USA news on Youtube Aug 4 2018

Hi, here Agata K

In today's episode, I will share with you

tips and tricks

how to get through, how to survive a long flight

Sometimes to places we want to get to

we unfortunately need to take a flight

and sometimes we have to spend over 12 hours on it

I have dozens of such flights behind me (talking from Riversdale in Belize)

So, here we go

MAIN LUGGAGE

If you're going to check in the main luggage, which I do not recommend

I'll make an episode soon, how to pack

in hand luggage for one-year-long trip around the world

More than what will fit in your hand luggage

you do not have to take with you

but this is my personal opinion

with which you do not necessarily have to agree,

Therefore

If you do have to check-in your main luggage

Try to find a suitcase or a backpack, which will not be black

If you have to check in a black suitcase, then

stick a ribbon to it

something strongly recognizable

which, firstly, will not detach

nor, secondly, it will not get tangled

to any of the moving tapes

through which these luggage pass

so that the suitcase doesn't stay at the airport, from which we take off

In the check in luggage do not put any keys

neither for the house nor for the car

nor any documents

do not put anything that is important

valuable

or anything that is absolutely necessary within 48 to 56 hours after arrival

Hand luggage

If you are traveling with hand luggage

and you are taking toiletries, very important information

all liquids must fit in ONE one-liter transparent bag

just like this, only bigger

it's a new rule

that everything must fit in one bag

it was not like this before

now it is

which I found out for myself

and I had a hard time

so that they would not throw away my things

jetlag

Where we fly, especially if it's longer flights

there is a change of the time zone

we are sleepy when it's still light

we are hungry in the middle of the night

and so on and so forth

this is the so-called jetlag

due to the fact that it is a completely different hour than the one to which we are used to

The fight with the jetlag should begin about 3-4 days before

the flight

you should eat smaller meals and more often

such a simple solution can help us

to fight with the jetlag

yes, and talking about eating ...

SPECIAL MEAL

if you have any food requirements

you should inform the airline about it

at the time of booking of the airline ticket

or at least 48 hours before departure

I usually order an Asian vegetarian meal (AVLM)

if it is available, because it is much tastier

PROG

If you get hungry easily, you can bring some food to the plane

I'm just begging you not to bring an egg sandwich

or kebab with onions

on behalf of myself and other passengers

a good solution for me

a carrot, an apple, nuts, bitter chocolate

bringing food to countries outside of the European Union is not allowed

for example, in New Zealand, they scan all your luggage to see if you're not bringing any bananas or apples

and there are very large

fines

so, please inform yourself

before you fly out to your destination

MOISTURIZATION

The air in the plane is much drier

so you should drink a lot of water

before departure it is best to eat vegetables or fruit for hydration

cucumbers, only fresh, not pickled

also for example watermelons or melons

chia, hydrated chia also hydrates the body very well

because it releases water slowly

Bring in your hand luggage a moisturizing cream

Bring your own bottle of water to the plane

When you run out of water, ask the Stewardess, to fill it with you

Never, absolutely never drink tap water on a plane

BLOOD CIRCULATION

Before leaving, take aspirin

If the flight is longer than 8 hours, take another one

after 5 or 6 hours

If you have your period, do not take aspirin

Any muscle work on the plane

is strongly recommended

because then we help our circulation to come back

these swollen legs

SEATING

Check in online

you can usually do it 48 hours before departure

like this you will have priority

in the choice of where to sit

And now, yes: Where to sit?

and then by the window, and then in the front, and then sideways

it depends..

if you have an airplane connection

or you land late

you may want to sit closer to the front of the cabin

also at the front of the plane, the air is the freshest

and it's cooler

On the back of the plane

is warmer

The smallest wobbling is around the wings

Well, there are little views around the wings

Many people prefer to sit at the corridor

then they can get up to the bathroom when they feel like it

they can get up and walk in the cabin whenever they like it

without asking the next passenger

to get up, maybe because they sleep, for example

so it gives you so much more flexibility

I prefer a window seat personally

because then, leaning against the wall of the plane, I sleep better

and I get up to the bathroom when the people next to me get up

at least I'm trying

BABY ON BOARD

According to the survey carried out by Tripadvisor in 2011

over 1/3 of passengers would prefer to pay extra for a ticket

just to not sit

next to children

There is no option yet to book a place

away from children

but we can hack the system a bit

if you choose a place at the emergency exit

there will definitely be no children there

You can avoid the partition walls

where the division is

you can check by searching on the Internet

for the airplane model

and the airline usually informs us about the aircraft model at the time of booking the ticket

If the plane is not full

Wait until the end of boarding

and then board the plane

it may be that you hunt down the best places

for example, 3 free seats next to each other

You can ask the Stewardess if this is ok

and if you have a special meal (which you ordered earlier)

you must inform the crew about the change of your seat

because special meals are assigned to the seat where you were supposed to sit

ON BOARD ESSENTIALS

When you get on the plane, have prepared

already the things that will be necessary

for the duration of the entire flight

an eye mask

ear plugs or headphones

water, a book

mp3 player or e-book

what I always take to the airplane cabin

it's wool socks and sarong

sarong is something like that

which you can cover with, you can use it as a scarf

during the trip he serves me also

as a dress, a tablecloth

a towel

cover, and so on and so forth

CHARGE ALL THE BATTERIES

remember to recharge all your electronic equipment

before the flight

and also download what you want to listen to or what you want to read during the flight

and during the trip, which comes after the flight

it does not necessarily have to be music

it may also be the language lessons of the country you fly to

WEAR LAYERS

always bring with you warm things to wear

wear many layers

before you take off, on the plane it will be very hot

later, during the whole flight

it will be too cold

they say it's for the good of passengers

to avoid cell hypoxia

which can cause loss of consciousness and some other issues

that we want to avoid on board

ON BOARD

After taking your seat

take off your shoes and fasten your seat belts

and set the watch to the time of the country you fly to

keep your seatbelts fastened

there were cases of unexpected turbulences

and people with unfastened seat belts banged their heads at the ceiling

Be nice to the crew

you will only gain from it

their work is hard

hours are very complicated

I know something about it because I worked at the airport

in fact, any delay of the plane

is not the fault of the plane's crew

And trust me, they would also prefer to arrive faster

faster get home, finish work earlier

because on most airlines, overtime is not paid for

DURING THE FLIGHT

Take advantage of the fact that on longer flights

you can usually watch

videos

the new ones and classics

Use the time to read about the place, to which you are flying to

Sometimes travel magazines are available on airplanes

only that they will usually recommend the most touristy places

and rather the most expensive options

well, but it's good to know what is very touristy

and what can you visit in the country

BEFORE LANDING

Before landing, change your clothes

to fit to the local weather and cultural conditions

about this in another episode

FREQUENT FLYER PROGRAMS

If you already know that you will fly more often

it is worth checking out the frequent flyer programs

on which you can collect points

and these points can be exchanged later

for an additional short flight

or some discount

whether the increased check in or hand - baggage allowance

Well, that's probably all from me for today

if you have any other tips or tricks

about which I forgot

share them with us in the comments

if you disagree with any indication

also share it with me

I will definitely answer to you

okay, that's it!

Kisses

Bye

In one ... well, not in this really ...
