USA news on Youtube Feb 16 2018

Good morning!

We kept aircon on all night as it has been sweltering

We were really tired yesterday and had headache

We had to skip a lot of stuff for that reason

Like washing clothes, that we're heading to do now

Feeling better today

Time for a new adventure

Looks like they're making asphalt

Washing clothes is easy here, you can use 25c coins

Then just put the machine on

Most campsites have these

There's also laundromats all around the place in America

You see ads for them quite often

It's common here to wash your clothes somewhere else

I remember from last time that the machines are pretty efficient

And they save water

Now some breakfast, then we pick up the laundry

This campsite cost around 45 dollars

Quite expensive night in one of these

But because of the temperature

It's nice to be connected to electricity so we can use the A/C

The plan was to go swimming as well but the pool was out of action

This was our first time doing laundry

It's about the time

I'll check the gas levels too

Plenty left

Three quarters full

We haven't used even half of it

Petrol stations have filling spots for gas

You can fill them on some campsites too

I don't think you're allowed to do it yourself, though

We're moving again finally

It's exactly 11 AM

Looks like they made the pool available

We could have probably had a swim

It was out of use during our stay

Now we're heading towards Vegas

We won't be stopping there but we'll drive through

We'll see where we end up

It's interesting here

There's a road toll when going to California

You're not allowed to bring fruits through it

They have clear restrictions

If you want to avoid any problems don't bring fruits with you

or firewood and stuff like that

It's quite interesting

They must be protecting their own agriculture

It feels a bit weird

It's such a small area

Last time I was stopped there

And they just asked if I have any fruits

I quickly replied that no and we continued

And later I remembered that we did

Area 51 is there

We don't know what's there

There's a really high wind and insanely hot

We drove past Area 51 a while ago

It's in middle of the desert

There's huge area around it where you're not allowed to enter

Now we're stopping here

Let's go see what's inside

Here we have pretty traditional shop, where you can buy all sorts of Area 51 stuff

We'll probably buy something

Now it'll be empty desert from here

Next petrol station is 90 miles away

That's around 150 kilometers

Luckily our tank is full

That was a lot of effort to find a spot for our car here

We're near Bishop

We've been here before too

Last time we arrived from a different direction

But we knew the place already

So we thought we'd come here

There's some stargazers here

It's completely full

We managed to find one spot

I'm on my way to check the notice beard if there's any regulations

Like making a campfire

I doubt It's 5 dollars for this campsite

You're meant to pay it at visitor center few kilometers away

The box seems to be out of service

Top 10 Greatest American Presidents - Duration: 11:47.

Hi, I'm Mr. Beat, and Presidents Day is coming up

One of my favorite holidays. We have a big sale every year

the inventory has to go

Our best and newest models are coming in

(Presidents Day commercial)

No, we're not talking about a car sale

We're talking about an actual holiday that celebrates the Presidents of the United States of America

Not the band, although that's a really great band. One of my favorite bands

The actual Presidents of the United States of America

and you have wanted this video for a very long time

Here are my top 10 Presidents of all time

Number 10, James Garfield

one of our smartest Presidents in history

I mean by many accounts he was very intelligent

He was a self-made man. Started from the bottom now we're here.

Ok? Lost his father when he was young.

Worked to pay for an education. Eventually became a businessman.

A professor, and then of course later a politician.

A Representative. Also a successful military leader for the Union in the Civil War.

As President, he appointed many African Americans to posts in his administration

which was unheard of at the time

Now he didn't last long in office as President

You may already know that he was assassinated shortly after getting into office but

he would have been amazing, so for what he would have been is why I rank him high

He made a name for himself fighting cronyism, fighting the political machines in Washington

just fighting corruption in general

Number 9, James Madison

James Madison, the Father of the Constitution of course. Many of the

best ideas of the Constitution that we take for granted, came from him.

And he pretty much wrote the Constitution, ok?

The Bill of Rights, most importantly

came from James Madison, so just on that alone

that's why he's one of my favorites

Now as President he was also a great leader in terms of, once that War of 1812 broke out

he did an amazing job leading the charge against the British defending the homeland

Now he was a bit foolish when he called for war against the British

but I digress

He was a key author of the Federalist Papers.

and again, when he was my age he was one of the leading voices at the Constitutional Convention

Number 8, John F. Kennedy

I have a lot of respect for his World War II service

I mean he saved a man's life, for crying out loud.

His leadership during the Cuban Missile Crisis was amazing.

I mean let's ignore the Bay of Pigs fiasco.

During the Cuban Missile Crisis, he did well. He learned from past mistakes.

He had found a way to ease relations with the Soviet Union.

At the height of the Cold War

He created the Peace Corps.

The Equal Pay Act, which I don't think gets enough attention.

Even though it was controversial, he moved Civil Rights legislation forward.

He just gave good, inspiring speeches. I mean I still get fired up watching his Moon Speech at Rice Stadium.

"We shall go to the moon!" I mean yeah, I'm fired up

Number 7, Harry Truman

I used to think much less of Harry Truman when I was younger.

I mean I judged him based on his decision to drop atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki

I didn't agree with that decision when I was younger, and I still struggle with that decision.

And then there were other things not to like about Harry Truman.

The Truman Doctrine, which really was all about us beginning to police the world

and get up in everybody's business

Some of his racist language that he used.

But then I learned more about Harry Truman

And the more I learned about him, the more I realized he was just a great, common sense leader.

who really considered all sides to issues

and he just tried to do what was best for the majority

He didn't always get it right, but he certainly did his best to make sure every voice was heard.

Plus, he played piano, and he's from the Kansas City area, so there's that.

Number 6, Theodore Roosevelt

Growing up, Theodore Roosevelt was my favorite President.

I mean, he was this larger than life figure who seemed like he could do just about anything

He was someone who fought for the common man

I kind of lived him up more than he actually was

I still respect Theodore Roosevelt tremendously

He went down the list just because of his foreign policy

The more I learned about his view of the world. A bit too American-centered

He could have learned a lot more about other cultures, I think

But his boldness was undeniable. I mean, he was an active President.

Before he was President, he signed up to fight a war he was really passionate about.

He wasn't just an advocate for the war, he actually fought in it.

He set new precedents for the role of President.

He stopped strikes. His push for national parks and his conservation efforts were amazing.

He bypassed political parties and institutions...went straight to the people.

Straight to the media. You know, he loved the press.

He was the first to have the press in the White House.

Theodore Roosevelt was all about justice.

He was a tough son of a gun.

Number 5, Dwight D. Eisenhower

Again, I'm a little biased here.

Eisenhower was raised in Kansas, my home state.

But, another World War II hero.

A phenomenal leader who helped the Allies get victory in that war.

No one can deny the importance of his leadership for an Allied victory.

Operation Overlord, the capture of Germany

That was him, and he later was the Supreme Commander for NATO, for crying out loud

He's a big reason why the Korean War ended

He had the foresight to see what was going wrong with that

Let's just end this, right now

The Interstate Highway System and NASA. I'm a fan of both, and that was him.

He appointed Earl Warren as Chief Justice for the Supreme Court.

Earl freaking Warren

Related to this, he sent federal troops to Little Rock to enforce school integration

after the Brown v. Board of Education decision

Eisenhower was a fairly moderate dude.

I mean, he saw the importance of social programs,

but also saw the importance of a limited government protecting liberty.

So he was a great balance of both.

Number 4, Thomas Jefferson

Definitely had some flaws, but I call him The Father of Civil Liberties

I mean he was a genius. I mean, the main author of the Declaration of Independence.

The Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom

His passionate support of the Bill of Rights, and the fact he popularized many of the ideas in the Bill of Rights.

His views were always evolving.

It's not like he had the same ideas his entire life.

He's what we call a Renaissance Man, right?

He was constantly trying to better himself and learn new things.

He can claim credit for the Louisiana Purchase, which was a bit controversial, but ultimately I think the right thing to do.

He saw the good in common people.

He promoted democratic ideals when most of the elite did not.

So he saw the good in people. I've always liked TJ for that.

Number 3, Calvin Coolidge

Probably the least egotistical of all the Presidents.

Did not have an ego.

Actually probably weakened the power of the Presidency.

The least political of all the Presidents.

That's great. I love apolitical Presidents.

Extremely modest dude, ok?

He's kind of gotten a bad rap, though.

My favorite quote of him, quote

"Perhaps one of the most important accomplishments of my administration has been minding my own business."

While the President doesn't create jobs, and isn't responsible for the entire economy,

the economy did happen to do very well under his watch.

More importantly, at the same time he shrank the national budget,

shrank the national debt,

while simultaneously somehow finding a way to cut taxes.

He was a fiscal conservative but a social progressive.

outspoken for women's rights and fighting corruption.

Had a humble foreign policy, and

anti-crony capitalism

He used common sense, and spoke honestly.

He never sugar-coated anything.

My number two often surprises a lot of people.

but it is Grover Cleveland.

and this may be a surprise, even to people who have watched this channel for a long time.

Grover Cleveland started out as a teacher. He was a classic liberal

who believed in limited government

which explains the majority of his vetoes.

He had more vetoes than any other President other than FDR.

He had a humble foreign policy. He was anti-interventionist.

And I think you know what I value with my political beliefs, but

but he was a big proponent of free trade

He was anti-crony capitalist probably more so than any other President.

He fought the government-corporate monopoly of the railroads.

Before he became President, he made a name for himself fighting corruption and fighting the political machines of the day.

And Grover was a man of integrity

A strong moral compass, he put aside his own selfish desires

always for the greater good

What more could you ask for for a public servant of our country?

And my favorite President of all time...

is George Washington, which many of you already knew

George Washington, the first President

Set all precedents

set the bar very high for all future Presidents

Before he was President, though, he was a military hero.

The French and Indian War, the Revolutionary War

More than anyone, he is probably the person most responsible for the United States becoming a country.

Against great odds, against the most powerful military in the world at the time.

George Washington was confident, but humble.

He never wanted to be President. You know, he was kind of forced into that position.

I mean, that's always been inspiring to me.

The fact that he limited his own power. He unwillingly took that position.

When everybody wanted him to be king, he said "no."

The humility of George Washington has always inspired me.

He limited himself in power, and the great example of that is limiting himself to two terms.

And set that precedent for future Presidents.

until FDR

He was President of the Constitutional Convention

when the Constitution was made

He was against political parties

He warned against them.

He warned against foreign entanglements and permanent alliances.

The Proclamation of Neutrality.

I mean, that's what I'm all about.

His leadership during the Whiskey Rebellion. I mean, he was out there personally leading troops on horse, for crying out loud.

And George Washington just an amazing leader. Respected by all, unified all Americans.

I can't imagine another President having as much impact as George Washington.

And that will do it, ladies and gentleman.

Those were my top 10 Presidents of all time.

And next week, be sure to tune in because I'm going to be counting down the worst 10 Presidents of all time.

Who will be on that list? Tune in next week to find out.

This has been a lot of fun. Thanks for watching. And Happy Presidents Day!

Mr. Beat coming at ya, with much shorter hair now.

And I want to give a shout out to my friend Dave, who I met at Vidcon last year.

He has a YouTube channel called Professor Dave Explains

And he is in the process of making biography videos

about every President in American history

He just finished William Henry Harrison

I put the playlist below, you should go check it out.

Who is your favorite President? And why? Let me know in the comments below.

What are Your Top 10 Language Learning Goals for the Year? - Duration: 7:09.

Wanna speak real English from your first lesson?

Sign up for your free lifetime account at EnglishClass101.com

Too much information!

Hi everybody, and welcome back to Top Words.

My name is Alisha, and today we're gonna be talking about your top ten language learning

goals for the year.

Sounds good, right?

Let's go!

I'll finish the survival phrases series on EnglishClass101.com by listening to two lessons a day.

The first goal is I'll finish the survival phrases series on EnglishClass101.com by listening

to two lessons a day.

Wow!

That sounds like a good goal.

Two lessons a day, that doesn't sound too bad, I suppose, having never listened to one

of these because I speak English already.

But I mean, if it's if it's only like two or three minutes, you could do that, like,

one in the morning and one at night.

I'll finish reading one English book by reading ten pages a day.

Oh! That's a really good goal, actually.

Actually, I have this goal for myself for Japanese and I'm doing a terrible job of it,

because I picked a book that was too hard.

So I guess if you want to do this you should pick a book that's just a little challenging

for you, I think that's the best thing to do, something just tough so you learn while

you read.

I'll pass my English test.

The next goal is I'll pass my English test.

So hopefully all of you will pass any English tests that you have coming up or get the score

that you want on your English certification exam.

Again, I think it's just an everyday thing, like, studying every day, making it a habit

is the best.

I'll memorize five English songs.

Whoo!

Oh, the next one, I used this technique when I started learning Japanese, actually.

This goal is I'll memorize five English songs.

Songs were great because like the melody helps the words stick in your head, but it does

make things a little bit weird because you might end up using like an intonation pattern

or a speaking pattern that's not so natural, but you can at least kind of remember phrases

or remember how words are supposed to fit together, even if it's not necessarily grammatical,

you know, you might still be able to use it.

Actually this is a surprisingly easy one, if you just take time listen to the songs

and repeat after the singer the same way that you would for a song in your native language,

this one's a pretty fast goal, I think.

I'll finish memorizing 350 words with flashcards on EnglishClass101.com.

The next goal is I'll finish memorizing 350 words with flashcards on EnglishClass101.com.

350 words with flashcards, I wonder how long that would take.

350 words, if you learn, I don't know, 350 words, I feel like you could do that in like

a couple months, pretty easy; if you're ambitious, a couple weeks.

That's a good one.

I'll write 10 postcards in English to my English-speaking friends.

The next goal is I'll write 10 postcards in English to my English-speaking friends.

That's sort of cute, actually, I would be sort of happy to get a postcard from a friend,

like, you don't get postcards these days, and like a handwritten one from someone who's

studying English.

That'd be really cute, I'd like this.

Hey, all my friends watching this video, will you send me a postcard?

Okay.

I'll send you one in my really bad Japanese and you can make fun of my handwriting, looks

like an elementary school student's.

I'll learn how to talk about past, present, and future events.

So the next goal is I'll learn how to talk about past, present and future events, this

should really already be a goal, this is pretty much what language is.

Like, language is a tool to talk about past, present, and future events and potential events

as well, if you're watching this video, you're probably studying it right now.

I'll master 150 words by memorizing five words a day.

The next goal, similar to one we just saw a few minutes ago is, I'll master 150 words

by memorizing five words a day, that sounds pretty good five words a day sounds fine,

just make sure to review so you don't forget the five words you learned the day before.

Find a way to make sure that you don't forget the words you've already learned.

But five words a day seems pretty reasonable if you can stick with it.

I'll become a better English writer by journaling every day.

The next goal is I'll become a better English writer by journaling every day.

I think this is a really good goal to have, actually, just doing something, writing something,

creating something in your target language, in this case, in English, is great.

I do this in Japanese, like, I don't hand write but I use sometimes I use like Twitter

or Instagram, like, just to try to say what I would like to say in, of course in English,

but also to try and say it in Japanese, as well.

So I use writing as a way to just try to create language every, roughly, every day or so.

I'll watch one history documentary a week to learn more about the United States.

The next goal is I'll watch one history documentary a week to learn more about the United States.

Oh, this is interesting, this is a cultural goal, really.

So watching the documentary is a nice way to practice your language, but because this

goal has a history documentary in the goal name, you'd be learning about the culture

of the country, the culture behind the language that you speak a little bit.

That's a really good goal, actually, I like that one.

Okay, that is the end, that was the last one!

All right, so those are ten goals for learning English this year.

So maybe one of your goals was included in this list, if you have a different goal for

your language learning this year, please leave it in a comment, let us know how it goes,

too.

Thanks very much for watching this episode of Top Words.

If you haven't already, please be sure to LIKE this video and subscribe to our Channel.

Thanks very much and we'll see you again soon. Bye!

Whoa! That's a big goal, watching the same movie every day, that is a really hardcore.

I wonder what movie would you watch.

Groundhog day.

Clearly, like there was any other choice.

Yeah, I was gonna say, like, Star Wars.

But that's probably not a very good choice because it's like science fiction, I would

want to use a movie that's like you know you can pick up like lines from actually use them.

Maybe like a comedy then, or even like, it sounds dumb but like, a romance, like, what's

that call? A chick-flick.

Yeah, you know, like cheesy romance movies, those might be good.

Rom-Com.

Yeah, honestly, because there's so much like normal dialog in those.

Yeah, wow, that would be quite a goal.

Wow, if anybody does that, 10 points for you!

DRAGON BALL FIGHTERZ Goku destroys Android 21 !! - Duration: 9:33.

DRAGON BALL FIGHTERZ

Goku destroys Android 21 !!

Aghhh! I can not stand it anymore !!

ENI3

Here we are, No. 21 !! Come on, come out!

Come and try to eat us! Vegeta is going to break your face!

If it comes to eating, I think the Saiyans win, I have no doubt.

Puff. The same as fighting! No one can face a Saiyan in that field.

Aaaagh! I can not stand it anymore !!

I want to eat them. A symphony of candy is chanting my name!

Nº21 !

Is that No. 21?

I guess ... I should thank you all for coming. This is practically a buffet.

What awaits you is not a buffet. It's a beating! Although I would like there to be a buffet around here.

Idiot ... do you really think you can win?

The food is to be swallowed, not to be heard.

I have ... so eager to eat ... You will be part of my delicacy ... right now!

Well ... I think it's dinner time!

Time-out!

Time-out? What!? I was going to break your face!

Go, forgive ... it's just that ... you're much stronger than I thought.

If we are going to go to the top, look for a place where we do not have to contain ourselves!

S-Son Goku?

So putting the planet first, eh, Kakarot? I see that this time you play safe ...

You're right, Vegeta ... I would prefer to fight without having to worry about whether we put up a mess, do you know what I'm saying?

You're suggesting we take this fight off the planet, right? But where?

Hey, I know a place! It will be perfect!

Grasp all of me. We're going for a walk.

Bye! We'll be waiting for you!

Ahhhhhh!

Ahhhhh! When I catch you!

And this is the story ... would you let us fight here? Please....

Agh ... that typical of you bring problems to my door.

The sacred Kaiyoshin World is not your personal playground!

I know ... but it's the only place I could think of. Wow, sorry ...

It will be safer to bring the fight here, but ... can No. 21 get here?

Yes ... It will come. I know. I believe.

Hey, decide, Son Goku ...

If it does not come ... we'll have to devise another plan, it's not that bad!

By the way, uh ... If it's not annoying, what are Bills and Whis doing here?

We wanted to see the show.

As you had anticipated, Bills, they have moved the final bout right to this site.

Well ... I guess the Earth will hold a piece for another day.

Mortals are so predictable ... it's a shame.

By the way, guys ... I would look up!

Eh ?

Ugh...

I found you

You've arrived here faster than I expected!

I see ... you could say that ... Android 21 has already arrived.

Hmmmm....?

Do you have any chance Goku and his friends?

No. 21 is very powerful. Honestly, I do not know who will win.

I can not believe it!

Ji, ji, ji... ¡Jo, jo, jo!

Has broken?

What a tasting menu of strong fighters!

Is incredible! I feel like a girl in a candy store! Literally!

It will be the other way around. We are the ones who will eat you.

Aghh !! What joy! I have died and gone to the sky of the androids!

I can hardly contain myself! This could not have been better!

So that is the origin of your power. I think I begin to understand it.

Ah... Agh! Agh!

You are mine. All mine! I'm going to beat you ... and I'm going to eat you!

I will satisfy my appetite with each one of you!

Scoundrels!

Now!

Bah!

Final Flash!

Masenko!

Missile dies dies!

Disk destroyer!

Special beam cannon!

Become chocolate!

Kame...hame....haa!

Agh! As? How have I lost?

Damn it! Damn you! Condemned ... scum ... biological...

Nagh!

Uff! These youngsters have done it!

Well done, Son Goku!

Our world is quite strong, and even so you have left it for the drag.

I'm sorry, old man. I'll make it up ... Maybe ... Someday.

After all this, we still do not know who was No. 21 exactly.

Or who was the mysterious person who was trying to save Android Nº 16.

Wow ... there are still many questions that have been left without an answer.

Seriously, Whis, who cares? It is not our business.

Although my appetite was opened when the robot girl started talking about sweets.

In that case, why do not we ask Bulma to prepare a selection of delights from Earth?

Oh, does that mean you want more?

Hey, if you want answers, you're free to search for them yourself.

Whis! I'm going to eat your part if you do not hurry!

Oh, well ... I'm coming!

Oh ... and tell me everything as soon as you discover something!

DRAGON BALL FIGHTERZ

THANKS FOR WATCHING THE VIDEO !!
