USA news on Youtube Nov 6 2017

Hi guys! Well there's something very exciting going on the moment! Rags and I

are moving house! So I decided to do a video to share with you some guys some risks and tips with packing with a cat

Now obviously there are going to be risks and there are going to be things that you can do to make this easier on

yourself and your cats so if you want to learn some tips on how to pack with your cats just carry on watching

Now the first one is watch out for boxes! exhibit A

This is a really obvious one! Cats go together with boxes like copy and paste

Cats are just utterly and fascinated boxes and can't resist

climbing into any one of them that they see now seeing that you're going to be

packing there's gonna be lots and lots of boxes but shrewd around the house that you're going to be filling sporadically

No wonder where Ragsy is?

Where could she possibly be? Oh look there she is yeah just make sure

that you keep an eye out for your cat while you're filling these boxes you

don't want to accidentally smother them with loads of clothes or put something

heavy on top of them from the kitchen so before you fill a box make sure that

there isn't a cat already in residence

Second one is moving men are scary now

obviously they're not but - your cat they might be they are invading your

home and they are people that your cat aren't familiar with they're bring it in

some unfamiliar smells, un familiar sounds and basically it's going to be

chaos in your house for a few hours so the best thing to do is make sure that

that's somewhere that your cat is shut away that is safe and quiet and away

from all the commotion this is especially important if your cat is more

of an outdoorsy cats all the chaos that's going around our house may freak

them out a lot and they might run off and go and hide somewhere and not come

back for maybe a few hours or a few days you definitely definitely don't want

that happening now if you can like as we did with Rags - get your cat to go

spend a couple of days somewhere else either with a loved one or in a cattery

that it's going to be so much easier on both you and your cat!

Rags is gonna go spend a couple of days my grandparents which she absolutely loves

Third one is keeping people informed now going on from my last tip if you're going to

be having a house full of strangers it is best to let them know that not only

are you moving a house but you're moving a cat as well make sure that they know

exactly what room your cat is in and their safe space so they can be quiet

around the room and not disturb your cat! most people have pets nowadays so

hopefully they will empathise! Don't forget wherever your cat is in their

safe space make sure that there's fresh water, fresh food maybe snacks toys and

the litter tray the fourth one is let them investigate now with all the boxes

and the furniture coming out your house it's going to be in a bit of disarray

now while it's a good idea to keep your cat away from most of this chaos once

you stop packing for the evening let your cats have a wander around the

house and investigate you have to remember that this is their home too so

if anything is out of place they're going to want to investigate it

so in an evening make sure the windows and doors are shut so anything that is

dangerous to your cat is out the way and let them have a look around the house

maybe follow them around just to make sure they don't get themselves stuck

anywhere but they need to know that there are no threats in their immediate

home and the fifth point is keep tabs on your Tabby! Or whatever kind of cat you have

Now obviously what you're packing your house is going to be very very busy

and very very messy it's very important to keep tabs on where your cat is if you

are packing and it's just you and your family without the movements make sure

that you keep regular tabs on your cat to make sure they're not crawling into

anywhere that's become free recently cabinets cupboards boxes and anywhere they

can get themselves into a little bit of trouble

so just remember to keep an eye out for your cat and once you are done packing

for the day look in boxes and little looks and Cray's that they may get

themselves into just to make sure they're not stuck somewhere while we've

been packing maybe making sure that Rags is in the room with us somewhere

whether she's curled up on our bed or she's in the kitchen having something to eat

while she's just starting a couch in the living room it is just easier to have

them around you so you know exactly where they are
