USA news on Youtube Mar 14 2018

You see these medals?!

We don't got weak moves!

Oh, I said jumps.

Oh, c'mon.

We don't jump.

You're not even required to do it.

Ok, do I get your medal?

Do I get three medals, and now, you only have one?

Is that what the end result of this game is?

I can jump!

I can't jump...

I can't jump.

Hi guys, I'm Maia Shibutani.

And I'm her brother Alex Shibutani.

We just back from the Winter Olympics in Korea, where we competed in ice dance.

We won, not one, but two medals.

And today, we're going to find out who knows each other better.

I thought we were going to find out who the better #ShibSib was.

That, too.

That I win arguments.

I wrote, "always," and then I decided I wanted to look a little bit better for this video,

so I'm sometimes late.

You tend to be a bit tardy.

Rarely!

It rarely happens.

If you're on time, I'm like, really happy and surprised.

I wasn't late for the Olympics, though.

No, you were on time everyday there.

Brought it when it counted.

Yeah!

Once every four years, I'm on time.

I feel like whenever we do these, I end up looking bad.

I said the best thing is that we trust each other.

Oh. Man. See, I look!

See! This is what I mean.

I look bad.

I'm just trying to make you look bad.

No matter the results, we'll still be family and I trust you.

What about my jokes?

They're ok.

Oh, you probably said, like, Ravenclaw or something.

Gryffindor?

Yeah, I said Gryffindor.

What do you think I said?

Uh...

Hufflepuff?

Slytherin?

Ooooh!

Really?

We're going to talk about this after.

I said you, around athletes.

Because he's such a huge sports fan, that if he sees someone that he's always admired,

then, yeah.

Yeah, but like, you could see, like, Michelle Obama, and you'd be like, "Oh, hi."

Oh, I'd be so excited.

But see?

That's her reaction.

I met one of my favorite athletes, Zdeno Chára, and I had a hockey puck that I wanted him

to sign.

I was really nervous.

I had to like grab Alex.

Like, Alex, it's ok.

And he was super nice and now you guys are friends.

We're friends!

See!

Thanks, Maia.

You're welcome.

100%, you.

I mean, I proved it.

I had to erase something, and then do it over again.

It's definitely you.

Maia's way more organized than I am.

But being organized doesn't mean that I'm not — you're just messy.

Ok.

Right?

Yeah. I was trying to give you a compliment.

But, whatever.

That's fine.

My name isn't that long.

I think it's you, but you might say me!

Yeah, you got stinky feet.

I'm working harder.

Oh.

Gonna be diplomatic.

I said we're even.

That's why we're such a good team.

You know?

We have different strengths.

But we're both really good skaters.

I said you.

I said Maia, because she's got, really, like...

She's actually — I don't know if she'll do it.

She's really good at impressions.

She'll do an amazing impression.

I feel like it's just because I'm comfortable with you.

And I have to hear it, and then I can do it.

I can't just whip it out.

Ok. You mean you can't do a Christopher Walken right now for us?

Nope.

No?

Nope.

Not gonna happen.

Try?

Nope.

No?

Ok.

Just something that I get to enjoy.

Is there a winner in this?

I always lose when it comes to these things, because, like, I just have more faults.

We can call it a tie.

No one loses their medals.

Maia's the better #ShibSib.

Maia's the better #ShibSib.

I'm just saying it for the video so I look good.

Hm. Ok.

Why We Need a New Model of Farming Now - Duration: 1:37.

The U.S. feeds the world

doesn't it?

No.

Though the U.S. is the top corn and soybean producer,

these crops are used mainly to fuel cars

or feed livestock.

It wasn't always like this.

Family farmers

used to grow a variety of crops

and livestock

and the U.S. government endorsed policies

that put farmers first

ensuring they were paid fairly.

But then things changed.

Big food companies lobbied politicians

to put their interests first.

Farmers were pressured to get bigger

and produce more crops for less.

As farm sizes continue to increase,

farmers are unable to grow the variety of crops

they used to.

Instead they have to stick to one or two cash crops

like corn or soybeans

just to stay afloat.

The environmental costs are huge.

Growing only one crop

wears out the soil

and draws pests.

In response, farmers have to resort to using

dangerous chemical fertilizers

and pesticides

that leach into our water supply.

And it's not just happening in the U.S.

Big corporations around the world

are pushing out

family farmers everywhere

damaging soil, grabbing land,

and polluting water systems worldwide.

These companies eliminate farmers' livelihoods,

and harm everyone's health.

But farmers around the world are fighting back.

They're joining together to claim their rights

to land and crops.

We need a new model of farming now.

Will you join us?
