Trey Gowdy Let Everyone In On This Secret The FBI Was Trying To Hide

Republicans releasing the Nunes memo was a bombshell that rocked Washington.

For the first time, Americans were given proof there was an anti-Trump conspiracy at the

highest levels of the FBI.

In one interview, Trey Gowdy revealed a secret the FBI was desperate to keep hidden.

The central claim of the Nunes memo was the FBI made the Steele dossier the foundational

evidence used to obtain a FISA warrant against Trump campaign aide Carter Page.

FBI leadership knew the document was really the handywork of the Clinton campaign and

that its key findings – that the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians – were unverified.

Gowdy appeared on CBS Face the Nation and stunned viewers when he said the FISA warrant

could not have been obtained without the Steele dossier.

The Daily Wire reported on his exchange with host Margaret Brennan:

"BRENNAN: We should dig into this because you are, from my understanding, the only Republican

investigator on the House Intelligence Committee who actually viewed the FISA applications.

Everything that went into essentially putting together this memo.

So, when you're talking about this Steele memo, you are not saying that it was the sole

piece of evidence used to justify these four authorizations of the surveillance warrant,

are you?

GOWDY: No.

It was not the exclusive information relied upon by the FISA court.

BRENNAN: Would it have been authorized were it not for that dossier?

GOWDY: No, it would not have been.

BRENNAN: How can you say that because it was authorized four times by separate judges?

GOWDY: Right, and the information was in there all four times.

And the judge doesn't do independent research.

There are three Republicans that have seen every bit of information — three of us.

Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), the Chairman of the Judiciary, Johnny Ratcliffe (R-TX), who was

a former terrorism prosecutor and a U.S. attorney in Texas, and me.

All three of us have total confidence in the FBI and DOJ to be able to do the jobs that

they have been assigned; we have confidence in Bob Mueller; and we have serious concerns

about this process.

So, we have all three of those things in common, including being concerned about what happened

in 2016."

The whole story stinks.

It's a scandal worse than Watergate.

And the real investigation should be into the corruption at the top of the FBI and former

Director Comey and others weaponizing the FISA warrant process to try and destroy Donald

Trump.

When will Bob Mueller's witch hunt against the President end?

The truth will disturb you.

One piece of paper revealed just how long the investigation into the President will

drag on.

The Trump administration just released their fiscal year 2019 budget document.

Buried deep in the budget request was one line item: 10 million dollars for the Mueller

probe for fiscal year 2019.

Because of the way the government keeps its books, that means starting on October 1, 2018,

the Trump administration is expected to fork out ten million dollars to keep Mueller's

crusade going.

Politico reports:

"President Donald Trump's new budget projects that special counsel Robert Mueller's office

will still be in business in fiscal year 2019 — even though White House officials have

repeatedly said they expect the probe to wrap up soon.

The budget projects that Mueller's team will keep spending at its current rate of

about $10 million per year in the next fiscal year, which starts in October.

Mueller's prosecutors have a criminal case pending against Trump's former campaign

chairman Paul Manafort and deputy Rick Gates.

No trial date has been set, but the judge suggested last month that a trial could start

in August or September.

If it does, the trial and any appeal would almost certainly extend into the next fiscal

year.

The White House has said it expects Mueller to finish soon; spokesman Raj Shah told Fox

News last month that officials "believe it will end soon."

But White House attorney Ty Cobb said Monday that Trump's team is not looking for Mueller's

office to shut down its operations entirely, merely to resolve the parts of its investigation

that focus on Trump.

"We're not looking for these guys to close up shop, but we are interested in trying to

get the president's piece of this resolved quickly," Cobb told POLITICO.

A spending report released by Mueller's office in December reported direct spending

of $3.2 million from the time of his appointment in May until the end of fiscal year 2017 last

September.

Personnel assigned to Mueller's team also cost the Justice Department about $3.5 million

during that period, but officials said those expenses would have been incurred whether

or not the probe was handed to a special counsel."

Some of Trump's lawyers believe the investigation into the President is nearing an end.

There are reports that Mueller will request in an interview with the President.

That indicates it is the final step in that aspect of his probe.

Trump would be wise to turn down Mueller because the point of the interview is to catch Trump

misremembering something and make the cast that he lied to investigators and should be

impeached.

The budget request expecting the Mueller probe to go into 2019 could be for trial expenses

for former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his deputy Rick Gates.

There will be pressure on Mueller to wrap his probe up by the spring.

If it drags on any longer, it will interfere in the midterm elections and possibly Trump's

re-election.

Some critics believe this is Mueller's plan.

He will drop a damaging report or indictment in the weeks before the midterm elections

to help the Democrats win control of Congress so they can begin work on impeaching the President.

The Trump administration is once again planning to ax an Obama era regulation, this time it's

a California policy that is raising the minimum fuel efficiency as well as additional regulation

on emissions of vehicles in their state.

Via New York Post:

"The Environmental Protection Agency will ask to revoke a federal Clean Air Act waiver

empowering California to set vehicle emissions standards, and the U.S. National Highway Traffic

Safety Administration will argue that a 1975 fuel efficiency law prevents the state from

regulating greenhouse gas emissions, according to Bloomberg News.

The Clean Air Act is President Barack Obama's signature environmental policy, and the Trump

administration move could set off a chain reaction of litigation, the outlet reported.

The proposal would also freeze federal requirements on fuel economy at a fleet-average 35 miles

per gallon by 2020, rather than allowing that figure to climb to 50 mpg by 2025 as it is

currently set to do."

The plan's supporters believe that the benefits of this proposal won't just be less government

interference, but that citizens will be able to replace their old cars sooner, which they

hope will also reduce traffic deaths.

However, those who don't care for President Trump's reversal of the Obama era policy

believe that it is not only detrimental to the health of the citizens but sets a bad

precedent for the issue of state's rights.

This isn't the first time an emissions issue has been brought up by the Trump administration.

On May 2, 17 states, including California, sued to keep the former emissions standards

that President Trump planned to dismantle.

Dan Sperling of the state's Air Resources Board believes that California will fight

back against the Trump administration this time as well.

Sperling stated, "We have the law on our side, as well as the people of the country

and the people of the world."
