John McCain reverted back to "maverick" form.

That means stabbing conservatives in the back to win approval from the liberal media.

But he never expected it would cause him to get this bad news.

McCain's ultimate betrayal of Republicans came when he provided the decisive vote to

kill efforts to repeal Obamacare.

While the liberal media lavished praise upon him for being a "hero", conservatives

seethed.

Trump took dead aim at McCain during a rally in Phoenix.

He repeatedly alluded to McCain being the "one vote" the GOP needed to pass legislation

to repeal Obamacare.

Politico reports:

JOHN MCCAIN OR SEN.

JEFF FLAKE BY NAME IN HIS REMARKS — HE JOKED THAT HIS AIDES PLEADED WITH HIM NOT TO MENTION

THE SENATORS EXPLICITLY — BUT IT WAS UNMISTAKABLE WHO HE WAS TALKING ABOUT.

OVER AND OVER, TRUMP NOTED THAT SENATE REPUBLICANS WERE "ONE VOTE AWAY" FROM PASSING A BILL

TO REPEAL OBAMACARE.

THE CROWD AT THE PHOENIX CONVENTION CENTER IMMEDIATELY BEGAN JEERING MCCAIN, A LONGTIME

TRUMP CRITIC WHO DELIVERED THE TIE-BREAKING VOTE THAT SANK THE OVERHAUL BILL.

THE 80-YEAR-OLD MCCAIN IS BEING TREATED FOR BRAIN CANCER.

"OBAMACARE IS A DISASTER AND THINK, JUST THINK, WE WERE JUST ONE VOTE AWAY FROM VICTORY

AFTER SEVEN YEARS OF EVERYBODY PROCLAIMING, 'REPEAL AND REPLACE.'

ONE VOTE AWAY," TRUMP SAID, SHAKING HIS HEAD IN DEEP DISAPPOINTMENT.

"ONE VOTE AWAY.

WE WERE ONE VOTE AWAY.

THINK OF IT.

SEVEN YEARS."

McCain has been a thorn in Trump's side since the campaign.

He rescinded his endorsement after the Access Hollywood tape was leaked to the media.

But that didn't matter as Trump supporters saw the establishment trying to elect Hillary

Clinton and rallied around their candidate.

After Trump won the election, McCain began to oppose Trump's agenda items.

In addition to blocking efforts to repeal Obamacare, McCain has fought to kill the wall

along the southern border and Trump's immigration legislation.

Now he is the one paying a political price.

Polls show he is more popular with Democrats than Republicans.

And Trump's rally showed he will not be afraid to turn up the heat on McCain for his

acts of political treason.

Donald Trump's election was devastating news to the entrenched establishment in Washington,

D.C.

Their good ol' boy club was issued a major blow overnight, and they went on the attack

immediately.

And one high-ranking GOP official just revealed his "shadow government" plot to take down

Trump.

Since day one of President Trump's campaign, "Never Trump" Republicans have been working

overtime to drag Trump through the mud.

They have gone so far as to work with Obama's entrenched deep state operatives to leak government

secrets they saw as negative for Trump.

But now the anti-Trump rhetoric coming from these "Republicans" has reached a new

low.

Peter Wehner, former advisor to President George W. Bush, and anti-Trump loyalist, is

so angry at Trump supporters sticking by the President that he is leading a dangerous plot

to destroy him.

Wehner is calling for Republican officials to form a "shadow government" to undermine

President Trump and his agenda.

SIGNALS THEIR OPPOSITION TO THE MORAL UGLINESS AND INTELLECTUAL INCOHERENCE OF MR.

TRUMP."

"RATHER THAN STANDING BY THE PRESIDENT, THEY SHOULD CONSIDER THEMSELVES LIBERATED

AND OFFER A CONSTRUCTIVE, HUMANE AND APPEALING ALTERNATIVE TO HIM," WEHNER WRITES IN HIS

"SUNDAY REVIEW" COLUMN.

"THEY NEED TO THINK IN TERMS OF A SHADOW GOVERNMENT DURING THE TRUMP ERA, WITH THE

ELEVATION OF ALTERNATIVE LEADERS ON A RANGE OF MATTERS."

HE SAYS "THIS APPROACH INVOLVES RISK AND MAY NOT WORK" AND PREDICTS IT WILL PROVOKE

"AN ANGRY RESPONSE" FROM THE "BREITBART-ALT-RIGHT-TALK-RADIO PART OF THE PARTY."

"SO BE IT," WEHNER CONTINUES, ADDING THAT "REPUBLICANS WHO DON'T SHARE MR.

TRUMP'S APPROACH HAVE TO HOPE THAT HIS IMPLODING PRESIDENCY HAS CREATED AN OPENING TO OFFER

Wehner has been working behind the scenes with his "Never Trump" allies like Bill

Kristol to shut down the President for a long time.

But Trump is just one person on his long list of conservatives that he's been targeting

for many years.

Throughout former President Obama's presidency, Wehner used every opportunity he could find

to bash conservatives in the Tea Party.

Wehner will attack any movement or person that is a threat to his neo-conservative and

crony capitalist agenda.

It was people like Peter Wehner who perverted the Republican brand of the Reagan-era and

nearly killed the entire party.

He is an elitist establishment mouthpiece who spends his free time vehemently working

to shut down any person, or movement, who tries to bring the Republican Party back to

the days of Reagan.

Thankfully, with the election of Donald Trump, his work doesn't seem to be very effective.

The Deep State has been trying to destroy the Trump administration with illegal leaks.

Trump's Presidency has been tripped up by bad news cycles generated by damaging leaks

of classified information.

Now one Deep State leaker just paid the ultimate price.

When Anthony Scaramucci was hired as Trump's new communications director, he promised to

crack down on the leakers.

And he came into the job with one simple message: If you leak, you're fired.

Scaramucci made good on his word by firing press aide Marc Short because he was suspected

of being a leaker.

Politico reports:

"President Donald Trump's newly appointed communications director, Anthony Scaramucci,

said Tuesday that he is prepared to "fire everybody" in the White House communications

shop in order to put an end to embarrassing internal leaks.

The financier and longtime Trump surrogate is eager to shake up the communications shop,

which has been dominated by former Republican National Committee staffers loyal to White

House chief of staff Reince Priebus, a former RNC chairman.

Scaramucci confirmed to POLITICO early Tuesday that he planned to start by dismissing assistant

press secretary Michael Short at a morning meeting, but that move was apparently delayed.

Short, who initially said Tuesday that he hadn't yet been informed of any decision,

resigned Tuesday afternoon.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued a brief statement on Short's

resignation later in the day: "We are grateful for Michael's service and wish him well

in his future endeavors."

Short's ouster is Scaramucci's first warning shot to White House aides who have been perceived

as disloyal to the president.

In an echo of Trump's not-so-subtle warning to Jeff Sessions about his status as attorney

general, Scaramucci's vow to "fire everybody" is a warning to staffers perceived as leakers."

Short was an establishment Republican who was aligned with Chief of Staff Reince Priebus,

the former Republican National Committee Chairmen.

He previously worked on Trump's Presidential campaign only to suddenly quit.

Trump loyalists were shocked to see him rewarded with an administration position after he'd

abandoned a then-candidate Trump.

But Short was seen as a symptom of a larger disease.

He was an establishment figure who critics believed was more loyal to the Washington

ruling class than Donald Trump.

The Deep State depends on figures embedded in the government to leak damaging material

to stop Trump from fulfilling his promise to overturn the status quo many Americans

believe only serves the well-connected elite at their own expense.

Clearing out individuals in his own administration whose sympathies lie with the ruling class

and not the 'Make America Great Again' agenda is one step Trump can take to drain

the swamp and stop the Deep State's efforts to sabotage his Presidency.
