Trey Gowdy Made An Announcement That Has The Swamp

In A Panic

The swamp in Washington does not think the rules apply to them.

Enter Trey Gowdy.

His latest move has swamp creatures running around in a panic.

It was reported White House advisor Jared Kushner used a private email account for White

House business.

The left believed this was their opportunity to extract a pound of flesh in revenge for

Hillary Clinton's campaign going down in flames after it was revealed she sent classified

information over a private email server.

Their plan was to use Republicans' outrage over Clinton's use of a personal email account

to drag the Trump administration down in another scandal.

But Trey Gowdy fired off a letter that will help vindicate the Trump administration for

good.

He requested the Trump administration provide additional information to clarify the use

of a personal email account.

Breitbart reported:

"HOUSE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN TREY GOWDY (R-S.C.) HAS JOINED HIS DEMOCRATIC COLLEAGUE

IN PUSHING THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT OFFICIALS' USE OF PERSONAL

EMAIL ACCOUNTS AFTER IT WAS REVEALED THAT PRESIDENT TRUMP'S SENIOR ADVISER JARED KUSHNER

HAD USED A PRIVATE ACCOUNT FOR GOVERNMENT BUSINESS.

THE WASHINGTON POST FIRST REPORTED MONDAY THAT GOWDY, ALONG WITH RANKING DEMOCRAT ELIJAH

CUMMINGS (D-MD), WROTE TO WHITE HOUSE COUNSEL DON MCGAHN AND LEADERS OF TWO DOZEN FEDERAL

AGENCIES REQUESTING INFORMATION ABOUT THE USE OF PERSONAL EMAIL ACCOUNTS.

JASON CHAFFETZ (R-UT) AS CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMITTEE AS IT WAS COMING UNDER INCREASING PRESSURE

TO TURN UP THE HEAT ON THE ADMINISTRATION, JUST AS IT HAD SO THOROUGHLY INVESTIGATED,

IN 2015 AND 2016, HILLARY CLINTON'S USE OF A PRIVATE EMAIL SERVER WHEN SHE WAS SECRETARY

OF STATE.

POLITICO FIRST REPORTED SUNDAY THAT KUSHNER, TRUMP'S SENIOR ADVISER AND SON-IN-LAW, HAD

USED A PRIVATE EMAIL ACCOUNT FOR OCCASIONAL WHITE HOUSE BUSINESS.

KUSHNER RELEASED A STATEMENT SAYING THAT THE EMAILS SENT FROM HIS PERSONAL ACCOUNT WERE

FORWARDED TO HIS OFFICIAL ADDRESS AND STORED IN ACCORDANCE WITH POLICY.

"FEWER THAN 100 EMAILS FROM JANUARY THROUGH AUGUST WERE EITHER SENT TO OR RETURNED BY

MR.

KUSHNER TO COLLEAGUES IN THE WHITE HOUSE FROM HIS PERSONAL EMAIL ACCOUNT," ABBE LOWELL,

A LAWYER FOR KUSHNER, SAID IN A STATEMENT.

"THESE USUALLY FORWARDED NEWS ARTICLES OR POLITICAL COMMENTARY AND MOST OFTEN OCCURRED

WHEN SOMEONE INITIATED THE EXCHANGE BY SENDING AN EMAIL TO HIS PERSONAL RATHER THAN HIS WHITE

HOUSE ADDRESS."

KUSHNER'S USAGE ALSO DIFFERS FROM CLINTON'S IN THAT THESE INSTANCES ARE INFREQUENT, NONE

APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN DELETED, AND THERE WAS NO INDICATED CLASSIFIED INFORMATION SENT.

KUSHNER ALSO DID NOT USE A HOMEBREW PRIVATE SERVER TO SEND THE EMAILS AS CLINTON DID.

YET IT IS LIKELY TO DRAW CRIES OF HYPOCRISY FROM OPPONENTS OF THE ADMINISTRATION CONSIDERING

HOW CENTRAL THE CLINTON EMAILS WERE TO THE 2016 CAMPAIGN."

It is not illegal to use a personal email account if the government official forwards

any White House emails to their government account so they can be preserved.

And Kushner's use of a personal email account is vastly different than Clinton's use.

No one is alleging any classified information was sent.

Nor did he delete emails in an attempt to evade investigators' requests.

Obama's Latest Scandal Was His Worst Crime Ever

The media and the Democrats have created a narrative about the Russians rigging the 2016

election.

Now that scandal has engulfed the Obama administration.

And this may be Obama's worst crime ever.

Many critics have been asking about Obama's response to the alleged Russian cyber attacks.

What did he know and when did he know it?

It turns out Obama may have been warned years in advance of Russia's alleged intentions

to interfere in the election.

The Washington Free Beacon reported:

"The Obama administration received multiple warnings from national security officials

between 2014 and 2016 that the Kremlin was ramping up its intelligence operations and

building disinformation networks it could use to disrupt the U.S. political system,

according to more than half a dozen current and former officials.

As early as 2014, the administration received a report that quoted a well-connected Russian

source as saying that the Kremlin was building a disinformation arm that could be used to

interfere in Western democracies.

The report, according to an official familiar with it, included a quote from the Russian

source telling U.S. officials in Moscow, "You have no idea how extensive these networks

are in Europe and in the U.S., Russia has penetrated media organizations, lobbying firms,

political parties, governments and militaries in all of these places."

That report was circulated among the National Security Council, intelligence agencies and

the State Department via secure email and cable in the spring of 2014 as part of a larger

assessment of Russian intentions in Ukraine, the official said.

There was no explicit warning of a threat to U.S. elections, but the official said some

diplomats and national security officials in Moscow felt the administration was too

quick to dismiss the possibility that the Kremlin incursions could reach the United

States."

But even with this knowledge, the Obama administration did very little to respond.

The Washington Free Beacon reported:

"Wanting to counter suspected Russian interference in American politics, these officials said

that the Obama administration was aware of Russia's activities but did not want to

retaliate forcefully.

As it became clear that Russia was meddling in the 2016 election, officials recommended

expelling diplomats or striking back through cyber measures but were denied.

Some outside the White House blamed the National Security Council's micromanagement, but

NSC officials pointed the finger at the State and Defense Departments.

Those agencies were reportedly afraid of Russian retaliation.

"The frustrations [about lack of forceful action] are justified and, frankly, were shared

by the White House," a former official told Politico.

"The options were being discussed.

They weren't being implemented."

Obama eventually told Putin in person to "cut it out" and his administration released

an October 7th statement accusing Russia of cyber attacks.

But the response raises another question: Was fear of Russian retaliation really the

reason for the weak response?

New forensic evidence uncovered by The Nation revealed the emails from the DNC could only

have been obtained through an inside job.

It was impossible for a hacker to have downloaded them and the evidence points to someone in

the building – and not a Russian – obtaining the emails.

Critics contend the lack of a forceful Obama response is evidence the administration knew

the Russia "meddling" allegation was nonsense.

But they went along with it because it was convenient for Hillary Clinton.

It's another piece of evidence showing the Russia story was fake news concocted by the

Democrats to come up with an excuse for their loss and attempt to sabotage Trump's Presidency.

The Hillary Clinton email scandal is the investigation that won't go away.

She skated having to face criminal charges because James Comey allowed her to walk free.

But the truth behind his shocking decision to take the law into his own hands is finally

Recent reports indicate that Comey had already made up his mind that he wasn't going to

charge Clinton months before the investigation was complete and before Clinton was even interviewed.

In response, Trey Gowdy appeared on Fox News and demanded that Comey testify and explain

himself.

He also wondered why Comey testified in June that the Loretta Lynch-Bill Clinton tarmac

meeting is what forced him to make his announcement if he had already determined not to charge

Hillary.

GOWDY, THE CHAIRMAN OF THE HOUSE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE AND A MEMBER OF THE HOUSE INTELLIGENCE

AND JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, TOLD FOX NEWS' BRET BAIER ON "SPECIAL REPORT" TUESDAY

NIGHT THAT "FOR A NUMBER OF REASONS" COMEY SHOULD RETURN TO CAPITOL HILL AND THE COMMITTEES

NEEDED TO FURTHER EXAMINE THE FBI MEMOS BEFORE HE DID.

"WHENEVER SOMEBODY DECIDES TO CHARGE SOMEONE, THERE ARE LOTS OF LAYERS OF SCRUTINY.

WHEN YOU DECIDE NOT TO CHARGE SOMEONE, THERE AREN'T THAT MANY LAYERS OF SCRUTINY BUT

THERE OUGHT TO BE AT LEAST A COUPLE," GOWDY SAID.

"THE MEDIA SHOULD DO IT BUT ALSO CONGRESS SHOULD LOOK AT THIS DECISION NOT TO CHARGE

AND WHETHER OR NOT IT WAS MADE BEFORE YOU INTERVIEWED TWO DOZEN WITNESSES, INCLUDING

THE TARGET OF THE INVESTIGATION, YEAH WE NEED TO TALK TO HIM AGAIN.

ACCORDING TO GOWDY, THE TIMELINE OF EVENTS AND SOME OF COMEY'S DECISIONS ALONG THE

WAY DID NOT APPEAR TO ADD UP.

HE WAS REFERRING TO COMEY'S STATEMENT DURING HIS JUNE CONGRESSIONAL TESTIMONY IN WHICH

HE SAID THE TARMAC MEETING BETWEEN FORMER ATTORNEY GENERAL LORETTA LYNCH AND FORMER

PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON ENCOURAGED HIM TO ANNOUNCE HIS FINDINGS IN THE EMAIL INVESTIGATION.

"HIS OSTENSIBLE REASON FOR TAKING THAT DECISION AWAY FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE WAS THAT

MEETING ON THE TARMAC BUT YET A MONTH AND A HALF EARLIER HE IS MEMORIALIZING A DECISION

HE'S ALREADY MADE SO THE CHRONOLOGY DOES NOT ADD UP," GOWDY SAID.

"HIS ANSWERS HAVE BEEN ALL OVER THE MAP."

When Comey initially let Clinton off the hook, a then-candidate Trump tweeted that it proved

the system was rigged.

The bombshell that Comey drafted a letter clearing Clinton months before the investigation

was complete adds fuel to the fire that the investigation was nothing more than one swamp

creature looking out for another at the expense of the rule of law.

Trump reacted to this new development by tweeting out that the investigation was obviously fixed

and that Comey needs to explain why his testimony should not be considered a lie.

And with Trey Gowdy also demanding answers, Americans can be confident he will get to

the bottom of this scandal.
