The Nissan Cima Y31 (Cedric) just arrived in Los Angeles from Japan!
It is so cool!!
I forgot how cool this car.
The suspension (coilovers) were raised so the car didn't scrape on the boat.
One of the first things I got to do is lower it!
I can't wait to drive this car!
I really forgot how cool this car was!
This car looks to be in really good shape.
I think it might have a Carrozzeria stereo too!
I didn't realize Cima is in the Cedric line.
I always thought Cedrics were cool.
The VIP body kit and look are courtesy of VIP Company and Junction Produce.
I love the power seat control like this in the door panel!
It's so retro mounted like this in the door panel.
This must be one of the first cars designed with all these controls in the steering wheel.
I don't think there were may cars before this one with this many controls.
The AC in all Japanese cars seems to work really well!
The smell of old cigarettes is really strong!
I wonder what this is??
Maybe its the ETC toll reader??
This brake release is huge!!!
It's really prominent here right in the middle.
I wonder if it can be used to drift this car??
I gotta clean this car up.... drop the suspension....
and get it out for its first ride on American turf!
I can't wait!
Welcome to America Mr. Cima!!
This is so interesting!
This looks like a very early factory navigation system!
Wow! Really??? It has to be aftermarket!
Was there factory navigation in 1990????
This control is exactly as it is in all Nissan's of this era...
same as in the R32 GT-R also...
This was the design 25-27 years ago!
I found something else really cool!!!
This is awesome!!!!!
Built in right in the middle of the console is a cassette tape player!!
I gotta find my old cassettes!!
This must have been a factory option back then!
It looks like an expensive option from back then!
I am pretty convinced this was a factory navigation system.
The controls are all navigation related...
This must be one of the earliest navigation systems factory in a car!
I wish the original navigation was actually still in the dash!
This is fascinating!
I'd love to see the actual original navigation unit.
This car has been on the water for the past 2 weeks or so...
It's really dirty!
The car needs to be cleaned up for sure!
A detail cleaning will come later but for now I need to get the heavy dirt off.
I can't show this car to anyone looking like this so we need to clean it up fast...
Look how nasty it is!
California has a lot of water restrictions...
That's why products like this are used a lot.
"Spray on Car Wash"
Water is scarce and water also sits in metal panels and is the cause of rust.
A product like this is used without water and works very well.
Just using a microfiber towel, it cleans up really quickly.
We're gonna get into detail next time but for now this is a quick effective car wash!
Look at how dirty it is!
California is very strict about water use and car washing too.
Therefore a product like this is a very good quick effective solution!
It definitely still needs to be compounded and waxed...
and those Magic Eraser "melamine" sponges used to in places...
I gotta lower the car asap as well.
Toyotas of this era are cool but this car has more stuff than I've ever seen before!
I keep finding more and more crazy stuff on it!
I don't believe it!
Is this a wiper on the side view mirrors!!??!! No way!
Is this a factory option too??
I have never seen a wiper on side view mirror before. I'm in shock!! Amazing!
I have been around hundreds/thousands of cars and have never seen this before!
Big Thumbs Up right here!!

I can't wait to try these wipers!
Here goes my first official test drive in the Cima!
You can hear the turbo!
I went across the street to put gas in before.
2 seperate people came and said how cool they thought the Cima was.
That made me feel great!
This is such an interesting car!
The more I'm in it, the more I see how ahead of its time Nissan was!
I haven't lowered it yet but I'm driving it tonight anyway!
The turbo sounds good!!
This car is much faster than the Crown!
It's got a little turbo lag.
This seems like a really fun car!
I can't wait to wake up tomorrow morning and get this thing lowered!
That's gotta get done right away!
I'm gonna concentrate on driving right now...
