Democrats' Final Plan To Stop Kavanaugh Is The Most Desperate Yet

Republicans and Democrats are pitted against one another once again in the fight to confirm

President Trump's nomination to the Supreme Court.

Brett Kavanaugh could be the replacement for Justice Kennedy if Republicans get their way

and are able to confirm him.

However, Democrats have a plan to block the nomination from going through.

CNN reports that Senator Dianne Feinstein is leading the charge to keep Kavanaugh from

being seated in the highest court in the land:

"The Democrats' strategy, led by California's Sen. Dianne Feinstein, is to demand to see

every document that crossed Kavanaugh's desk while he served as President George W.

Bush's staff secretary from 2003 to 2006.

Republicans are pushing back, hoping to confirm Kavanaugh, now an appeals court judge, by

the time the Supreme Court's next session starts in October.

"'What are Republicans and the White House trying to hide?' asked Feinstein, the top-ranking

Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which will consider President Trump's nomination

of Kavanaugh to succeed retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy.

She said the importance of the records in evaluating Kavanaugh is shown by his statements

that as staff secretary, he 'worked closely with the president and with the senior staff'

and was called on by Bush 'to provide advice on a full range of subjects.'

Republicans say the only records that are relevant to Kavanaugh's qualifications are

the rulings he has issued in 12 years as an appeals court judge, and possibly documents

he wrote as a White House lawyer from 2001 to 2003, but not the voluminous paperwork

that crossed his desk in three years as staff secretary.

Democrats are playing a 'delay game,' said Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas."

Feinstein and her colleges believe that they are making "a very legitimate request"

for access to this extensive amount of records from Kavanaugh's work history.

However, Republicans have understandably responded to say that "that this is a fishing expedition

and you're just trying to delay things."

Democrats always seem to find themselves getting into trouble.

The law doesn't seem to matter to them.

And one Democrat just found himself behind bars for a disgusting crime he committed.

Sen. Brian Joyce, a former state senator in Massachusetts has been on the radar of the

FBI for years.

The 55-year-old Democrat had been suspected of running a criminal enterprise from his

office.

He got on their radar after reportedly gaining $1 million through bribes and kickbacks.

But when the FBI investigated, it turned out to be much worse.

When Sen. Joyce was arrested, he was charged with racketeering, extortion, honest service

fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy to defraud the IRS.

As reported by The Daily Caller:

"FORMER MASSACHUSETTS STATE SEN.

BRIAN JOYCE WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH RUNNING HIS OFFICE AS A "CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE"

FRIDAY, AND IS NOW FACING A 113 COUNT INDICTMENT FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

JOYCE IS REPORTED TO HAVE GAINED $1 MILLION THROUGH BRIBES AND KICKBACKS AND HAS ALSO

BEEN CHARGED WITH RACKETEERING, EXTORTION, HONEST SERVICES FRAUD, MONEY LAUNDERING, AND

CONSPIRACY TO DEFRAUD THE IRS, ACCORDING TO NEWSWEEK.

THE 55-YEAR-OLD DEMOCRAT WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY BY THE FBI AFTER A TWO-YEAR INVESTIGATION

AND WAS FOUND TO HAVE ACCEPTED "HUNDREDS OF POUNDS" OF DUNKIN DOUGHNUTS COFFEE, AFTER

HE PULLED STRINGS FOR A LOCAL FRANCHISE OWNER, NEWSWEEK REPORTS.

PROSECUTORS ACCUSED JOYCE OF USING HIS LAW FIRM TO LAUNDER MONEY WHILE HE WAS STILL WORKING

AS A STATE LEGISLATOR."

But to make matters even more shocking, this isn't the first time this month that a Massachusetts

Democrat has found themselves embroiled in scandal.

Massachusetts Senate President Stan Rosenberg was forced to resign in recent days due to

a sexual harassment scandal.

His husband, Bryon Hefner, had been caught being sexually inappropriate with four separate

men.

Again reported by The Daily Caller:

"THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS MONTH A MASSACHUSETTS DEMOCRAT HAS BEEN EMBROILED IN A MASSIVE SCANDAL.

MASSACHUSETTS SENATE PRESIDENT STAN ROSENBERG RESIGNED LAST WEEK, AMIDST REPORTS HIS HUSBAND

BRYON HEFNER HAD BEEN SEXUALLY INAPPROPRIATE WITH FOUR SEPARATE MEN.

ROSENBERG SAID HEFNER IS SEEKING TREATMENT FOR ALCOHOL DEPENDENCY, AND WILL BE ADMITTED

TO AN INPATIENT TREATMENT CENTER FOR HIS ADDICTION."

It seems Massachusetts is the place to be if you are a corrupt or morally repugnant

Democrat.

At least law enforcement will do something when Democrats at the state level are caught

breaking the law.

Hillary Clinton put classified information on her unsecured private email server, lied

about it, and then was found guilty only to not be charged with a crime.

If former Sen. Brian Joyce had the same connections as Hillary, the outcome of his investigation

likely would have been entirely different.

But thankfully justice was clearly served, and it is very unlikely former Sen. Joyce

will ever serve in public office again.

Jeff Sessions Regrets His Missed Opportunity

Attorney General Jeff Sessions apologized for not correcting a group of students who

partook in the Trump campaign-style "lock her up" chant during his appearance in Washington,

D.C.

The group was repeating the chant that was often made in reference to President Trump's

opponent Hillary Clinton, however, Sessions says that he should have made it a teachable

moment, and talked with them about the American justice system, and what makes it so great.

When asked about it during a press conference in Boston, Sessions called the students an

"enthusiastic" group who "spontaneously" broke into the "lock her up" chant.

"I perhaps should've taken a moment to advise them of the fact that…you're presumed

innocent until cases are made," Sessions said with a smile.

"It was a great event to be with those kids and that would be my answer to you," he

added.

Sessions took the stage in Boston to announce a victory for Immigration and Customs Enforcement,

as well as the justice system.

The Attorney General, ICE, and Homeland Security Investigations just wrapped up an investigation

that lead to the arrests of 25 individuals who are reportedly guilty of document and

benefit fraud in a program named "Operation Double Trouble."

"'Operation Double Trouble,' a long-term, coordinated investigation by HSI's Document

and Benefit Fraud Task Force (DBFTF) comprised of local, state and federal agencies joining

together to detect, deter and disrupt organizations and individuals involved in a wide range of

document, identity and benefit fraud schemes."

Sessions addressed the Bostonians, saying "I want to thank all of the members of the

Document and Benefit Fraud Task Force who worked on this investigation", said U.S.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

"Across this city and across America, teachers, truck drivers, and construction workers are

going to work and paying taxes that are being stolen from the public treasury by fraudsters

and criminals.

"We are going to continue to pursue cases of identity theft against the American people

here in Massachusetts and wherever they take place."

Britain plans for opt-out organ donation scheme to save lives.

  Britain plans to increase the number of organ donors by changing the rules of consent and presuming that people have agreed to transplants unless they have specifically opted out.

Legislation to introduce the new framework for organ and tissue donation will be debated in parliament later this year, with the system expected to come into effect in spring 2020, the health department said on Sunday.

"We believe that by making these changes, we can save as many as 700 more lives every year," Jackie Doyle-Price, parliamentary under secretary of state for mental health and inequalities, said in a statement.

There will be exceptions to the presumed consent system, including those aged under 18, individuals who lack the mental capacity to understand the changes and people who have not lived in England for at least 12 months before their death.

In Wales, a system of presumed consent is in operation and Scotland has also published a plan for an opt-out donation system.

Around 6,000 people in Britain are on the transplant waiting list and more than 400 patients died while waiting for a transplant last year, the public health service said. .
