about how messed up it is that our one day office in the middle in the middle
week because if it's at the beginning or the end then you get an extra day but
not this time based on traffic I think a lot of people have taken the entire week
off they left writer yeah excessive in America you are smart you take advantage
of that strategic July 4th position I know how did we know how to party in

some news a man is under arrest after threatening to chop up and kill Senator
Rand Paul's family with an axe okay well the Kentucky Kentucky
Republican says the threat was called in to his office and he no longer feels
safe Griff Jenkins is live in Washington DC with the latest in a string of
security scares for Senator Paul Grif good morning guys Senator Paul is
thinking the US Capitol Police today for arresting a man who threatened grave
violence against him and his family the threat came in to Paul's Bowling Green
office and law enforcement wasted no time reacting the series of threats and
attacks taken a toll on the senator this ban had threatened to kill me and chop
up my family with an axe so I mean it's just horrendous that we're having
to deal with things like this I've had a year where it's becoming more and more
aware you know that we have these real threats out there and who can blame them
paul's barely recovered from being assaulted by a neighbor last november
that left him with broken ribs and before that he was on the field during a
congressional practice that nearly killed Majority Whip Steve Scalise Paul
now receives around-the-clock protection in the threats aren't limited to
Republicans congresswoman Maxine Waters who has encouraged her supporters to
confront Trump administration officials was forced to cancel an event last week
after death threats were made against her waters responded to the threats in
an anti-trump immigration rally in LA telling the crowd if you shoot me you
better shoot straight Paul by the way added in those comments maybe it's time
for the country to step back a bit that our political differences need not end
in violence guys you know things have gotten out of hand people just need to
stop on both its sides Thank You les thank you very much Griffin it was last
week that the authorities arrested a man out in California I believe 33 year-old
mark hora man and he threatened the FCC Commissioner a JIT PI's family I
remember that because he was upset that this administration was going to do
something about the net neutrality laws and regulations that started during the
Obama administration so he also made threats against a JIT PI's kit he has
now been arrested we got to stop this this scares people away from wanting to
have public a public office think about Rand Paul so I forgot that he was on the
field when Steve Scalise was shot yeah he was out in the outfield then you've
got the assault by the neighbor now they're calling in threats with axes I
mean this is a principled guy who's a conservative it supports this president
sometimes sometimes not right I mean crazy people when they feel emboldened
by rhetoric that's a bad place to be I don't get to this place and then took a
lot of lava me with an ass it's both sides I don't want to say it's just
right there's a great deal of Trump derangement syndrome that people feel
like justifies rhetoric that's way more heated than we've seen in a long time
well it was wrong on either side of the aisle but it was in full display a
couple of weeks ago in lexington virginia with sarah sanders was just
trying to have a meal with her family and the owner booted her sarah is
actually going to be joining us live from the White House in about 25 mins
we're gonna talk a little bit about civility in this nation with her well
that's true and Steve how do we get in this place part of it has to do with the
immigration debate that we're having right now which I can't quite seem to
have without impugning the motives of the other side let's fix the problem you
know this obviously all the issues that we're dealing with right now could be
fixed with a massive immigration reform that would pass the Congress and
Congress had the chance over the last couple of months and they could not get
anything done the president United States has been tweeting in the last 10
minutes or so and it's about immigration he says when we have an infestation of
ms-13 gangs in certain parts of our country we who do we send to get them
out ice they are tougher and smarter than these rough criminal elements that
bad immigrant law allows into our country DIMMs do not appreciate the
great job they do November how can the Democrats who are weak on the border and
weak on crime do well in November the people of our country want and demand
safety and security while the Democrats are more interested in ripping apart and
demeaning and not properly funding our great law enforcement well this has
become a talking point on the political left because of it started with the
president's zero-tolerance enforcement on the southern border and families were
separated he has since signed an executive order
reversing that but keeping the family together nonetheless detained in one
place until they can adjudicate it at least he's asked the Department of
Justice to approach the bench and figure out whether or not they can do that but
it has become so political now both sides are dug in and that's why the
Democrats are calling for it let's just get rid of eyesore Kamala Harris the
senator out in California saying you know what we really need to examine what
ice is doing and that prompted the White House to actually tweet at the
California Senate that's right so yesterday we saw a couple of tweets from
the official White House account to these US senators
here's one at Senator Kamala Harris why are you supporting the animals of ms-13
you must not know what ice really does here's a link to help you out with some
information they did the same thing too at Elizabeth Warren why are you
supporting criminals moving weapons drugs and victims across our nation's

didn't even know ice did when you go back child pornography deal with killers
like ms-13 sex trafficking child rape protect federal facilities and
commercial airlines among other things right so you want to abolish that
because you think that you you impugn the motives of this president and feel
like his policies are based and they always say at time and time again in
xenophobia and racism exactly Isis in you too
do you see what just happened the official White House Twitter was used to
attack a couple of members of Congress okay can't do that so says the managing
editor of politics at NBC News Dana Linzer Daphna Linzer tweeted out
stunning official White House Twitter account attacking and smearing a u.s.
senator well it's got to be unprecedented then I mean stunning that
there's only this White House Steve already as well so would do that
apparently there has been some sort of memory loss because this happened during
the Obama administration look at this this was during the Obama years and it
was sorry Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell but we wouldn't call millions
of Americans gaining health coverage a broken promise hashtag the Affordable
Care Act we're home voice so not so stunning and it's not it's not just on
Twitter the Prime Minister yesterday of the Netherlands was in the Oval Office
with our president they had this press conference it was very civil and then at
the end was reporters until the reporters got to ask questions as soon
as they wrapped up the rest conference reporters just started yelling watch

okay capture what was going on there was screaming and yelling and the Prime
Minister said it felt like he was at the Academy Awards with the cameras going
off and everybody barking at him there was a lot there was just a melee but
apparently this is what happens now in the Trump White House when reporters the
the press pool they figured this is their chance and it is their chance to
ask a question because oftentimes this president will answer their questions so
if he's gonna answer they're gonna ask this is also what the reaction looks
like when a Republican president actually fights back so when you put a
White House Twitter account you tweeted a couple of senators who have a policy
disagreement where it's gotta be stunning and historic and unprecedented
the amount of venom coming at him oftentimes from the press is unprecedent
yet he fights back and they don't like that yeah it's one thing if he uses his
personal account at real Donald Trump but it's another they say if they use
the official White House account oh yeah

bombing a youth soccer team and his coach are found trapped in a cave hungry
but alive and now it could take months to get them to safety rescuers now
trying to figure out how to bring the trapped boys to safety in Thailand work
is underway to partially drain the massive cave crews also considering
teaching kids how to dive to get them out u.s. military personnel have been
sent to assist a new legal setback for the Trump administration's immigration
policies a federal judge ordering ice to stop what critics call the arbitrary
detention of people seeking asylum the judge ruling the government is violating
its own rules when not granting humanitarian parole to immigrants who
have passed a credible fear screening the Trump administration has claimed
that the asylum system is being abused by foreigners who know how to game the
