(pensive music)
- [Narrator] Every year, Chevron and other oil companies
generate billions of gallons of toxic wastewater
from their oil fields in California.
Water samples have determined that the wastewater
contains dangerous chemicals, some of which cause cancer.
These oil companies are running out of places
to dump their wastewater,
so they're selling it to farm districts
to grow our fruits, nuts, and vegetables.
- People are outraged, especially parents,
when they find out that the products they're buying,
sometimes organic products are actually being raised
with oil and gas wastewater.
The Wonderful Company which owns Halos mandarins,
POM Wonderful, and Wonderful Almonds and Pistachios
grows some of its crops with the wastewater.
And Grimmway carrots, which owns Cal-Organic
and Bunny Luv brands, grows its carrots in a district
where oil field wastewater is mixed with the groundwater.
- [Narrator] These products are everywhere,
and we're feeding them to our kids.

that you want this practice stopped now.
