new area of litigation, relatively, you have

some lawyers out there that have done a really good job.

As a matter of fact, they're going to be in a program that I'm doing out in Los Vegas

where we're actually presenting how bad human trafficking is.

We're reaching out to civil trial lawyers and saying to them, "Get involved."

The point is this.

In order for a trial lawyer to understand they can help, they have to understand who

are these people?

Who are the people that do this?

Where do they come from?

How are people brought into human trafficking?

Just give me I guess like a 10,000-foot list of what it looks like.

Well, human traffickers, they use the same tools and infrastructure that you and I use

every day.

They use airlines, hotels to carry out their criminal enterprise.

The most powerful tool that a human trafficker uses to lure victims is the internet.

Often, they will find victims on social media, and whether its promises of friendship or

relationship or just attention, that's how they gain the trust of the victim.

Then, the traffickers will turn around and sell the victims on marketplaces online.

It's not just a product of a pimp bringing a girl into the business.

The calls we're getting now, this is an amazing thing that we're actually seeing the edge

of, it's called the Romeo Predator.

Explain what the Romeo Predator is.

How does that work?

How does it bring people into this trafficking business?

We most often see the Romeo Predator in child sex trafficking, and that's where a human

trafficker will make contact with a victim and lead them to believe that they will be

treated special and that they will have a special relationship and that their lives

will be much improved by reaching out to this predator and becoming involved with them.

The place they send this Romeo Predator, is this … If I'm the guest, this is one of

the most common things that I've seen as we've started looking at this litigation.

It is where they send out some good looking kid.

You got somebody on the street.

They approach that child on the street, the homelessness and for teenagers on the street.

It's an appalling number.

You probably know the number.

I don't know it off the top of my head, but it's an appalling number.

At any rate, the Romeo then approaches that person, brings them in, gets their confidence,

says, "I'm going to make your life better," and then almost step by step in little gradient

steps brings them into trafficking.

Is that how you see this?

Yes.

That's a very accurate description of it.

What have we done as far as laws?

What is it that we're doing now to actually have any effect on all this?

It seems to me that the internet process, the internet system has gotten a free pass.

I think Twitter has gotten a free pass.

I think Facebook has gotten a free pass.

We saw Backpage hit.

Backpage was closed down.

These are internet services.

This is not the dark web we're talking about, is it?

Explain the differences here.

Human trafficking can happen on the surface web and the dark web.

When you say the surface web, that's a web anybody can-

That's the internet you and I know, what we can access with our browsers on our desktops.

This is your Google, your Facebook.

You can type in an address in a search engine and it'll take you there.

The problem with monitoring the surface web and the issue that prosecutors and trial attorneys

have come across is that it takes a lot of manpower to monitor every single post on a

third-party platform and parse out what's a legitimate ad and what's an illegal one?

Let me interrupt you there because I think really what we're seeing is the attitude of

trial lawyers that are looking at this and saying, "You know what?

I don't care.

I don't care that it's difficult."

If you build a car, you have to have breaks that work, so what does that do?

Putting brakes that work, cuts into the profit margin to run the car, to buy the car, to

have a car that works.

You have to have steering that works.

That cuts into the profit margin because it has to be done right.

I have very, very little sympathy for the internet argument that, gee, it's just overwhelming.

We can't do this.

Sorry.

You're in the business.

There is AI that's out there that you could use, artificial intelligence you can use.

There's monitoring programs that can be used.

They're very expensive and, yes, they may cut into profit margin, but it's something

we have to do.

What is your take on that?

The AI tool is very exciting.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, DARPA, has actually developed an entire program

that is an interface for law enforcement agencies to search what … to not only find ads of

human trafficking victims, but also to locate the people who created them.

Essentially, we're starting to outsmart the human traffickers by relying on this great

wealth of technology and this great resource.

You've got surface internet.

As you say, everybody's got it.

My position is … I don't know what your position is.

My position as this litigation goes forward is I really don't care, Facebook, that you

can't keep up with it.

If you're in the business, you need to figure out how to keep up with it.

It may cut into your profit margin, but you need to figure it out.

Dark web, we can do very little about.

What is your take on that?

Do you agree or disagree?

No.

I 100% agree.

Certainly, we can do a lot less on the dark web than we can with the surface web.

We have the Department of Defense leading the charge on that.

It is a huge technological undertaking.

As far as the surface web, those tools used on the dark web could easily be used on the

surface web as well to hold third party or websites accountable for third-party content.

You see a cause of action there that maybe could develop.

Oh, absolutely.

What are the numbers?

Real quickly, what are the numbers that come to your head about trafficking in America,

the number of people that fall into that?

Where do they fall?

Well, it's hard to know.

It's an illegal … It's a criminal enterprise, so the numbers are always going to come with

that caveat of what's reported.

We hear 350,000 a year.

You hear 9,000 reported cases last year through the National Institutes of Health, Human Trafficking

Hotline.

That's one hotline.

That's one hotline.

9,001 hotline.

The projections that I've seen tells me that human trafficking across the board, not just

children, the general human trafficking, it could be as high as 300,000.

Have you seen that number?

Easily.

The only tangible evidence we have right now comes from what we see with this hotline.

I got to tell you this.

Outraged by the Wall Street Journal.

They have some cat that writes with the Wall Street Journal trying to say this is about

nothing.

Well, this idiot has done these stories, they call investigative stories that says, oh,

this is much overstated.

I'd like to know what he's relying on.

You've seen the articles.

You know who I'm talking about.

The Wall Street … not Wall Street Journal.

Washington Post.

The Washington Post is coming out with this position, oh gee, this isn't as bad as we

think it is.

It's actually worse.

These new statistics are showing it's worse than we thought it was two years ago.

Are you seeing that develop?

Oh, absolutely.

Just looking at the testimony of some of the parents of victims and the victims themselves.

There's no denying that this is happening, and there's no way to know the full scale

of it.

I think it's ludicrous to say that it's overstated.

Yeah, I don't think it's overstated at all, and I think it's going to continue to get

worse.

Becca, thank you for joining me.

Okay, good luck on this.

You got a lot of work to do.

Thank you.

The State of Intellectual Freedom in America | House Judiciary Committee Testimony - Duration: 5:10.

- Mister Tedesco for his five minutes.

Mister Tedesco?

- Thank you, Mister Chairman,

I appreciate the opportunity to testify before you today.

My name is Jeremy Tedesco.

I'm Senior Counsel and Vice President

of U.S. Advocacy with Alliance Defending Freedom.

ADF is the nation's most respected legal organizations

defending constitutionally-protected free speech

and free exercise rights for all Americans.

Since 2011, ADF has won nine cases

before the United States Supreme Court,

involving issues like legislative prayer,

school choice

and the discriminatory treatment of churches.

Empirical SCOTUS recently ranked ADF first

among the top-performing firms

in it's Supreme Court All Stars

2013 through 2017 report

because ADF won all four of it's decisions

before the court

during that five-year period.

In addition to it's Supreme Court work,

ADF Center for Academic Freedom

has won over 400 victories for free speech.

Ensuring that the college campus remains

a marketplace of ideas

for millions of students and faculty.

We live in a time

when the need for productive civil discourse

has perhaps never been more urgent.

Yet at the same time,

the obstacles to achieving it

have never seemed more insurmountable.

We appreciate this committee's leadership

in fostering a commitment

to robust debate and dialogue.

ADF, too, is committed to cultivating a society

typified by the free speech

and free exchange of ideas

and respect and tolerance

for those with whom we disagree.

These deeply-rooted constitutional principles

are essential in a diverse country like ours.

They enable us to peacefully coexist with each other.

Sadly, several of the most influential technology giants,

many of which are integral to the daily lives

of millions of Americans

are endangering the vitality

of these core American principles.

Silicon Valley's digital gatekeepers

have frequently represented their platforms

as committed to free expression

and creating an open marketplace of ideas.

But, as my written testimony details,

as we've heard today,

they've broken their promises

by restricting conservative

and religious speech over and over again.

The recent push to restrict what they call hate speech,

exacerbates this threat

because invariably Silicon Valley and others

apply the hate speech label

to traditional,

widely-held views they disagree with

on a range of important topics,

like immigration,

abortion,

marriage and sexuality.

These companies further intensify

the threat to conservative and religious speech

by collaborating with far-left advocacy groups

like the Southern Poverty Law Center

to enforce their hate speech policies.

Commentators across the political spectrum agree

that SPLC is a biased, agenda-driven activist group.

Kimberley Strassel wrote,

"SPLC exists to spear conservatives

"and tags you as a hater

"if it doesn't agree with your views."

Left-of-Center Politico

published an article

in which it noted the long-standing criticism

that SPLC is becoming more of a

partisan-progressive hit operation

than a civil rights watchdog.

SPLC's credibility took another enormous hit recently

when it issued a public apology

and paid at nearly 3.5 million dollars

to settle a threatened defamation lawsuit

by Muslim reformer Maajid Nawaz,

who SPLC had falsely labeled

an anti-muslim extremist.

Yet despite knowing SPL's clear,

SPLC's clear bias and partisanship,

tech companies continue to collectively partner with SPLC

and embrace it's intentional smear campaign

against mainstream conservative religious views

held by millions.

These actions contradicts these companies promises

to cultivate civil discourse

and free exchange of ideas

and deceive the members of their online communities

and consumers who rely on these promises.

ADF itself has already been the victim

of this troubling arrangement.

Earlier this year, Amazon excluded ADF

from the Amazon Smile program,

which promises customers they can donate

a small percentage of their purchases

to the charitable organization of their choice,

solely because SPLC wrongly labels ADF a hate group.

Amazon likewise bars many other conservative

and religious charities

by relying on SPLC's biased labels.

This is only the tip of the iceberg

on how these companies can impact the marketplace.

We know from recent news

that they sometimes act in concert

excluding disfavored speakers

from multiple platforms all at once.

The power they wield over free expression

and information access is deeply troubling

and has real-world consequences

for those caught in the cross hairs.

We understand that there's no easy solution to these issues.

But, at a minimum, Congress should hold additional hearings

and use it's considerable influence

to encourage Silicon Valley companies

to abide by the representations.

They shouldn't promise an open

and robust marketplace of ideas,

but then collaborate with biased

and discredited groups like the SPLC

to shut down one side

of an ideological, intellectual debate.

Thank you, and I'm happy to answer any questions.

- Let's go,

thank you Mister Tedesco.

one already while driving there you're totally creaming me hey it's your game

fine wait for me I'm gonna get you for this

nights over that was pretty weird huh okay

I understand yeah I mean it was near the dock show though oh yeah I guess that

was kind of weird actually um he called me did before I

don't know to talk well did you tell him we were gone out or where you're going

tonight because otherwise he'd show up so you did so sort of I mean we were

talking and he's being nice so you invited him to come along no that's not

what I'm saying it's yes what I was doing and I just told him I guess that's

great I have no control over what he does so why did he show up tonight I

don't know do you think he's trying to get back with you no because it just

seemed strange how do we just show up like that after you guys just broke up

you're very clearly we're not thinking especially about me relax

I thought you wanted to spice things up a little bit

I wanted to spice things up in our lives to our lives I didn't say to add

somebody to the mix can't believe you trying to tell me something I'm not

turning anything around look if you can't deal you're just gonna have to

make some other kinds of arrangements who could deal with this I don't know

maybe somebody a little bit more open-minded than you I'm not gonna argue

with you in front

it just happened didn't you know I'm not really sorry that it did I just feel

like I needed to let loose for a minute and yeah I wasn't thinking but that's

the point I wasn't thinking I just I am without a clue here I just feel like I'm

going along for the ride and maybe that's what I needed to do is this you

or is this some sort of Lilith Fair anthem god you're not even listening to

me yes I am you think that having free

license to go screw whoever you want to some sort of post college requirement

maybe I don't think oh yeah maybe that's exactly what I was saying is that you

should be a little more open-minded we're in our way not in Minnesota right

we should drop all of our standards because we live in Los Angeles I'll tell

you what why don't you go do some hooking and I'll do a few drive-by

shootings huh Dave I like us and I really want us to work this out you

gotta trust me here do you remember that camping trip that we took last summer

yeah so I think that had to be one of the best vacations they have had I don't

want us to have that again and we don't things have really changed between us

and we need to face that I'm sorry if my way of dealing with things is a little

bit different from yours but I don't know what else to do

so if you want us to stay together I think that we need to make a few changes

with us you know maybe set a few ground rules both of us should be able to sleep

with whomever we want whenever we want but we can bring them back here just so

that neither of us would are gonna feel like we're sneaking around behind the

other's back dr. bata either of us have any guilt oh that's it those are the

rules that's all that's all I've seen you flirting with those college girls

oh come on Katie you know the ones who hang out at the restaurant

I just did a minute I know that you've wanted to take one of them home Katie

that's innocent flirting that doesn't mean I want to bring one of them home to

bang them yeah but now you can I don't understand how sleeping with other women

is gonna help our relationship I don't either but I think we should go ahead

and stop thinking and start living theirs are the best thing guys we have

any more chips cuz either really cousin

well looks like I win hold on a sec you gotta give me another chance this time

you're going down I've never changed completely under my nightgown to be

juicy okay I've never fallen in love ha I knew I could get you on that one

maybe no way I'm not into that whole thing waiting by the phone

dueling your first name with his last name watching movies of the week you're

really getting into it

you guys are like Siamese twins joined at the genitals it's just sex

it's this personal philosophy I have I like the hot dog without the bun I don't

get it look my point is just that love only complicates things I mean you can

have sex anytime you want why mess it up by getting emotionally attached to the

guy because it gives you a reason to have sex to share yourself with somebody

by sharing you can have an audit yourself I just use a vibrator all the

time then batteries getting expensive Rory let me see you're bleeding no it's

nothing it's no big deal we should take you to the hospital no

it's okay it's fine are you sure yeah happens all the time

worse it happens worse I had a way where some mom what I lost a whole platoon I

was on point stepped in I claim both legs and my brother playing with a

shovel in the tree and stitches and against

from Macau it was on my uncle's farm I had to get 10 stitches see wow that

looks like that God had really straight teeth barbed wire I tried to pet the cat

I kind of pushed me into a fence I was six

this is kind of scary

so you're only with air cuz you're chief that's romantic

I like Eric I mean he's fun mmm but eventually if I get bored or find it

meeting somebody else I don't want to feel guilty about dumping him and

breaking his heart what if Eric breaks up with you first no

way why not because he's in love with me all I'm

saying is that if you're using him it is possible that he's using you back right

I guess so well then your plan works perfectly right no mess nobody cares

okay I really want to get one point in before graduation

yeah okay um I guess I've never they thought about that wait so play

you love me what I'm just curious we have to talk about this

this you actually looking at a buck you only use that to prop up a mini-fridge

I'm joking remember friends sorry I'm just in a

really bad mood what happened let me tell you that actually going to

class is sort of a requirement for graduation err can I had sex today and

that would be different from every other day how we had a big fight I didn't even

get off ah I'm just obsessing over this whole love thing I just I want to know

never answered your question huh you heard us there bunk beds Kiki that's

sensory deprivation tanks right look I don't really get what the problem is I

mean if you don't love him what does it really matter if he doesn't love you

well that's the thing how do I know because you would know and if you don't

then you're not how do I know I'm not just like you so an experience and

shelter that I can't even experience the most basic level of into the seats

thanks for the ego boost

but you've had an orgasm while driving a pickup truck I'd hardly call that an

experienced I mean emotionally look if I was having sex with Eric and I didn't

love him then I wouldn't care if he didn't love me but what is this whole

time I have loved them and I just didn't know it I'm not loving me would be

really sad forget it why don't you just go sanitize something

hey help me a beer from the fridge bro we're all out of beer Rob get the water

tap you sever that Fairfax finest okay that's not you trying to poison me man

looks like you took your chill pills for the evening it's not about you Raleigh

you just happened to be the first guy she grabbed it's nothing special about

it harsh bro you got yourself a hell of a

great chick man it's no boys no okay is um she's something our sex life it used

to be phenomenal I mean really good but lately it's just you know things are

just different I should have seen it coming

and I don't know why I'm telling you this hey I'm all ears brah

hey you want the vibrator back you know I don't really have any use for it and

you do seem a little tense No did you try fantasizing um I just

really don't think it's gonna work for me you have to relax you too

you know it's really hard to feel anything when you're so busy

intellectualizing you think I'm an intellectual yeah you know in that

primal state of nature kind of way Thanks no problem yeah I really should

quit thinking about my feelings and at least go to that formal tomorrow night

and get my rocks off whoa I can almost hear your head gears

turning I'm almost tempted to invite you to stay home and quiz me on these Greeks

your strange woman hey hot dog bun Hey if you want to get the fires burn bro

you got to play your game if she wants a little something on the side you gotta

have a little someone side too you want to respect you right that sounds like an

ass backwards way to get respect all I'm saying is dude you gotta show her that

you can sleaze her too and then she's gonna call the whole thing off hey check

this right you heard of a place called the wild boneyard sounds like a

restaurant no bro it's this wild crazy dance club in the valley like a lot of

the guys called it come and get boned hard thankfully no oh you miss anavra

all the eager beaver in there bro and the Betty's dude

they told him on it I heard that they place bets and who's in the Atlanta

fires your problems are all over oh you know you just pick up some qu5 you take

it back home huh yeah well I'm a ding-dong

right-hander for the disease or something no you just left a little

raincoat on the boat man down there it's ridiculous Holly I can't even believe

I'm sitting here listening there no no be straight with you man

dude I would never been to the boneyard man I was just trying to get going I'm

glad bro Kiki yeah means Eric coming over I don't know maybe he's not

sleeping alone sucks I can't bounce on the bed or something

oh yeah the obligatory Moe's you want some noise pick up the damn vibrator and

make your own braids

Jenna wait see how I go out tomorrow night yeah okay you sure you want me not

yeah why because I don't want you to ask me unless you mean it

no I mean it okay okay Jenna yeah there's just one more thing I need to

ask you okay it's about you and doc we not talk about

doc anymore it's just like if we're gonna see each other more then you need

to tell doc because I can't go out with you if you're still together with doc so

before we can't even go out again you have to tell me who you like more in

your doc

next time on unrest hey we need to talk about everything no sex and I'll be easy

for you own it you don't like it move out yes what you want to break up with

me do you I don't know well then when you

do know why don't you let me know okay
