Nancy Pelosi Slams Trump for Embassy Move, Forgets Her Own Vote from 1995 | MK Today
The memories of liberals are short lived, that much is certain.
Case in point: Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who apparently can't even remember her own
voting record.
So, when she went on the warpath to slam President Donald Trump for his decision to move the
U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, we thought it might be a good idea to refresh
her memory.
In October of 1995, the House overwhelmingly voted in favor of moving the embassy to Jerusalem
in the Jerusalem Embassy Relocation Implementation Act.
It was a bipartisan vote, with the final tally at 374-37.
The Act stated:
"Jerusalem should remain an undivided city in which the rights of every ethnic and religious
group are protected; Jerusalem should be recognized as the capital of the State of Israel; and
the United States Embassy in Israel should be established in Jerusalem no later than
May 31, 1999."
Who was on the list of "Yeas?"
None other than Nancy Pelosi herself.
In fact, over 150 of her fellow Democrats supported the act and voted for it.
So, when she stepped forward — along with her fellow Democrat colleagues — to criticize
Trump's decision, we can't help but point out her hypocrisy.
Pelosi said, "In the absence of a negotiated settlement between Israel and the Palestinians,
moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem now may needlessly spark mass protests, fuel tensions,
and make it more difficult to reach a durable peace."
So, things were better in 1995?
If they were, Ms. Pelosi, why didn't you push to get the embassy immediately moved
after you voted for it?
Obviously, at the time, you thought it was a great idea.
Or maybe it had something to do with the fact that a Democrat was in the White House when
you voted?
The hypocrisy among the left is absolutely sickening.
When a Democrat was in office, they thought this decision was a great move.
However, now that President Trump is in the Oval Office, it's apparently a horrible
decision.
This is partisan politics at its finest.
We know you've voted for a lot of things over the years, Congresswoman Pelosi.
It can be tough to remember it all.
Don't worry, though — we'll always be here to remind you of your voting record.
Do you think she's being hypocritical?
