USA news on Youtube Aug 17 2018

hey techdoctor what's the best way I can optimize my computer and make it run

as fast and smooth as possible well in this video today I'll be showing you my

top tips to make your Windows computer run as smooth and fast as possible so

with all of that being said let's get started

okay said the first step we need to minimize the amount of programs that

start up automatically when we turn our computer on so just like our Android

boxes or our fire sticks the more things are running in the background the

greater negative impact that will have on your device or your computer so we

need to basically minimize those things and the way we do that is if you just go

to your desktop on your computer and go to the taskbar at the bottom here if you

used tool right click there and select the option task manager so these all of

the things are configured to start up automatically every time you turn on

your computer and what we can do is we can actually

sort them out by this startup impact so the things are set to high or medium

these things are having a big impact to your computer's startup time so if you

have too many things which are having a high impact that'll definitely slow down

your computer when it first turns on so what we can do is we can basically go

through the list and anything that you're not really using or you didn't

know that I was actually installed you can basically disable it so for example

here we've got this Java update scheduler which we don't really need so

we can right click on there and we can say disable so this means the next time

I turn my computer on this is not going to load simile up here for example you

can see we've got the Microsoft onedrive set up so I'm not using onedrive why is

that running in the background let's stop it so again the way we stopped is

we do a right-click and select disable so this means now when we do restart our

computer because it's less things for the computer to load it should load up

much faster than before okay so the next step we want to remove some of those pre

installed applications that get installed with Windows so for weather

ease and in microsoft's infinite wisdom they decided to bundle so many standard

applications with Windows 10 and there's just literally so many of them that you

don't necessarily need so everything from you know cooking applications to

weather to fitness these applications get pre-installed Em's you don't

necessarily want to use them so let's now remove them now there is a couple of

different ways you can remove them but I personally found the easiest way is to

use an application called ten apps manager today we get the application is

if you open up a browser on your computer and let's search for 10 apps

manager 10 UPS manager and if you'd see the first

link on the windows club let's click on that now and here we can just see what

the application will look like as I scroll down and we'll have options to

remove all these applications here so obviously if you want to use them you

can keep them but I mean things like you know travel or solitaire that's pretty

good game how things like you know getting started or get office or food I

mean so these are things that are already installed so if you don't need

to use them why why have them on your computer so let's now download this by

taking on this blue icon here and it should now commence the download okay

here it is here let's open that up lets us drag that to our desktop ok

let's start that now and it's called 10 apps manager and here it is guys so here

is a big list of applications so you can now do is you can individually go

through them so let's say for example we want to use the money application you

can click on that and this will tell you don't understand list we can say yes so

that's now been removed from your device similarly we can say we're not using the

travel applications click on that and click on yes and that's now also removed

now you can be a bit extreme on this and just say I'm gonna remove all these

applications so if you really don't want to use any of these applications we can

still click on the red button here remove all and this lets you remove all

the applications for you if you want to do that now just as a word of warning it

does actually tell you that you should create a system restore point before

uninstalling so so you can do that if you want to but for this demonstration

that's asleep though okay so next up we have disabling the visual effects so

windows does come with some nice effects in the standard user interface so you

have some nice or shadows you can obviously have the background some of

the custom themes these are all really nice however if you do want to get the

maximum performance out of your computer especially if your computer's not very

new so you really want to get the maximum performance that you can so if

you do turn these special effects off they'll definitely give you a boost in

performance if you just go to the stop bar turn and let's search for the

control panel you can just start typing okay there is a slick on that now inside

the control panel is click on system and security so you get to this screen we

now want to click on advanced or advanced system settings

okay we can see we have now up the performance option say let's click on

that now and hey we can you see some of the special effects that Windows has to

make looked a little bit nicer but in the case of maximum performance let's

turn some of these off so let's say for example we don't want to have a doze on

the windows we can take that click on apply and that's now done or let's say

for example we don't have translucent section triangle so you can basically go

through these and anything you know really into you can turn off but if you

just want the maximum performance we can set this option up here this will not

disable all these options and give you computed the best possible performers

let's click on apply ok that's now all done next up we want to run a path born

a performance monitor analysis on a computer and find out exactly what's

going on in the background and the way we do that is let's go to the start

button again let's type in C M D on the come on prop we want to do a right click

now we want to select run as administrator let's do that now click on

yes ok so here we want to type in the command perfmon slash report so here

we're basically asking the computer to do a report on itself and just find out

what the issues are with the bottleneck so it is any kind of like you know

serious problems put them all in to report and then show it to us let's run

that now we can see it's now going to click data for 60 seconds compiler

report and then present the results ok so here is the report so we can see on

my computer we don't have any major issues so the start that's normally

severe will be listed at the top then you have some of the normal checks at

the bottom so this is a very nice way to see exactly what's here on your computer

if there are some underlying issues or problems and this will then tell you how

you can fix them but in my case we can see it's all looking good and green next

step we put the disk cleanup utility so over time when you do install more and

more programs you will find that space in your hard drive is always going down

so one of the things we can run is a disk cleanup utility and the way we do

that is if it's good to start button again let us type in disk and we can see

there is this cleanup let's click on that now this will basically do an

analysis on your disk and find out if there's any temporary files any old

installations that can be removed so let's say for example I want to

uninstall these temporary files we can click on

that if you want to remove some of these other things we can click on that as

well so you can just click on the things that you're not really using and you can

also click on this thing here which says clean up some of the system files so if

you do install a service pack on your computer or some other big update many

times it does actually leave a lot of the older files are not needed anymore

so you can actually remove them so we can click on this thing here this should

now relaunch this cleanup utility and give you more things they can actually

remove we can see it's scanning the windows update scene up so if there were

updates how previously installed that are not needed anymore this will show

you how you can now remove them ok we can see we've got 2.7 gigs so it's

actually a lot of space that the windows update cleanup was taking so we can

click on that there's anything else we can click on we can click on these

temporary files as well now when I click on ok this will now automatically remove

all those files from my system freeing up those valuable resources

ok so loss the Windows 10 does have so many built-in tracking components in

some of the built-in applications and some of the background processes the

literally is a lot of tracking built in by default so let's you opt out of that

tracking your computer will be constantly talking back to Microsoft

there really is a lot of data mining and tracking going on with Windows 10 and

there's been many articles on the internet talking about this now in terms

of turning things off there's a couple of different things we can do I have

personally found this application called Winton privacy to be the best so if you

just open up a browser and just search for wind 10 privacy we can see as she

ends up on a German page but we can change the language to English so this

will actually used on my Windows 10 computer and there literally is so many

things you can actually turn off to improve the performance but most

importantly turn off the tracking so I mean it's tracking they used to like you

know give you context based adverts you know based on your preferences your

browsing habits and everything else they've got reason why they're doing it

but I personally I want to give up my personal data or send it back to Marx

off so I definitely recommend turning a lot of these options off so let's

download that now let's open that up and let's drag that to the desktop as well

so for this one because this is quite severe in terms of the stuff it can do I

do seriously recommend creating a stall point on your computer and the way

you do that is if you just go to the stop bar turn and just type in restore

and we can see we have an opportunity to create a restore point it's click on

that now and now we can just say let's create a restore buttons click on create

everything it's called like pre when turn privacy settings suggest if there's

any issues with you turning things off you can always go back to this restore

point and pull your computer back to the exact same state it was before you run

that tool let's click on crate and it's click on OK and that's now done ok so

just before we run it we should actually create a new folder just for this

software because when you do run it for the first time it has actually create

some extra Falls so to Brenda's Falls going all over our desktop let's just

create a new folder and let's put this in here ok let's now run this now we can

see it's created these extra fall so it just makes it a bit neater when it's

inside a folder then all over your desktop and this is what the application

looks like guys so you can see has a very simple interface you got the

different options along the top for the different categories so here we can see

the privacy settings so the stuff is actually in green that means you can

literally just turn it off and I won't have any kind of adverse effect on your

computer the stuff that's yellow you can't turn this stuff off but you need

to be wary about exactly what the stuff does and the red stuff which we can see

over here for example you can also do this but this can have serious negative

effects on your system so for example here it's saying this is to block access

to all marks off servers so which means you know obviously they won't be able to

take any of your data for you know adverts or anything else but the same

time you will not be able to get Windows updates so if you do want to update your

computer to the latest version or the latest patch if you have this enabled

then Windows updates gonna break so definitely be wary of the red ones but

anything that screen goes so we can see here for example but don't disable the

Windows customer experience improvement program definitely because I'm not

interested in that let's tick on that I don't disable the publishing of user

activities that stick on that a lot you know Microsoft to use my diagnostic data

let's tick on that so literally anything you don't like or you don't like to look

off just click on it click on save and that will then apply and this is from

the privacy we can just see there's so many ways we can customize a computer

and block a lot of these things are happening in the background

here we can see some of the app stuff you got elementary stuff here the

background apps is also a good one to check out guys because these things in

the background are constantly fetching data or sending and receiving data so if

you can't disable any of these say for example when I'm not using the voice

recorder I'm not using OneNote I'm not using whether if you turn these things

off even if those applications are still installed on your computer because

you've disabled the background functionality those applications won't

be able to send or receive any data on your computer so again I should

definitely help out your performance once you've selected all these things

that you want to disable we can then click on set change settings since

you'll apply that click on OK we can see it now says process completed and

they'll just restore the program again just as you can see the stuff that

wasn't taken before has now been ticked not resolved we go back into background

apps we can see the voice recorder that i taked and some of these other things

are now showing a stick which means they are already disabled that's all for this

video guys many thanks for watching so many few are asking for tips on how to

improve your computer's performance so I do hope you like this one let me know

and I'll hopefully catch up with you guys real soon thanks thanks again for

watching guys oh and if you're interested in a VPN if you click on that

link on the bottom left you'll get a great 46 percent discount if you are

worried about your privacy and you want to stay safe online I do recommend you

check out VPN thanks again guys see you on the next one

So you told me Lincoln was on your land one time?

So, I guess they connected that with Lincoln.

Oh, that's right, those famous tunnels

I think Larry smokes a little too much

of that wacky tobacco.

[Laughs]

They built the tunnels

to help Lincoln escape during the Civil War.

I don't think they had golf carts back in those days.

See, that didn't make any sense at all,

what you're saying right there.

Why would Lincoln escape from the White House,

come through a tunnel and end up in the heart of Dixie?

It doesn't make any goddamn sense.

I mean, if there are tunnels downstairs,

and say there are,

there would have to be something

a little bit more diabolical about it,

otherwise that's just urban legend.

Yeah, that's a possibility.

But I know what I got, dawg.

Did you just call me dawg?

That's urban.

No look man, I mean, let me tell you something.

The land may be silent...

but it has a lot to say.

All the memories of all those wars,

all the blood spilled on this land? Man.

Well, you're referring to the wars

between the Indian tribes

or the war between the States?

No, no, no. I'm talking about the big battle

of Fort Fisher, man,

where the Union soldiers kick the Confederate's ass,

and they had this stupid-ass, crazy-ass general

named General... um, Bragg.

He tried to burn down the whole goddamn city, man.

He burned down all the supply depots.

But after that,

all hell broke loose, man.

There were more wars than you can think of.

Blood was spilled all over this goddamn land.

It's said that all the ponds

were running red with blood.

That's true.

I didn't know that.

Alright, buddy. I gotta go.

Come on, man, where you going? Where you going?

I ain't finished yet. I got more to tell you.

Of course you're not finished.

You tell me the same damn story every night.

Yeah, but I'll tell you what, man,

it's really sad.

Brothers killing brothers,

friends killing friends,

that's what's sad.

You're right.

It is sad, brothers killing brothers.

But you know what?

You gotta admire them

for sticking to their guns no matter what the cause.

You're right.

See you around, old buddy.

I'm here, dawg.

[Laughs]

Okay.

Excuse me, Gunny'?

I got something you need to listen to.

Must be a fluke.

They said something about everything's in order,

but I don't detect a threat here.

What exactly did you intercept, Corporal?

Uh, transmission stated,

battleship is secure,

Operation Magenta is a go.

Tunnels need securing and checkpoint 72 hours.

Then static, Gunny.

Have you picked up any other radio chatter

about battleships?

Negative. Just this message.

Port City, that's a small tourist town.

They have the U.S.S. North Carolina there.

It's been there since 1962, but...

that old girl's nothing more than a museum now.

It sounds like we've stumbled upon some kids

playing war games on their walkie-talkies.

Disregard, Corporal. I give it these are no threat.

- Roger that. - Carry on.

When does Leo report?

Soon.

Get rid of him.

I am pregnant.

Okay? Clear the ship from bottom to top.

- Okay. - That's the plan.

Right now, the most important damn thing,

everybody get their ass in gear, get out of here,

grab everything you need and be back within two hours.

James Dean was the man.

Everything he did was cool.

The way he walked was cool.

The way he talked was cool.

The way he smoked too, it was the coolest.

Can you imagine James Dean

smoking one of these fucking things?

[Laughs] Absolutely no cool factor,

you know what I'm saying?

You must be... Roy Boyle, right?

Well, this is a good day.

I was hoping I'd get a chance to meet you.

Say you used to be something back in the day.

I mean, personally...

no offense,

but I just don't see it, man.

Alright, man.

Let's do this thing.

Yeah, nice to meet you too.

Hey!

Rebecca and Kenny cleaned the lower deck.

Upper deck's clear.

Corner deck's clear, man.

- Yeah. - Right there.

Let's finish this thing, goddamnit.

Thomas?

What's up, man? Who are all these people?

What are you doing with all these equipment, man?

What's that about?

I'm sorry for everything.

I'm so sorry.

Alright, secure the perimeter!

I don't want anybody getting in or out!

I want this completely locked down!

We have 18 hours to get to checkpoint B

in Virginia if that map Larry put together is correct.

What about the North Carolina?

Boat's about 80 miles an hour and on point.

No, it's not a boat, it's a battleship,

alright?

Who is our contact in Virginia?

Malloy. James Malloy, 1st Cavalry.

I know Malloy. It's good to know you're friends.

You better know your enemies.

Let's go!

What in the fuck have we got into?

I don't know what the fuck we got into,

but I know how the hell we're getting out of it.

I got left flank.

Alright, I'll get to them. Get to them.

Well, let's do this.

Right up, guys. You stay close,

this is going down now.

Contact!

My ass.

You're both my bitches.

- Oh, you're back now, huh? - Come on, let's go!

Cover us, girl.

Reckon you're gonna drop that weapon you little hussy.

You fucking traitor.

Come on. Come on!

Who are you? Are you one of them?

I'm a soldier.

Alright, you got a lot of bleeding here.
