The brother of Sacramento Kings forward Zach Randolph has been shot dead outside a club in Marion, Indiana

Roger Randolph is believed to have been shot about 5am, when an officer heard gunfire and found Randolph bleeding between two cars shortly after

He was killed in what police believe may have been a targeted attack, out the front of Hop's Blues Room

The 35-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, and investigators are still trying to track down the shooter

Police say casings from two different calibre guns were present at the scene, USA Today reported

And while at least 25 people were inside the bar at the time of the shooting, police told CBS they are not being forthcoming with details

Because they are not cooperating, investigators say they are struggling to put together exactly what happened and why

Share this article Share Roger had several brushes with the law, including for a 2004 shooting at a nightclub that wounded three people and landed him in prison

He was sentenced to three years jail for his role in the nightclub shooting in Anderson, which is about 30 miles (48 kilometers) south of Marion and is where court records say he had been living when he was killed

Zach Randolph was at the club on the night of the 2004 shooting and was questioned, but he wasn't charged

Roger was charged last year with OWI, the Indiana equivalent of driving under the influence

There was a hearing last week in that case, which was unresolved. The Sacramento Kings released a statement offering condolences to Zach and his family, calling Roger's death 'tragic'

'We are deeply saddened to learn of Roger Randolph's tragic death,' Kings general manager Vlade Divac said in the statement

'As a cherished member of the Kings family, our prayers, heartfelt condolences and thoughts are with Zach and his family during this painful and difficult time

' Roger Randolph was also a gifted basketball player growing up in Marion, but he got into trouble and was kicked off the high school team, before his mother sent him to a boarding school in Pennsylvania

Zach Randolph led Marion High School to a state championship in 2000 before heading to Michigan State University and then the NBA

In addition to the Kings, he has played for the Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers and Memphis Grizzlies

He is a two-time NBA All Star.
