Do you have any comments on the minimum level of ketones in the blood

to overcome the glucose deficit?

Because a lot of people run at full five,

some people may run at a half or three quarters.

Do you have any comments on that?

I do, I don't know the answer but I'll tell you my opinion,

which is that I think it's less about how many ketones are floating around in your blood

than what your insulin and blood sugar levels are.

And so I think a lot of people chase high ketone levels perhaps unnecessarily.

I'm not a seizure expert or neurologist so I don't know if...

It looks as though very high ketone levels may be required

to treat certain conditions and I haven't looked at that literature,

but my understanding and my experience with ketogenic diets

is that it's really more about keeping your blood sugar in a normal range

so that your insulin levels will be nice and low

and then how many ketones in your blood...

just because they are in your blood doesn't mean you're burning them.

So your ketone levels may be very high,

but it just may be because you just ate a whole lot of fat.

And that doesn't necessary mean that your metabolism is better at that moment

than it is at other moments, if that makes sense.

President Trump prepared to wrap up his 12-day trip to Asia on Monday by attending an economic

conference in the Philippines, including a meeting with its controversial president,

Rodrigo Duterte, that touched only briefly on human rights.

The two leaders focused on fighting the Islamic State, drug trafficking, and trade issues,

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said, adding: "Human rights briefly came up

in the context of the Philippines' fight against illegal drugs."

Trump did not say publicly whether he would bring up the series of extra-judicial killings

that have marked the Philippines' war on drugs, instead telling Duterte in remarks to reporters

that "we've had a great relationship" and "this has been very successful."

Duterte, who has bragged about personally killing people as part of his anti-drug effort,

returned the pleasantries, telling Trump he was looking forward to discussing issues of

mutual concern.

In addition to Duterte and other meetings at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations

(ASEAN) summit, Trump teased the approaching end of his trip by telling reporters he would

have a "major announcement" Wednesday back at the White House on the two issues that

topped the Asia agenda: trade and North Korea.

Rex Tillerson to Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into possible campaign collusion

with Russia.

"They really want to know what is his end game," said DiMaggio, a scholar at New America

who specializes in talking with rogue regimes and has spent nearly two decades in secret

discussions with the North Koreans.

She believes they were ready after Trump's surprise election to discuss a new round of

official talks with the U.S. to defuse the standoff over their nuclear weapons – but

that Trump's escalating rhetoric and Twitter rants such as his weekend taunting of North

Korea's "short and fat" Kim Jong Un may have foreclosed that option.
