USA news on Youtube Mar 20 2018

(Sports Analyst Inaudible)

The United States wins gold in Pyeongchang!

It's sort of a dream come true to bring back a gold medal--

--and have a clinic with 200 young girls.

I think back to when I was ten or eleven years old and I watched the 1998 Women's Hockey Team–-

-- win a gold medal.

It inspired me and gave me the confidence to want to chase this dream myself.

Being in the position now to have the opportunity to do that--

to some of these young girls out here... We take a lot of pride in that.

And, you know, it means a lot to us.

I think sports is a great motivator and great tool to promote peace--

-- and empower young women and girls all over the world.

We stood pretty strong on wanting to use our platform and use our sport to inspire the next generation...

To inspire young girls to want to dream big.

I remember when I was their age and the influence that--

--Cammi Granato and Angela Ruggiero's of the world had on me...

...and to be able to have that impact now is a huge dream come true--

--and also an awesome responsiblity.

You get to play a game that you love but at the same time...

...you're meeting other people, experiencing different cultures, and just living life and having fun.

OFICJALNA PREMIERA FILMU i PIERWSZE REAKCJE - Duration: 18:42.

We are delighted, David with what you did.

Most of all...

Oh yeah? That's very nice of you!

Yes, this movie is so well done.

It's edited very well.

Things that were in this film were skillfully brought to light.

There were really interesting things included.

There are characters here that talk about

immigration in a very positive sense but also

elements that are dramatic

and you could really shed a tear during this projection.

You're wondering what it's all going to look like

and if after today your life is still going to be the same.

It will never be the same.

And... we got some momentum going.

Right there behind me you see the Polish Home.

This is where the premiere is taking place today.

Our first serious film.

First full length documentary.

We've been working on it for pretty much half a year.

It's something incredible. Somehow all of this just...

came all together with the good will of many

wonderful people.

And we have a real movie premiere.

Real movie premiere.

In a room that was adjusted a little bit and now looks like a real movie theater room.

Gonna show it to you in a moment.

There's going to be pop-corn, coffee, cookies and musical performances in addition.

And a meeting with all characters that took part in our big film.

"Poles in USA: Between two worlds".

I'm impressed because...

this is what making your dreams come true looks like.

Real premiere of a film, a real full length documentray movie.

I think I said that enough.

Many enough times.

Let's just move to...

Let's go inside and see what's going on, how...

the preparations are going. We are right now about 2 hours before the premiere time.

Two and a half.

And it's really awesome, too bad you all cannot be here.

That's right.

Hello, hello!

Good day!

Listen, I said...

My wife had questions about this saying she won't be able to iron her clothes

And I said "there are more important things today"

..."to iron!"

"to iron" haha, exactly!

So what is your role in the Polish Home?

This year I am the new President in the Polish Home.

You don't say!

That's right.

It's all our pleasure!

Mr President!

Surely so.

Very nice to meet you.

Likewise.

It's about two minutes to seven right now, people are gathering.

There are maybe 50 people behind me in this room right now.

And I know many are definitely still coming.

So I think this is going to be pretty good.

Come here, you're experienced now so you can talk.

Come, come!

Are you stressed out?

Oh yeah, I am very stressed out.

Why?

Well in general, I think - we don't like seeing ourselves on the screen.

No?

No.

Then maybe after tonight you'll start liking yourself on the screen?

You know what... yes, maybe we will!

I know from several sources, from friends already that

it's popular over there. They've been waiting to see it.

I hope it's going to come out great but listen... such a director!

It can't be anything else.

Such main characters! The director was just recording.

There's a lot of us here.

The story is powerful in itself, we just captured it and moved to the screen.

I hope the audience likes it.

I hope we'll have large viewership.

Maybe we'll have more projects like this one and people will know more about us.

Very much so. We're moving forward!

Exactly.

What are your expectations?

Before this showing? We have good turn out. There is

maybe a hundred people here.

I just hope the like it and the way I came out... you know, I'll come out the way I do.

You came out great. You came out great!

I'll tell you that right away.

I have to brag and say that is what I'm hearing but I still can't believe it!

It's all good.

Biggest thank yous go to you for coming up with the whole thing.

No, no - biggest thank yous go to you!

No, no - to you but... it's all thanks to me and Blonnie talking during Sławek's party.

Yes.

We started talking over there.

It all started with the party.

That's when we started talking.

That is true, that's when I heard a little bit about your story first.

And then Blonnie said "you have to interview this guy".

Very nice.

Glad she thought about it that way.

That's how things rolled.

Great!

And now we have a film.

Let's see what comes out of this. I hope people like it.

Tonight we have the very first event that

During my time there was no projection like this here. You will see it in a moment.

In my humble opinion we are like a Kaleidoscope.

Polish people here in America.

Because we are so different and so colorful

telling all our stories is a fascinating task.

I'm afraid that the Polish language will somehow be forgotten.

Ania please come join us!

Come on! Come, come!

Paweł Przybycień, Marek.

Kasia.

Please come join us.

Beata.

Is this all or is someone still hiding somewhere?

Listen! Big applause!

For the bravery. Let's wait for the ones still joining.

Miss Katarzyna was a bit late.

Guillermo Haro , Guillermo Haro Google Doodle - Duration: 1:36.

Guillermo Haro's 105th Birthday is celebrated on 22nd of March 2018.

The Search Giant Google shows a doodle for Guillermo Haro in a USA and some other countries.

If you're stargazing tonight, look for three stars, closely aligned.

These are known as the 'Three Sisters', and they are part of the constellation Orion,

representing Orion's belt.

They belong to an astral region that pivoted Mexican astronomer Guillermo Haro to fame.

Born in Mexico in 1913, Haro grew up during the Mexican revolution and graduated in philosophy

before embarking upon a career in astronomy.

Amongst his biggest contributions to the science was the discovery of a type of planetary nebulae

named Herbig-Haro objects.

He also discovered flare stars - red and blue bright stars - in the region of the Orion

constellation.

These contributions led to Haro becoming the first Mexican elected to the Royal Astronomical

Society, in 1959.

Haro's legacy endures to this day through the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics,

and Electronics, which he established to support science students in their professional careers.

The institute also runs an observatory named after him in the Mexican state of Sonora.

When you look up at the sky tonight, wish a very happy 105th birthday to Guillermo Haro,

a star on his own right.
