I will not explain what it is, just look for it on Wiki, in few words it is objects connected to internet.
And together with the concept of the Internet of Things, we have increasingly heard "Smart". Which basically, indicates an object that can interact with the network.
The most widespread examples are smartphones, smart TVs, smart watches, smart bulbs, but more we go ahead,
more objects become smart and since I work in the electric field, I want to talk about smart switches.
Smart switches are intelligent switches. Basically they are simple switches but connected to the network, which allows you to control them via an app.
Since here we touch the field of domotics, the cost starts to be quite high.
For obvious reasons. You can't pretend to be Jesus with the smartphone for free. But the brand I will present in this video allows you not to spend inhuman numbers.
This is the Sonoff line of ITeaD. Sonoff, which I think is for Smart On Off, to connect to what
I told you before, is a line that has an avalanche of low-cost smart items.
In this video, precisely, I'm talking about the Smart Switch module and the Wi-Fi Smart Touch Switch.
The first is a module that, at least theoretically, should be placed in a junction box
or however aways from children and idiots.
But the best way to use it is like I did, which is to create an extension.
This is because on the module there is a button that allows you to activate or deactivate the switch if it is not connected to the network.
In fact, to work, to control this module from the app, you must connect it to the network and then control it through the smartphone.
Making a little stuff, like I did, you can put it almost anywhere,
above all, to command abat-jour, lamps, floor lamps, this type of thing, however it depends on the use you want to make of it
and, in any case, I remind you, it is advisable to keep it away from children.
The second switch, instead, is a Wi-Fi touch switch.
It is a bit more complicated than the first, it must be inserted instead of a classic switch, then the whole piece must be dismantled.
So if you buy it and you do not know how to make this kind of connections, call an electrician.
Then, Wi-Fi Touch Switch. It's a normal switch, only it has the capacitive screen
so instead of lowering and raising the switch, you touch the switch as if it were a smartphone screen to turn it on or off.
Plus it's Wi-Fi because you can control it via app.
You download the eWeLink app, connect the switch to the network and you can control it from the app.
You do not have to be connected to the same network so it is enough that the smart switch and the smartphone are connected to the network
and you can control it even if you're on the other side of the world, just enough that both are connected to the network.
Both of these switches can be controlled via the app that, in addition to the classic On and Off,
allows you to do other types of customizations, such as the timer.
You can decide in which day and at what time to turn the switch on or off.
And you can also control these switches through Alexa and Google Assistant if you have the Amazon Echo, Google Home or Next solutions.
But there is a limitation because these switches are, in fact only switches so you can not put them instead of the buttons and the deviators,
however, for single rooms, bathrooms are very nice to look at, smart and they are also elegant.
The price, I think that many were waiting for this moment, is only 10 € (about, you can even find it at less)
for the module and about € 20 for the Wi-Fi Touch Switch.
It's ... nothing.
It's nothing because you count that a normal full switch of the bTicino series
costs around € 12 complete with plaque and all that stuff there.
Instead this solution is touch, allows you to control it via the smartphone ... € 20 is nothing.
Trust me.
I personally bought them both from eBay. This is because on Amazon I did not find the Wi-Fi Touch Switch in the Italian version
because there is only one for the round box and I have those that are used now, rectangular ones.
