USA news on Youtube Aug 23 2017

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) appeared to get into a pointed but apparently good-natured Twitter

tiff Tuesday with Trump administration budget chief Mick Mulvaney, a fellow South Carolinian

and former House member.

Mulvaney tweeted a barb about Gowdy's famously shape-shifting mop of hair and joked that

he'd buy Gowdy a comb and razor for his 60th birthday.

Gowdy just turned 53.

That's when Gowdy fired back: "I'm just a couple of haircuts away from equaling the

number of staff departures by your WH colleagues," the congressman tweeted.

"I get it.

You are hard to work with."

The sharp retort referred to the raft of senior departures from the West Wing in recent weeks,

including Reince Priebus and Steve Bannon, senior aides to President Donald Trump.

The joke-feud seemed to escalate throughout the day, after Mulvaney's initial tweet

about Gowdy's hair was picked up by the Washington Examiner.

"Mick won't even fund Meals on Wheels," Gowdy told the newspaper.

"He surely isn't going to pay for someone else's haircut."

Mulvaney's initial offending tweet included four pictures of Gowdy with alternating hairstyles.

"What do you get for someone on his 60th birthday?

A razor and a comb," Mulvaney tweeted.

"Happy birthday, @TGowdySC."

"Game Of Thrones" Season 7 Finale Title Teases A Huge Revelation Coming For Jon Snow | GoT S7E7 - Duration: 4:18.

"Game Of Thrones" Season 7 Finale Title Teases A Huge Revelation Coming For Jon Snow.

Following a half-dozen explosive episodes, the seventh season of Game of Thrones is coming

to an end on August 27.

Fans are particularly excited for this final chapter because it will show us where the

show is going for its final season.

The teaser attached to "Beyond The Wall" gave us an idea of what to expect from it.

Aside from the powerhouse reunion, there wasn't much in the teaser for us to pick out.

Fortunately, a newly-surfaced detail might have given us a clue for one of the biggest

developments in the series yet.

HBO has revealed the name of the Season 7 finale (drumroll please) "The Dragon And The

Wolf."

You better prepare yourself to watch this episode, because it will be the longest one

in the show's history, clocking in at an impressive 79 minutes and 43 seconds or 1 hour, 19 minutes.

While HBO is keeping story details close to its chest, the title holds a lot of weight

for the show and its future.

There are two possible meanings behind it.

Is Jon and Daenerys's Relationship Taking The Next Step?

As mentioned, the Season 7 finale teaser showed us a big reunion between Cersei, Jaime, Tyrion,

Daenerys and Jon Snow as they prepare to go to war against the White Walkers.

But here's the thing, "The Dragon and the Wolf" (a clear reference to the Starks and

Targaryens) is noticeably lacking a Lannister reference, which could hint at the episode

focusing on the Stark and Targaryen houses, specifically their most famous members right

now, Dany and Jon.

"Beyond the Wall" confirmed what fans have been speculating for a long time, Jon and

Dany have strong feelings for each other.

The pair shared a tender moment when the Targaryen ruler praised our favorite former bastard

for his bravery, and Jon in turn decided to bend the knee.

This is speculation on my part, but with that precedent — and the title hinting at a strong

focus on the characters — the finale could further their relationship and show them coming

to terms with their mutual romantic feelings.

Full disclosure, I'm not a fan of them becoming an item (because well, they're aunt and nephew),

but Game of Thrones is famous for the casual way in which it deals with incest, so anything's

possible.

Or ... Will Jon Finally Discover That He Is A Targaryen?

With that said, what if the title isn't hinting at Jon and Dany falling in love, but at the

possibility of the King of the North finally realizing his true identity?

We learned last season (courtesy of Bran) that Jon wasn't Ned Stark's bastard, but rather

the son of Lyanna Stark and RhaegarTargaryen.

That makes Jon both a Stark and a Targaryen.

Essentially, he's a dragon and a wolf at the same time.

Taking that into account, "The Dragon and The Wolf" could be a sign of both sides of

the character finally coming together, of Jon Snow learning his true origin.

That's not some wild speculation on my part either.

Earlier in the month, the HBO leaks reportedly revealed that Rhaegar will be making an appearance

in Season 7 (rumored to be played by Wilf Scolding).

There's only one episode left, which means the finale will most likely mark the prince's

long-awaited introduction.

Furthermore, it was confirmed earlier this season that Jon wasn't a bastard because Rhaegar

dissolved his previous marriage and then tied the knot with Lyanna during their eloping

adventure.

Again, this is speculation, but Rhaegar's first appearance could be interwoven with

Jon finally figuring out his true identity.

That would have great implications going into Season 8, because Jon Snow would now be entitled

to the Iron Throne, which could theoretically cause a whole lot of problems for Cersei,

who forcefully took it.

(And for Dany, who has spent years building an army to win it back for her family.)

Out of the two possible meanings behind the title, I'm hoping it's the latter.

Jon has lived his whole life feeling like he doesn't belong anywhere, so it'd be nice

to see him realize his relevant lineage.

Either way, though, going by the show's reputation of shocking season finales, we're in for a

quite a surprise for Season 7.

We'll get to know for sure when "The Dragon and The Wolf" arrives on August 27.

Do you think the episode will focus on Dany and Jon's relationship?

If not, what could it be referring to?

Let me know in the comments!

Family of missing Chinese scholar asks US president for help

Family of missing Chinese scholar asks US president for help.

The father of a missing Chinese scholar in the US has asked US President Donald Trump to direct all available Federal law enforcement and investigatory resources to help find his daughter Zhang Yingying.

As a loving father to your own children, you can understand what we are going through, said Zhang Ronggao in a letter to the US president.

Zhang is the father of Yingying who was a visiting scholar of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and went missing in June.

He said Yingyings dream was to finish her studies in the US and return to China to become a university professor. Yingying means the whole world to us. She has always made us proud..

Zhang Ronggao expressed his grief and desperation in the letter, saying with each passing day, the chances of finding Yingying alive decrease. We cannot image returning to China without her, the letter said.

The letter was read out by Yingyings family at a press briefing on Tuesday. We will not go back (to China) unless we find Yingying, the family told Xinhua in an interview Monday.

The family also explained the usage of the funds raised under the name of Zhang Yingying at the press conference.

Besides the 50,000-dollars reward for clues to whereabouts of Yingying, part of the fund has been used to finance the daily life of the family members in the US, under strict supervision.

Zhang Yingying went missing on June 9 after entering a black Saturn Astra. FBI arrested Brendt Christensen, the car owner, on June 30, accusing him of kidnapping Zhang on June 9 in Urbana, 225 km southwest of Chicago.

The police and FBI believe Zhang is dead, but her body has not been found. Christensen has pleaded not guilty at the courthouse. UIUC has the largest Chinese student population studying in the US, totaling 5,600.

You have 90 days from the last time you did any work on the job to file a lien in Washington.

If you are within your deadline, you next step is to prepare the lien form.

A lien form is simply a document listing key information about your job and the amount

owed to you.

Fill the document out carefully, because little mistakes can result in your lien getting rejected

or being declared void.

With a prepared lien form, you're ready to get it filed.

You will file your lien at the recorder's office in the county where the job was located.

You may want to call the county beforehand because they can be picky about filing fees,

formatting provisions, and any additional documentation that will be needed to record

your lien.

recording office.

After standing in their line and paying the recording fees, you'll have a recorded Washington

mechanics lien in-hand.

Are you waiting to get paid on an Oregon construction project?

If so, you may be thinking about filing a mechanics lien.

Here are some things you need to know.

First, check your calendar.

In Oregon, you have 75 days from when you last work on a job to get your lien filed.

This is a strict time period, and once the window closes, it closes forever.

If you still have time, the next step is prepare your Oregon mechanics lien form.

The lien form is simply a document that gets filed with the county recorder – but be

careful - the form and all of the information that goes on it has to be exactly right.

Once your form is ready, you'll need to print it out, sign it, get it notarized, and

bring it to the county recorder's' office for filing -- which means physically going

there, standing in their line, and paying all recording costs.

Counties can be picky, so it's a good idea to give them a call beforehand to learn about

the filing fees, any special requirements, and formatting rules.

With your recorded lien in hand, the last step is to serve a copy of the lien on the

property owner.

If there's a mortgagee on the property or anyone with an earlier filed lien or security

interest, you'll need to serve them a copy of the lien, too.

You can serve the lien by sending it to these parties by certified mail with return receipt

requested.

That's it!

You may have a bunch of other questions like: Do I need to use a legal property description

in the lien?

How To File a Kentucky Mechanics Lien - Duration: 2:31.

Did you work on a construction project in Kentucky and still have not received payment?

Are you ready to take action?

One option you may be considering is filing a mechanics lien.

Here's what you'll need to know:

First, check your calendar.

In Kentucky, you have 180 days from last working on a job to get your lien filed.

This may feel like plenty of time, but don't let the deadline sneak up on you.

Getting a mechanics lien recorded can take time and once the deadline has passed there's

no going back.

Next, you'll need to prepare your lien form.

What is a mechanics lien?

A mechanics lien in Kentucky is a very powerful and effective way to collect on a slow paying

job, and the form itself is just a simple document you file with the county clerk's

office in the county where work was performed.

While the form is straight-forward, be careful, because you'll need to make sure you have

every detail exactly right.

Once you've completed your lien document, it's time to get it signed and notarized,

and then into the hands of the county clerk's office.

This means printing it out, standing in line, paying their fees, and waiting for them to

process it.

This can take anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks depending on the county so be

prepared to wait.

Plus, county clerks can be really picky, with different requirements for formatting, wording,

and fees.

It's a good idea to give them a call beforehand to avoid getting it wrong and having your

lien rejected.

One final, but important, step is to notify the property owner about your lien.

This is simple - just slip a copy of your lien into the mail within 7 days of filing

with the county.

While you can send this by regular US mail, sending the copy certified mail, return receipt

requested will provide proof of compliance.

Don't neglect this step, failure to comply with this requirement will result in the dissolution

of the lien.

That's it!

Not too bad, right?

But maybe you have more questions like:

Who cancels the lien when I get paid?

What sort of legal property description do I need to include?

How long do I have to enforce a recorded mechanics lien?

To find the answers to these questions and to learn more about filing a lien or sending

a notice in Kentucky, check out zlien.com.

We have frequently asked questions, free templates, deadline info and more.

And if you're ready to make the process really easy and have someone take over some

of those picky details, just fill out the form on our website and press go.

How to File An Iowa Mechanics Lien - Duration: 2:21.

Are you waiting on payment for a construction job in Iowa?

You may be considering filing a lien to help you get paid.

Here are a few things you'll need to know.

First, you'll want to check your calendar.

If you're within 90 days of doing any work or delivering any materials to the job, then

you're able to file a lien that fully protects your rights to payment.

You have the option to file up to two years after that deadline, but you can only recover

amounts not yet paid to the general contractor.

So get moving, because sooner is better!

And that means it's time to prepare the mechanics lien document.

The Iowa mechanics lien document will state key information about the job and the debt,

such as the job address, who hired you, what type of work you performed, and how much you're

owed.

You're also required to sign and notarize what the law calls a "Verified Statement

of Account," which is a sworn statement about the work you performed.

And finally, in Iowa, you're also required to submit a copy of your itemized invoices

or payment applications.

Once all the paperwork is completed, you'll need to sign everything and have your signature

notarized.

Then, it's time to get it recorded.

Iowa liens are recorded with the Iowa State Construction Registry, which is operated by

the Secretary of State.

You can access this at sos.iowa.gov/mnlr/

Submit your Iowa mechanics lien for recording there, and Voila!

You have a recorded mechanics lien.

After recording the mechanics lien, you have an obligation to notify the property owner

about the lien.

The Secretary of State is supposed to do this after recording, but because it's so important,

right after recording it's a good idea to send a copy of your lien to the property owner

by certified mail with return receipt requested.

You probably have other questions like:

What happens if they still don't pay?

Can I include attorney's fees in my lien claim?

What sort of legal property description should I include?

If you want to find the answers to these questions or learn more about filing liens and sending

notices in Iowa, visit zlien.com.

Getting your lien filed in Wisconsin involves a few time-consuming steps.

If you're still waiting for payment, it's a good idea to get moving.

How To File A South Carolina Mechanics Lien - Duration: 2:23.

Are you waiting to get paid for a construction project in South Carolina?

If so, you may be considering filing a mechanics lien.

Here are some things you need to know:

First, you must check your calendar, because South Carolina has a strict deadline.

A lien must be filed within 90 days after you last worked the job, and some counties

require the lien be served and filed within the same 90 day time period.

This is a pretty tight window, so if you still have time, then get moving.

Your first step will be to prepare the lien form.

A mechanics lien is simply a form that gets filed with the county recorder – but be

careful - the form and all of the information that goes on it has to be exactly right.

Little mistakes can invalidate your claim entirely, and you won't have time to fix

them!

When your document is completed, print it out, sign it, and since South Carolina requires

your lien to be notarized, also get it notarized.

Your next steps are to get your lien claim served and filed.

Some counties allow you to file the lien and then serve it, and other counties require

you to serve the lien first.

You'll want to call and check with the county beforehand, because this could have serious

implications on how quickly you need to act.

South Carolina requires that you personally serve the property owner with a copy of your

lien, and that the serve be initiated through the sheriff's office.

You'll need to contact the sheriff's office and arrange for the service of your lien,

and depending on the county's requirements, get your lien recorded before or after the

service is accomplished.

Your South Carolina lien will be filed in the register of deeds or clerk of court in

the county where the work was done.

And after all of that...you're done!

Great job!

You may have a bunch of other questions like: Do I need to use a legal property description

in the lien?

Can I include the recording fees, interest, and other collection costs in the lien amount?

Will my lien last forever?

To get the answer to these questions or if you just want to learn more about South Carolina

liens, check out zlien.com for FAQs, How-Tos, document templates, deadlines, and more.

How To File An Illinois Mechanics Lien - Duration: 2:23.

Are you still waiting to be paid on a construction job in Illinois?

Is it time to consider filing a mechanics lien?

Before you start, let's go over a few things you'll want to consider.

First, check your deadline.

In Illinois, you must file your lien within 4 months from when the entire project is completed

to be effective under all circumstances.

If the property hasn't changed ownership after the work you actually have much longer

-- up to 2 years!

But don't let that generous deadline slow you down from getting paid.

When you're ready to file your next step is to prepare your Illinois mechanics lien

form.

This is simply a form that gets filed with the county recorder – but be careful - the

form and all of the information that goes on it has to be exactly right.

If your lien claim is not prepared accurately, you may find that your lien is invalid or

rejected.

When your form is ready, it's time to get it recorded.

You must file your lien at the recorders' office in the county where the job was located.

This means actually printing out the document, signing and notarizing it, bringing it to

the recorder, standing in their line, and paying the recording fees.

Counties can be really picky about how they want documents formatted and what fees are

charged, so you may want call beforehand to prepare for these requirements.

And here's a pro tip -- Since the county recorder will keep a copy of the lien, bring

a second copy.

They will stamp it with the recording information and return it to you.

In some cases, you're required to serve the property owner with a copy of the lien

within 10 days of recording.

You can do this by sending a copy by certified mail return receipt requested to the owner.

This is only required sometimes, but to be safe, it's a good idea to do it.

And voila!

You've got a lien.

You may still have a bunch of questions like: What happens if the other party doesn't

pay?

Does my lien need a legal property description?

Who cancels the lien when/if I get paid?

To find the answers to these questions or to learn more about filing liens and sending

notices in Illinois, check out zlien.com.
